      Yeah i think some of us Americans are just dark. I would be upset if MHA started off like it was gonna be dark and then took this "power of friendship will make everything work out" turn then I'd understand why some would be upset. No, I think some people are forgetting that it's been set up that eri been coming to the battlefield for how many chapters now people are hating on the mangaka for planning far ahead and making a character where the rewind quirk to hate him is like hating gege or oda for setting up a character with a certain power to do something later on, it's not a bad storytelling. As for Eri’s quirk being damaged, Eri doesn’t REMOVE her horn to use her Quirk; she simply stores the power in it, then releases it by physical contact with someone. Aizawa’s concern stems from what would happen if, say, Ojiro lopped off his tail. It probably won’t affect Eri the same way, but we can’t know that for sure.

    • @alchemike6346
      @alchemike6346 Месяц назад +17

      MHA is a story of succession and how the actions of older generation leads the new one,All might despite his characteristics to keeping putting himself into danger that Deku also had so he couldn't be able to stop him when Deku did the same things he did in the Vigilante Arc, he let him make decision for his own that will eventually result in him understanding the value of not doing things on their own even if great responsibilities graves on his shoulder. AFO is just a self centered being,he did not care raising Shigaraki because of succession he just needed a new body since his own was basically broken to do that he basically needed just like Deku to Shigaraki to become strong enough to handle him,the latest chapters also revealed that Tenko never had a choice since AFO controlled his life since birth. Shigaraki/Tenko was never supposed to be the main villain just a "victim" in the hands of the main villain and just like Shigaraki the reader thought that he had control. AFO is invasive,annoying and stubborn but that is kinda his point.

    • @cosmic_cookie5669
      @cosmic_cookie5669 Месяц назад +13

      Honestly, I feel like they should've gotten rid of AfO a long time ago and have Shigaraki mature into his own villain, just like Deku had to become his own type of hero

    • @magicfist482
      @magicfist482 Месяц назад +6

      @@alchemike6346 But Shigaraki actually works so well as a main villain, even better than AFO, because Shigaraki's main motivation is against hero society itself. It makes sense for him to be the big bad. Listen, because of the nature of the villains in MHA, it's pretty clear that villains are made and not born (of course you could say AFO is the antithesis to this rule). Most villains are created, and Shiggy is the PERFECT example of this because every step of his life was manipulated into leading him to being a villain. Whenever AFO takes over it just sucks, but I understand how in this scenario AFO might pop up considering Deku has pretty much erased Shigaraki's hatred.

    • @alchemike6346
      @alchemike6346 Месяц назад +1

      @@magicfist482 i do think Shigaraki is a cool villain that can stand on his own too,technically AFO is already gone simply it makes sense for him to be lingering in Shigaraki because that is what happens with deku and the previous owners,as much as annoying it wouldn't make sense otherwise but I do not think Horikoshi will just throw his development away,because for how deep he is into this he would work with Deku just to defeat AFO from inside but I do not think he will change his ideals,people still did not help him when he was alone meaning he is still going to blame society for being so passive,there is no way he can be a "good person" now but he may become more similiar to Stain that has some solid ideals and not just a childish "i hate them all" like when he started. I trust Horikoshi know this very well because he's been pretty solid with most of his character development.

      But i feel like people tend to forget that the objective of this arc is not (only) defeating the villains but it's to save them the stake here is how far they are able to push their life for the sake of at least trying to save the other. Technically if Touya and Toga are done,the Heroes failed once again they lost more than you can think for their roles,the stakes here are high not really if Deku will be able to defeat Shigaraki/AFO but more if he will be able to put some sense in him and still somewhat make him go a better path (at this point i do not think he will).

