I agree with almost none of the hoo haa that surrounds all of these movies, and I'll explain why: My Star Wars was the original trilogy, I passed the love of those movies on to my sons, but the prequels were their Star Wars. Now my eldest son has passed his love of Star Wars to his kids, and the sequels are their Star Wars. This franchise now spans three generations of my family, and our collective love of these movies is what really matters about this franchise. The Mandalorian & Obi-Wan have become OUR Star Wars, three generations united in a single franchise, and all because George Lucas dared to dream. It doesn't MATTER what your opinion, of any given movie, from this franchise is. This all exists, and we all love it.

They had such an interesting premise with a defecting Storm Trooper finding out he is force sensitive, and the struggle that he might have fighting his former friends in battle… such a shame that after The Force Awakens Finn just became a background character who screams “Rey!” all the time. His character had such charisma and intrigue, much more than Rey ever did, who other than her struggle with the dark side of herself in TLJ, was a pretty bland character.
I have since heard this change-of-focus happened (in large part) because of secondary Asian audiences -- back-staging the interracial romances, person of color as a primary character -- if true, that's maybe even worse.
So much wasted potential. Inexcusable. They had so many resources, so much talent, so much money. My drunken uncle could’ve created a more coherent story arc for these last 3 episodes.

16 minutes 40 seconds in, JJ Abrams “we need someone new, someone vulnerable sweet tough and terrified.” she wasn’t sweet and she wasn’t terrified and she wasn’t vulnerable. crazy to watch. There is nothing in this world that divided the star wars franchise like this trilogy. And its painful to watch how delightful, excited, and happy all these people seem. They thought they were making something truly next generational. But unfortunately they just divided the fanbase with this trilogy. But at least they had this magical feeling while making these movies.
We have criticism for the Sequels just like the Prequels. People are never satisfied. They developed new characters because our original heroes were up in age. Harrison said himself he couldn’t Imagine where the story would go. My only disappointment is how they ended up using Luke Skywalker.
Why do all the Brits keep their accents in the movie except John boyega? They made him do an American accent for some reason. Im curious what reason that could be
When a publisher insists on making an arbitrary date regardless of achieved quality and has no single vision of its story then goes though main writers with a muddled collection of others "helping" oh heck just read "meddling" instead you know it is going to be a train wreck. Deciding after you get a job making these movies that you need to start learning about Star Wars just made me actually cringe away from the monitor. You either already know, or should NOT be anyone important in the creative process of making the movie. The only other franchise this iconic is LotR, now we can clearly see the difference in passion of film makers that truly get the heart of a story, from its setting, its characters, to its wild depth of detail created through decades of real world professional effort, and film makers that are just out to make "another movie" like they always do in their jobs. One of these two ran off with rows and rows of little golden statues in recognition of its creators, the other one didn't even keep the regard of the franchise's own fan base let alone earn any critical acclaim.
i want them to perfect AI so it can remake them all according to how george would have done it.... or, a way to watch it in an alternate universe where it wasnt disney
Yeah, but if George would have done it, fans would be bitching and moaning because he would have explored the midichlorians some more and the fans would be complianing that this isn't Star Wars and they've lost interest, blah blah blah. However, I do think we would have had much better movies and still be lost in the universe he created. Disney, especially with their artistic style, removed us from his universe and just dumped us in some generic sci fi setting. And to clarify, we can remove the Star Wars characters from 7-9 and it would feel like any sci fi movie. 1-6, if you remove the characters you know you're still in the Star Wars universe.
I got to Kathleen Kennedy talking about how they were the apprentices and had to learn the Star Wars lore. Then the new fenale lead had to be vulnerable... and then I'm out. Like are they serious and just mucked it up or are they lying? Why not plan out the whole trilogy? Because of the rush I guess. Righto I'm out. Although Andor. Like that was my second fav show from last few years (after Severance). Just so damn brilliant. Please do more of that.
How to destroy a multi generational money making machine. What a joke. Star Wars is dead. Disney needs to sell it. They have no clue what they are doing. The only decent film was Rogue One. JJ saying, who is Luke Skywalker and then not use him is such a joke.
Looking back at when this came out (Force Awakens) we were all pretty excited. Watching it we were all very excited. Then we began to think about it. And the story became nothing more than a remake of A New Hope. That’s when the disappointment started to settle in. And now I can barely think of watching it again. Yes the effects were state of the art and looked cool. But the heart of it was dead. I was there at age 17 for a New Hope and maybe that’s partially why those originals have stayed with me. Young and impressionable we had never seen anything like it. Maybe it was just an impossible task to try and redo that magic. But I’m looking at the Box Office Mojo (2024) and it’s still listed as the highest grossing movie in history. We really did like it at the time. And don’t get me started on the Lucas prequels 😵💫
George selling out and giving Kathy and Disney control was so sad. He gave up his dream, his life's work, for $4B. Hope he thinks it was worth it. As a fan who watched the original trilogy during their first runs at the movie theater, I sure don't.
Lucas never tried to remake star wars. he wanted to expand it but people didn't want that. My issue with the sequels is that it was trying to do a remake

