I’m a ground hunter too. Two most useful tools in my bag is a low down hunting seat made by fanatic outdoors and a folding turkey seat. Anything within 15 yards is dead. Both seats are light and support the lower back. I shoot a recurve and practice shooting in both seats. You’re advice about having proper clearance with the front cover is spot on. Always practice your draws before setting in for the hunt. Ground hunting is very addicting. It is far more stealthy and mobile. The best part is there’s no packing up after a hunt. Enjoy your videos a lot. 👍🏻
You said “my heart was poundin’”! I keyed in on that because no matter the size, the end result, whatever happens, that’s such a big part of the memory/hunt! Thanks for sharing Robert.
I'm your age. Yeah, here in the swamps of Arkansas we call them cow oaks. Love your videos. You do a great job and I, for one, appreciate your effort. I would love to see your mobile camera setup. If I may, I would like to suggest when you show those acorns etc on the ground to hold the camera from moving for a short time. I believe what you are showing would be clearer to us. Again, Robert, thanks again for your videos. Young folks don't understand how much info is available nowadays. We sure didn't have that in the 70s when we were learning, just the school of hard knocks.
Love ground hunting most. I enjoy simplicity. I have stools ,camo buckets, and the Millineum Tree seat. Enjoy them all. Cover and wind is a must. Nice job on this today My Friend.
I sat on a blown down tree on the creek. Nice buck got with in 30ft at the end of the tops.. 😂 we seen each other at the same time and he bolted. Was a lot of fun .
always something to learn, at least hopefully we learn by what happens and what doesn't happen. Being willing to move when on the ground to allow for wind changes, sun changes or whatever can make the difference of success or not. as always, enjoyed your video. It's hard not to call something that you heard the old timers calling it. Even though I know that is actually a rat snake, by what I knew them as growing up, they are still a chicken snake to me. you have a true hot spot there and I hope that we get to see another one fall to your arrow. Keep em coming Brother
love ground hunting. stalkin in the wind is my fav. just bought a Dave Albright 45# longbow going to try to go back to trad by end of season and definitely will by next. shoot straight brother
I hunt "Blind" as well .. 21 deer in three days is good, I'm lucky to see that many in one month ! Most important thing from my experience of ground hunting, is good back cover and minimum movement.
I'm watching this on my lunch from huntin. I just made this mistake this morn of setting up with a heavy trail coming to straight at me. Had a line of 4 does come in an when that first girl turned I still had 3 watchin me. Had to shift over and get out of line of sight.

Good tips Robert eye level hunting’s good for the heart!
Ground hunting with trad equipment is nothing short of exciting. Something about having a deer at 5 yards on the same eye level. Love it!!