      @GrimplaceGrace Месяц назад +2

      Put stakes make a story good. Naruto had stakes in the final war arc but the way they add things in some rules is what bothers and defies everything. Like how tf madara is using Susano without Sharigan? No one knows. Same with MHA rules like the author adding deux ex machina and adding unnecessary things. We won't care if people didn't die just don't make it so ridiculous make it feel like it makes some kind of sense within the rules. JJK has weird standards forgetting the story structure getting to the point and impact goes low no build-up to the things so it would be interesting I guess fans just don't like characters growing they think trauma equals good writing. JJK didn't set any standards because there are many shounen anime that have major deaths and stakes so I don't see how JJK is different It is mere fighting anime. JJK is so concentrated on subverting expectations just so they can mess up it in the end. Nobara's death is bad like author can't even mention whether she's dead

It can have dark moments, but we have known from the beginning that the good guys will win this isnt surprising. people are in it for the ride because they already know the destination. I dont even think the consequences are damped as much as we think they are unless we can't accept a teenage boy literally having his arms disintegrated, then getting them back is a good thing. If we can't see that as a net possitive, maybe it's time to collectively grow out of the 20's edgelord phase. Trust me by the time you hit your 30's you can just hope that not so many of your loved ones pass and only a few occurances of being financially destitute occur that you will be able to stay in that phase. looking for hope and seeing the collective good triumphs over evil in your stories won't seem so dull it will be a necessity to keep your sanity.

    This is the story Horikoshi always wanted to write. This has always been the story of how Deku AND HIS FRIENDS saved the world. Consequences are great and all, but “friendship overcomes everything” is the exact message this story is meant to tell us. REAL, STRONG friendship CAN overcome any trial, no matter how severe.
    What we’re seeing now is the result of Deku putting his life on the line for his friends, over and over again. His friends are now putting their lives on the line for him. Eri owes him her life and freedom, she’s putting her Quirk on the line for him. In a way, these “consequences” you want Deku to have, are being shouldered by Deku’s friends, who could end up injured in this fight with Eri unable to help them. But what are friends for, if not to help carry your burden as you help carry theirs?
    Even the civilians are getting in on this action- they can’t fight, they can’t even flee, they’re helpless; but providing stuff to use as bandages? They can at least do this much, and they’re doing it. It’s a symbol of the people of Japan standing united behind the heroes at last, despite all of the villains’ efforts to divide them.

    I know that sometimes it is upsetting that nothing is permanent in the writing, a la Dragonball, but I think we have to realize that Kohei Horikoshi has one major theme wound into this entire story: Plus Ultra. And what we consistently see is that people are inspired in this story by others going above and beyond that they too go above and beyond the call. So it makes sense that Eri would do the same after witnessing all the sacrifices made for her, right? The symmetry in her giving the horn to Aizawa is that he, without hesitation, went beyond by cutting off his leg to maintain his quirk and save those fighting Shigaraki. She, inspired by that, goes beyond herself by cutting off her horn to try to save those fighting AFO. The twist here is that, unlike Aizawa, her cutting off a part of her could potentially damage or even destroy her quirk. Her healing Deku months/years later would allow Deku to maintain the "Plus Ultra" theme for himself, but would not allow her to have been a participant. Remember, this WAS the story of how Deku became the greatest hero. But the Dark Deku arc showed the shift to “The story of how we all became the greatest Heroes.” This makes sense as far as how Eri, surrounded and inspired by heroes, maintains this theme and demonstrates her finding a way to enter into the battle, albeit indirectly. Her own Plus Ultra. My thoughts.

Sasuke on the other hand, told Naruto that he felt as if he hadn’t paid his penance (essentially he’s done much more evil than good and he feels he’s still in debt to the world). So Sasuke decided a couple of things based off his feelings, 1 he did not deserve a replacement arm as his missing arm serves him a great reminder for his past atrocities, 2 he should not be a celebrated member of the Leaf village and instead will work from the shadows to help the Leaf village in any way he can. Hope that helps.

