@@raincoast9010first off you didn’t need to say the same thing 3 times. Also, you would imply that grain is bad to begin with, how is that? Anyway, hauling off all of your top soil without replacing it is not a viable business model long term. Obviously they’re doing something to deal with that. From what I’ve read they’re just not removing near what you think. Most of the actual sod is roots/thatch, and apparently the lower roots add enough organic material to keep things going. Either way they’re clearly doing something to deal with the issue.
I remember you had a video of sod planting operation in Oregon. In this one, you said it the first time for a sod harvest. Diversity in agriculture is what you are famous for. It's no wonder why I like Mike 👍. Happy subscriber 😊 @
Thank you for these meaningful and beautiful shots! They truly capture the wonders of modern agriculture and showcase just how impressive and inspiring it has become.
Thank you mike for sod farm video. I cant wait until see the video of them chopping mint.i often wondered how they harvested mint .then to see the complete mint process and how it is done. Thank you mike for all the hard work you do to bring these videos to viewers like myself .
I always wondered if sod farms had to replace the dirt that was taken when harvesting the grass. I know that they try to take as little as possible, but they need to keep enough for the roots to remain. If they don't ever bring in soil to replace what was taken wouldn't the land slowly lower over time? Would love any answers folks have :)
Mike, Great video! Sod farms in New York State, but never seen the harvest. If it grows, you are there to see it happen! What is next, sugar cane??? Great 👍👍👍!
"The TreBro Auto Stack II sod harvester is truly impressive! Its technology makes cutting and stacking each piece of sod quick and efficient, with such precision and professionalism. I'm really curious about what the sod is used for after it's harvested - is it mainly for landscaping, lawns, or are there other uses? I'd love to hear more about what happens to the sod after it's harvested!"
many farming videos tend to get repetitive. However, this content keeps viewers coming back for more and also satisfies the RUclips algorithm! Is that a Moffitt Mounty forklift, manufacturer in my home town. Greetings from Dundalk Ireland
Once again you show us a part of agriculture that is not common. It’s what keeps me coming back to watch your videos
Farming equipment at work is always a sight to see! Hats off to the McKellip Sod team for their dedication to quality sod! 🙌
I agree with you. thanks for your comment
This is so much worse than grain or corn, what is the land worth when the top soil is gone?

This was cool. Would love to see them finish off the field tillage and sow it, too.
This is what I really like about your channel. All the variety and all the different aspects of agriculture.

Great video. Always wondered how that was done....
Pretty darn cool machine
How did your new mower work out for you this season? I think I am done mowing (with my new SCAG) for this year.
That's a cool machine.
Good video.
Tractor is power. How many tractor are there in you farm?
It seems to me that sod farms would rapidly be losing their topsoil as a little goes with the sod at each cutting. Do they replenish it?
😎😎
What variety of grass are they growing?
Is there soil erosion occurring?
Aren't they hauling away all of their topsoil over time?
The wheel on the short truck trailer looks like an accident waiting to happen
Laid lots of sod at a golf course.
In the near future, there will be not enough groundwater to do such non-food-farming.
Paying for grass instead of .. jesus christ ..
Don't make the rubber tire packer as your outro ever again!!!
