Also, I've given up on constructed a long time ago. But you're wrong in "you gotta play something like this if you want to rank up," because you forget one important word at the end: *fast*.
Kibler, for instance, does not play cancer decks at all. And still gets to legend every time pretty comfortably. Cause his goal is to have fun and entertain, not wave around a tiny virtual donger.

Yeah, I was getting pretty wrecked as a paladin against this deck until I was asked a very important question:

I never liked playing aggro decks. I always build control/fatigue decks.
But then, I opened a golden Renounce Darkness. And I wanted to make it work.
Decided to make an aggro warlock, with only warlock cards (making it a bit weaker than the standard zoo - no giants ...) save for two sergeants (couldn't remove those, they are mandatory, be it for burst damage, or to make better trades in late game), and Renounce Darkness.
I've had crazy results. When the aggro is getting stalled/starting to run out of steam, you just play it and even if you only get randomly generated cards for an other class, it is incredible. 1 mana less on each card is awesome. No 2 of a same card limitation confuses opponents. Opponents don't know how to handle the game since they can't predict strategies (because I don't have one anymore - I don't know what I am gonna draw !).
Just think the plays carefully and it does it. I've gone 13-1 with this starting at rank 4.
I also won a local tournament with it. (I yoloed Renounce Darkness on turn 2 during the finals because I was facing freeze mage which would have obliterated me - and I won with hunter (That flare did the job quite well in the end ...))

I have been playing C'Thun Control Priest. With my list I managed to reach rank 6 from Rank 15 in one day; mostly thanks to all the Zoolock it has been destroying.
Zoolock is definitely good though.

Until Old Gods came out I was a F2P player. I grinded to pay for Nax with gold and then other than popping in once in a while to do some quests or a Brawl I didn't play much HS. I unlocked the first wing of Blackrock as well. I cannot afford really to put money into this game.
But Old Gods and also the introduction Standard format made me want to play more. I preordered Old Gods. After opening my packs I fiddled and tweaked and made the first list here; which I used to reach rank 7. It is a subpar list though as my available cardpool was pretty limited. The second list is what I used to get from 7 to 6 and I made it after I bought Blackrock and League and finished them.

I came on this after testing and finding too many C'thun enablers meant I had too few actual interactive cards for the game. Only one Darkmender because of curve, bad interaction with Soulpriest, and honestly you don't need two. Emperor Thaurisan was filler. Ysera has great synergy with C'Thun since you can use Dream to replay him. Has been very relevant.
I made a few tweaks at rank 7. I had dropped one Azure Drake and tested Shadow Word Horror for a bit at a friend's suggestion. Though it didn't do much and the matches it was for were already good matches. But it was better for my curve. I dropped it and added a single Hooded Acolyte and that worked perfectly and I hit rank 6. I dropped a Flame Juggler for a single Twilight Elder. Two Jugglers was too many; and they were mainly tempo fillers for curve. The three drop Elder felt better.
Then I did the adventures. I built this:

But srsly tho i use one of them in my zoolock and he causes most of my wins good with forbiden ritual next turn after you play him

EVERY GOD DAMN TIME! Because that is what most people want. Yet blizzard has yet to actually achieve that in 2 1/2 years of HS.
+L0LWTF1337 Because a control meta is almost impossible to achieve, there will always be fast and midrange decks that can curve out perfectly against control decks. It's actually healthy, nobody wants an all control meta, it'd be so boring. Compare the current state of the game to previous incarnations and the game has slowed down considerably.

this deck is really crazy!
I put "Gormok" in and maybe will include "Brann Bronzebeard", but I'm not sure that I should...anyway, I played this deck for a while and right from the start, I won *79%* of my matches and I climbed from rank 17 to rank 11 in literally no time, with 11-3 and an eight win winstreak!

Missed lethal at 19:22. Hit face with all except sheep, use mortal coil on your own Abusive Sgt. and the sheep would get +1 attack from the wolf which makes it 15 + 4 from the Power Overwhelming.

I was playing zoolock just before the expac and was smashing. Now with "possessed villager", "darkshire councilman" and "spawn of n'zoth". It's amazing!
Similar to kripps minus the mortal coil, dragon eggs, argent horserider, cult and volcanic. Replaced by Bran, defender, juggler, bane of doom and iron beak to go face and a void walker to defend my juggler.

Turns out losing Lightbomb, Deathlord, Zombie Chow, Sludge Belcher was pretty rough. When your best neutral Taunt before 7 mana is Senji Shieldmasta, that's pretty brutal for decks with poor AOE.