    For the people that wish the Kurogiri stuff took multiple chapters to resolve, what were you expecting? Shirakumo is dead. Kurogiri isn't "Skirakumo but he changed a bit" he's literally a reanimated CORPSE that spent the last ten years working for villains. Hes no longer the friend that Mic and Eraser wish he was. The only resolution that is possible here is accepting that Skirakumo will never really come back and that if Kurogiri has this innate protective instinct, that they might as well use it, which they do. That's honestly a beautiful sequence. But nope, us consumers know how everything should be written because we shoulder ZERO responsibility in the making of this manga. This video is exhausting to watch and these MHA hate-readers need to move on with their life and read something that treats their characters like garbage, lile JJK.

    It makes sense.
    Eri, this young child who we've seen before have the ability to heal deku so much that he had an infinite 100%
    And whos also a child that whenever we see deku talk to her she says "i wanna make it up to you" coupled with the fact that she kinda doesnt like her own quirk
    Takes the quirk factor out (her horn)
    Stores it up with ebergy as a last ditch effort to help her savior deku.
    Just like how she helped mirio.
    This in my opinion
    Is a good choice for the story.
    Because it displays what everyone in this world will sacrifice just to help others
    And its not like dekus arms are back to being completely healed of any previpus wounds ever.
    She only reversed it to the point before they were gone
    So the arms are still fucked up.

    I used to dislike the fact that Deku got his arms back after one chapter. But after doing more thinking about it. Sure, he gained his arms back, but it was not without the cost of Eri forcibly removing her horn. Because of this Eri may be heavily nerfed or potentially never be able to use her quirk again, which makes the consequences of what the heroes lost in this war, whether it be a limb or a quirk more permanent and irreversible. So it’s like Midoryia being rewarded yet also punished for going through with his Ideals of trying to save Shigaraki and I like that. Plus there’s the added punishment for him going through with his ideals by giving up OFA, the vestiges and being left with its embers *possibly* being quirkless forever *possibly* ending his dream long term but also fulfilling his dream at the same time after he wins the war. So there are already permanent consequences for him and other heroes here. I’m also very glad that Eri was able to play a role here without having to be there. Cause a 6 year old being in the same area with the most dangerous villain in history would just be too ridiculous.

    Eri having the power to magically fix things has always been an element of the story that bugs the heck out of me, and it's never been used in a satisfying way anytime it came up. Recovery Girl said she won't heal Deku anymore if he keeps abusing his body? Here's Eri to make that a non-issue for the Overhaul fight! Mirio lost his powers for good? Nah, he got them back offscreen! Deku lost his arms? It's okay, here's Eri's horn to immediately regrow them.

    • @SpScarletSpider
      @SpScarletSpider Месяц назад

      Eri's power though, has a larger limit to its usage than Recovery Girl's. It might seem like it's easily abused, but Eri has been using it a lot more sparingly than we think. It needs weeks/months to charge up before she can really use it (at least at this point).

The last time a protagonist had permanent bodily consequences that were not reversible or we're going to be reverse a long time ago. Even JJK hasn't had consequences like that for people to judge. The mangaka for this is stupid, especially when it was set up so long ago that eri coming to the battlefield for anyone who didn't expect something like this to happen honestly is dumb and anyone who agrees that it's dumb that this happened is also dumb

    The first episode states that he becomes the greatest hero and then later on he says that his class were the greatest heroes. It’s foreshadowed that it would be a victory. It was never going to be dark. Only Americans really love darker stories. We loved the villain arc and hated that the anime glossed it over. However, the studio only did that because the Japanese audience didn’t like it. MHA has always been a generic manga. It’s literally a superhero version of Fairy Tail.

  • @Sjono

    Complaints about consequences aside, it still makes sense how Eri’s power is being used. We’ve already been told that her horn hasn’t stored up as much energy at the moment, and Izuku’s arms just got decayed.
    So by utilizing the horn asap means not a lot of time has passed so the horn can reconstruct his arms
    Idk if Deku will still have access to the other quirks though
