- In this video I bring you guys along on a 9 months journey hand crafting a 58” osage self bow. This bow is Unbacked and is pulling 43# at 28”
This bow was inspired by the horns of the Cape buffalo. It’s shortness gives the archer piece of mind shooting from a tree stand or ground blind. The deflex in the handle allows this bow to be drawn safely to 28”
Osage orange is definitely my favorite bow material. Beautiful workmanship.
Thank you! It’s a super wood for sure.
That’s pretty dang impressive! Bois D’arc has no limitation lol
FANTASTIC build, looks GOOD, SEEMS FAST TO ME!!YOUR TRULy a bowyer👍
🙏🏾
One growth ring & you got that kind of pop from it!? 😲 Good stuff!!!
Very nice! I've been building wooden bows for 25 plus years and Osage is a favorite. My current favorite is a bamboo backed Osage glued up in a Perry reflex. Holds about 2" of reflex just unbraced. Shoots a 500grain arrow over 200yards, pulls 48#@28"
it looks great and I LOVE it
Thanks so much!

Do you have a website or etsy? Or take commissions?
I’m working on a website. But I do have an Etsy shop as well. I definitely take commissions on custom made bows that require a deposit.