And the Roman numeral II looks like the Twin Towers. Begun, this Clone War has. Anakin, basically the broken home GenX/Millenial had bpd along with his many gifts, but he was changing. And he was being pulled in different directions by entrenched institutions. This included a rancid old power hungry man who wanted a complete shift in society, with him and his cult on top. The era of Woke. Now, the Empire was racially and gender diverse, no longer just white men. We are used to broken families and nonreunions. Gen Z born into this mess. Conservatives had their run, Liberals had their chance, but a neoConservatism was rising, as people sought order and a patriarchal leader. Previously idealistic young men were now bitter hermits. Every girl was a born superhero. And the old dinosaur we thought was dead makes his emurgence to assert power leaving neither Gen X nor Gen Z in charge of destiny. Only the most ancient still living Baby Boomer. The Dark Times never ended, just seemed like they did. Icons have died, abandoned us or been rendered a pale imitation of themselves. All the heroes are gone. Only the amazing from Day One perfectionists can save us. They can't. And people hating uncertainty will now embrace Imperial Rule. No more rebellions. When a multi billion dollar company that swallows other company's promotes rebellion and resistance it is a joke, a lie. Only profit and expansion matters. Lucas sold his baby. And under new parentage the New Republic has been lost. The Empire is eternal.

Lucas sold his baby. And under new parentage the New Republic has been lost. The Empire is eternal.

I knew it was going to be trash the second I saw the Disney DuckTrooper design
im so happy we let black people lead a calvary in the movie
Sometimes So Called 'Fans' Should Have Just SHUT UP and We Got What We Got Both In Prequels and Sequels 😮 Further Movies Maybe 🤔 Will Be Even Better But I Like Star Wars And I Except What I Can't Change...Oh Well 👍😊
An abomination of trilogy
George why did you sell Star Wars ???
Disney have destroyed this beloved franchise full stop!!! the prequels where ok, just about!!!! , these were just awful!!!!!
Why is the flipping sound muted through this?
It's really bloody irritating
Something is about to happen
I sense it too!
A nonsensical, disjointed sequel that managed to be even worse than the Prequel Trilogy. Great job destroying the legacy and the Saga story, Lucasfilms. Aside from Rogue One, Star Wars has been an embarrassing joke since after Return of the Jedi.
Should have never been done!
I refuse to watch any of these movies . I even hate what Lucas did to episode 4,5,and 6 when he "improved" them .
I grew up on 4, 5 and 6. I never thought 7, 8 and 9 would mean more to me ❣
纪录片比电影本身更好看。
Why?
Kylo Ren is a chump, and Rey well, where to begin?....
Why would anyone wnt to watch a documentary on the worst trilogy ever made? I would rather bounce my head off of the pavement for three ours and 51 minutes!
I know! It’s like standing at Southampton's White Star Dock waving goodbye to the Titanic. 🧊🚢
How to destroy a legacy
They could have just filmed a dog taking a dump and it would have been better than those vitriolic nasty films.
These movies were garbage, destroyed the lore with some nonsense.
kathleen Kennedy, killed starwars with her woke, me too agenda!
Much as I dont like the sequels there was no agenda in the films. At least not in my opinion.
I tried to watch this thing but it just makes me feel unbearably sad. Oh, what might have been...
Maybe just me, but I think the sequels were great
IM done with the negativity. We should get more luke and the academy. But theres nothing wrong with it as end all.
LMAO
