      When we talk about buisness we always talk about ROI..
      Return on investment..
      Here 2 billion will take like 25-30years..still only half will be payed back..
      Although we will get technology..but A JV will be much cheaper and we will have the proprietor Manufacturing/Modification rights.+ It will come Sooner then never like this.

    Government Should Invest Some Money To NAL To Open Their Own Production Facility As NAL Is The Best & Most Favorite And Unsung Heros Of Indian Defence Industries As They Single Handedly Developed Critical Technologies By Themselves For India Which Was Restricted By The Western Counties Even They Applied Sanctions.

    Instead of spending 25 billion annually on distributing free food to 800 million, half of whom don't even need free food, govt should spare some money for important tech development... This will also keep Indian talent in India instead of working for Boeing or Airbus

    After seeing Russia, our govt. should have dedicated budget for this. Govt. shall develop the core product and license it to local manufacturers (incl. their fav. Reliance). Once the product gets going, the private companies can improvise upon the design and take it from there. Otherwise, this will never get started.

    It still makes sense to consider purchasing Embraer in a 50:50 split, and that will solve most of the IAF's needs like aerial refuellers, and business jets and regional jets. However the issue of expensive jumbo jets remains, and the best solution to that is to join the CR929 jumbo jet project. It is unrealistic to develop jumbo jets entirely on your own, and there are already too many competitors in the regional jet space. Much easier to buy our way in, like how Tata just bought Land Rover. If the NAL team is left in chrage, they will likely take decades to produce a plane. Buying Embraer is the fastest shortcut to success.

      @@datoolz0 The only negotiation that the government is having is in relation to a possible sale of the KC-390 to India, with the possibility of technology transfer and local production. Any type of agreement involving changes in the shareholding control of the Brazilian company, as would happen with Boeing, has practically zero chances of being approved by the new Brazilian government, contrary to the sale with strategic companies.

    • @sriharshacv7760
      @sriharshacv7760 6 месяцев назад

      That seems like the most realistic solution to this. Both Brazil and India would win. India can supply both muscle and brain and scale it to meet the demands of the larger world.

    For positive outcome in Aerospace sector, Govt should allow pvt firms like Tata and L&T to have partnership with govt R&D agencies for co development with a clear mandate of giving them rights of design and manufacturing after completion of projects. Pvt players will have to pay royalty for getting the IPR rights.
    Govt has to bear the entire project cost.
    Financial Risk has to be taken by govt.
    Otherwise such projects isn't going to become successful.
    Don't expect private firms to invest billions without any commitments.

    Using the Su-30's non-afterburning stage as a basis, a turbofan engine should be developed with a max thrust rating of 75 KN. This should be used to power this aircraft. The turboprop required to power this aircraft will have to be humongous. So I feel this is just going to be another long-drawn out projects which might fail.

    Depending on the technology used, this aircraft may reach the market outdated, making the product unattractive. Embraer was on the TPNG, a program for a new generation turboprop with a capacity of 70/90 seats. However, the Brazilian company recently announced its pause, since the technologies offered by engine manufacturers were not attractive, making it run the risk of certifying the plane just when a new class of turboprop engines emerges.
