    I've thought she was a Soprano for the longest time. Never paying any attention to her lows. She's similar to Jojo but she has a heavier weight to her voice. I still think that she sounds pretty girly and young even in the D#4-F#4 area which is supposed to be a chesty area for women and especially Mezzo's.

    She is a Light Lyric. Not to be confused as if light lyrics do not have huge voices lol clearly. The girlish quality and weight of her voice is that of a light lyric. Mezzos have heavier/darker more full sounds on low notes. The lightness is what makes her voice so pleasant.

    • @dreamKeech
      @dreamKeech 4 года назад +9

      Hugo Ocaña I’m a light lyric. Cynthia and I have the exact same repertoire and those notes are easy not airy . Everyone’s voice is different. Some light lyrics have more range than others. She may even be a full lyric but the heaviness in her voice is just not that of a mezzo. It’s a dead giveaway when they start singing and she doesn’t have that big mama sound down there. It’s not thick and deep enough for me to believe that. Her thickness lies in the high belty girlish tones. Mezzos: Yolanda Adams & Jess Norman.

    her voice shines in the middle range which is evident of a mezzo. though we can't really apply the classical faching to contemporary music cos there can be differences. nonetheless, her belting exhibits the same characteristics as beyonce (a mezzo) plus you can hear the ring is in the middle range.

      @bbnffgvbnn8860 2 года назад +2

      Then pls explain why she had classical training as a Soprano

    • @Tenshi659
      @Tenshi659 2 года назад +2

      @@bbnffgvbnn8860 as I mentioned, classing fach can't really apply to contemporary music as there are a lot of differences. She can be a soprano classically but if you listen to her pop (non classical way of singing) her tone is more of a mezzo. The comfort is more in her middle register. Then again classical classification differs. I, myself is an example. I'm a countretenor on both genre.but since I am more classically trained, i excel in head register, thus I usually sing on the soprano range as classically, the singing utilizes head register. But when i sing contemporary, my chest voice isn't well developed for belting. Thus, I find more comfort in singing mezzo as my belting tessitura ends around D5 or a sharp. E5 onwards requires me to switch to my head voice i find easy. Whereas a contemporary soprano usually can still execute that up to an F or G5 in their chest belt. So there are a lot to consider. Plus, I haven't seen her sing classically so I can't say she's a soprano. But contemporary wise, she shares a mezzo fach with her awesome rich dark tone.

    • @cameron7644
      @cameron7644 2 года назад +1

      @@Tenshi659 The fach system only exists in opera, it's not that its "applied differently" to pop singers, it isn't applied to them at all. And your voice type doesn't change based on what genre you sing, your voice is your voice. Her middle range is solid because she has a well developed chest belt, but even so there are plenty of operatic Sopranos with stronger and darker chest notes. She's a Soprano because that's how she's classified in opera, the only form of singing where the fach system applies. She's not a Mezzo at all, nor does she even sound like one singing pop.

      Her lows are very good to soprano and she gains more power and weight at the middle range as a mezzo. Cynthia can sing higher notes because her stage-singer technique is great! Her belting is wonderful, but her natural voice is lower than a soprano.

    • @igordanielnoronha
      @igordanielnoronha  6 лет назад +11

      Before I forget: Cynthia can sound very similar with a soprano when she sings in head voice, especially in lyric singing, even so, I still think she's a mezzo.
      Forgive my english!

    • @ThiHills
      @ThiHills 6 лет назад +12

      She is a mezzo-soprano (more precisely, a Lyric weight mezzo), her middle register is better than her upper register (which sounds pushed in some/most? notes, especially above F5/F#5), also her low register sounds pretty good, she can sound consistent down to F3 (3:01) (most soprani CAN'T sound consistent below G3). And above F#5 her belted notes lose brightness (right where a true soprano voice might SHINE). I have no doubt that she is a mezzo-soprano.