Also mage has Twilight Flamecaller which pretty much does the same thing Ravaging Ghoul does. Yeah it's a 2/2 but if you can use it as a board clear that's not very important. I haven't pulled that off yet though.
Yay... "This expansion will push the game more towards control" except for when it doesn't and mindless aggro is still the most successful archetype in the game.

I don't consider zoo to be "mindless aggro" and I don't think it is the most successful archetype in the game at all. No way you win from warrior or priest with this deck. Also you got to play well with zoo lock a lot more then with something like face hunter.
+Leedark3 Why would you think zoo was mindless aggro? It's a deck built around board control, one of the fundamentals of the game. What would you say was better? Freezing your enemy's board until you burst them down? Playing board clears until you draw Reno? Mindless is playing shit on curve without any thought. Zoo requires a lot of thought. No other deck even needs to think about minion placement often, especially with no shredder. Essentially - you don't know how to beat zoo, so you cry about it.

Yeah, I dropped several board clears from my Priest into one of these and still didn't stop it. Starting to take a new look at Shadow Word Horror if this continues to grow in popularity.

How do you not get board cleared ? Whenever I play small mana minions they have board clears upon board clears then it's just GG.

Put in the Dreadsteed. It's the gift that keeps on giving. I win a lot of games with the Gormak/Brann combo, but this also applies to Frostwolf and Seeker.

What I like about zoo is that I can play it on my second monitor while mainly focusing on the tv show on my main monitor and still win two out of three games. Seems pretty good.

What's most annoying part about darkshire, only counter we currently have for turn 3 - 5 HP is Shadow strike.

Huh, I was having medicore results with zoo but I wasn't running Councilman. I was running the new Mukla too, I guess he's not good enough because he's too fair. I should have paid more attention to the pre-cons in retrospect.

Hey Kripp, have you tried adding an Earthen Farseer? It gives some body plus can heal you or the Councilman.
What's the rationale for possessed villager instead of argent squire? Argent can better retain buffs because it doesn't resummon itself
Made it from ~7 to legend the last days, have seen some of these councilman zoo decks. I only lost 1 of these games with my priest cthun deck which i just tried out 1 or 2 games and went back to yogg freeze mage or nzoth pally
Darkshire Coucilman and Doom combo really well with Forbidden Ritual.

TY for making ladder 100% zoo. Ladder was fun for like 3 days and now its aggro shaman zoo and zoo.
I tried making a dreadsteed/grimm patron warlock w/ councilman work, but this is probably just better.
You can craft juggler, and disenchant it for full price once you're bored with the deck (if you get bored quickly, that is)
Saw this deck once playing crappy whatever's available Paladin. Consecration wrecked it, as did Cyclopean whatever (the taunt with +1 to health per enemy).
In what world we live in, where kripp enjoys a zoo deck! ooh the humanity...
c'thun druid, control warrior and priest and tempo rogue is the best decks I've played. rogue is pretty insane TBH
wow... I am now rank 10 with my warrior C'Thun deck (yes the season of may) and I have met quite a few zoolocks, not lost one single time...
From my experience the Spawn of N'zoth is really good. I got the buff on at least two minions and sometimes a full board.
Zoo was always the deck against which I struggled the most and when I saw Forbidden Ritual I was so scared especially when I imagined the combo with Knife Juggler / Darkshire Councilman. But to my surprise I'd even consider it much easier to deal with as a priest now.
Shadowword: Horror has such a big impact and with Cult Apothecary, Darkshire Alchemist and Twilight Darkmender there are so many great options to heal, while getting a decent body on the board.
But I'd still rather play in the wild format, as losing Lightbomb represents quite a big deal in many matchups.
Kripp at 19:35 would it have been lethal if you had attacked with the 2-1 then coiled it so the next tentacle gets the +1 attack for lethal?
I'm playing this deck with relative success, but I feel some cards are not optimal. For example, reliquary seeker rarely is usefull or play well, and most of the time is only used to faster bump Councilman. I understand you used this as an example of how easy it is to play zoo in this expansion, but if you would spice this deck up a little what else would you add / remove?
I tried the deck (have everything but the sea giants) but I really haven't been able to make it work. I usually wind up just getting destroyed by rogues/priests/druids who are able to play bigger minions, or board clear faster than I can throw anything up...
19:21 missed lethal ._. could have used mortal to kill the tentacle next to wolf to give the next tentacle 2 attack aswell
recommendations for mulligans for this deck? Or improvements as to what to replace if u have more acces to cards?
Kripp. You have so much influence... Making this video is going to make more people play zoo. As a side note. I've had all of success against zoo with shaman. Especially with 2 jeweled scarobs as it gives you a chance to have 4 lightning storms or pic up more hex which is useful against their doom guards and giant.
Spawn of N'zoth really synergies well with most of the cards.
