Beyoncé is more of a technical singer. Technically Beyoncé is perfect. Keke has this raw singing voice it’s so beautiful and natural. Beyoncé as well. When they sing both sound like angels. I wish we stopped comparing.

Keke is a much better technician than Beyonce tho? Beyonce could never pull off 11:07 or 10:05 and be this clean. And that’s not even counting the fact that Keke’s lows and head voice absolutely wipe Beyoncé’s
I feel like if Beyonce sang more gospel and ballad music and actually show her range in that area, people would respect her vocal ability more. But it's not her fault 'cause she KNOWS that she can never be who she is today if she sticked to ballads. Still rare to see someone like her who can actually SANG and deliver dance performances with so much stamina, not to mention her stage presence is unprecedented nobody currently alive has the same power like her on stage.
i also think keke’s repertoire allows her voice to shine more because beyoncé has a wider variety of types of material, whereas all of keke’s songs involve “SANGING”

WHEW! what a beautiful battle this was. two phenomenal talents. I honestly was surprised that keke took the lower notes, I love bey's lower registry but keke shined. Similarly, I was surprised bey took lower chest belts for me. Keke's ease and deliver was appreciated but the power and grit behind Bey's lower belted notes did it for me. The head voice was basically a tie - i love Bey's operatic execution but Keke's ease and power also shined. As for agility.... whew! they're both BEYOND impressive. bey has a sultry, buttery yet defined agility. Keke is like... untouchable. like, seriously..
I love Bey she is a great singer but I also know other singers who sing just as good as her or even better but Keke’s voical chords were touch by angels!!!!! I have seen Keke belt out runs without even opening her mouth just clinched teeth... Period!!!!!

@@THEE.apples Beyoncé’s intense vocal training (and physical training) have given her the perfect core for singing. when supporting notes from your diaphragm you have to engage a multitude of muscles and her vigorous physical training from a child to DC gave her the ability to automatically engage those muscles when singing. As well her singing lessons and practice have done just that too

It’s a really good comparison of mezzo-soprano and soprano.
Bey’s low notes sound way more hard and condensed and focused. Keke’s lows are there but start to disappear/get breathy and un-firm below C3. They sound more labored also.
On the top end of the chest voices however, Bey can reach about as far as Keke but her highs have less body and she hits em quick and comes right off them immediately.
The head voices are the best comparisons for their voice types. Beyoncé’s head notes, as a mezzo, sound darker and more “crying”-like in quality and more womanly. Keke’s head notes, as a soprano, are pink and bright and fluttery like a bird.
I appreciate your comment, it actually fairly assesses both of them and acknowledges the technicalities and qualities of their voice types. Too many people always just basing everything on runs and tone.

It will never happen, but I would rather see them sing together live to really show a battle. I love Beyonce, but KeKe just has the better range to me. I also like other great singers like Jennifer Hudson, Faith Evans, etc. who have belted onstage with KeKe. I love when greats do vocal runs together. Shows great respect.
She has a ‘higher’ range. Keke is a natural soprano.. Beyoncé’s voice sits lower about a major 3rd or so.. which is why her voice sits lower bey has a wider range in general .. it extends lower into the 2nd octave and higher in the 6th during head voice

@@dspencer8895 I should have clarified.. You’re right Keke’s tessitura sits about a major 3rd higher than Bey’s. Keke’s upper chest/mixed voice extends higher into the 5th octave (G#5-Bb5)
I’m not sure if her head voice peaks higher as well. Bey’s caps out around Eb6 (and that was nearly 10 years ago).

Tone is subjective. They have literally about the same range. Actually technically Beyoncé’s is larger because she’s over 4 full octaves.

They're not comparable, Beyonce is a Coloratura Mezzo, while Keke is a Spinto Soprano. Based on the coloring of their voices, weight and tessitura. Beyonce strength is her agility and technique. Keke strength is her Power and stamina.

Bey's mid-belts have a rounder and more open quality - maybe more relaxed - whereas Keke sometimes sounds like she's really holding on to the note with a degree of certain degree of tension. Especially the notes Keke holds out without vibrato for a long time sound just slightly closed/tight.
I think Beyoncé has more tools but keke has range . I don’t think there’s any riffs either could do that the other couldn’t.

Beyoncé for me... Her Its precision, its support is incalculable. Besides that the choice of notes was not the best.
I did not want to use the same old clips we see on every Beyonce vocal showcase/battle. I wanted my video to reflect their current vocal state which is why I primarily used recent clips (with some exceptions).

They’re both so great. They’re like Yin/Yang in that they have a lot of similar qualities but also make up for where the other lacks.
I used to prefer Keke’s tone but Beyoncé’s voice has this fantastic dark quality and roundness to it now that came with each pregnancy. And she keeps that roundness from the top of her head voice and belts to her lows. Even when she does a quick upper belt, it’s dark and round (when it’s not pushed).
That said, I think she needs to adjust some things to account for how her pregnancies dropped her voice so much. Even singing Eb5, and sometimes D5, she seems to need to lighten it A LOT more now and doesn’t sustain it. If she has recently sustained these notes with vibrato in the last couple years, y’all can let me know.
Her versatility has expanded astronomically. Her ear is better than Keke’s in my opinion. Part of that comes with actually pursuing other genres, and learning what fits into each. So musically, I prefer her by far because I know I’ll get variety and more competence. She cares about her vocals being used for her art.
KeKe has a tone that isn’t as warm, but it’s not like a cold dramatic voice either. I love the tone of her voice more Eb5 and up vs below that. She is a larger voice too, with a range that hasn’t been affected by her 39 pregnancies at all. She’s fortunate for that, but obviously her technique is strong enough to withstand it...though I’ve heard her adjust her upper belts a bit over the last few years to make them easier and more slicing. I also don’t always care for her vibrato in her mid belts and low notes. She is a great candidate to play Martha Wash (besides looking a bit like her), but I don’t know if she could nail Martha’s insanely fast and even vibrato.
Keke is so naturally skilled, to the point she and others call her anointed. That anointed feeling leaves me real quick when I hear her do the same scales over and over. She’s very predictable. When given the mic and with no prior warning, I’ve heard her do the same vocal lines in a number of videos. She has the technique and the tone, just like Beyoncé, to cover everything. She’s comfortable in her genre which is fantastic, but she needs to expand on the vocal lines. She values art that can show off her vocals.

You don’t constantly force TA alone to produce higher notes, that causes the surrounding muscles to overcompensate for the extra and unnecessary effort you’re putting in or in simple terms, it causes strain, which is why you engage CT WHILE keeping the closed quotient of chest. Go review Dr. Ingo’s studies on it, there’s some good stuff there. I don’t see how that’s so hard to understand. Then again, I do see it and quite clearly because in studying you’ll also find that terminology is an issue in the vocal community. In conclusion, my point still stands.

I think keke Wyatt and Kierra sheard would be a good comparison. They sing so similar to me but the main difference I noticed is Wyatt sounds more like a woman while Kierra has a younger sounding voice. I also think keke wyatt and Shelea Fraiser are neck and neck. Also that lady from the Tyler Perry plays. Her name is D'atra Hicks. Her and keke wyatt both have that "Patti LaBelle" affect.

Karen Clark sheard has said she does not sing as high as she use to when she was younger which makes sense. Wyatt can hang with Karen in terms of notes. But that spontaneous freaky placement of runs and scats is unique to Karen!!

Keke sometimes does the same descending run at the end of every song. Karen is just an around animal to me. She just goes for those dramatic runs in any key and even sneaks in little soft light runs too if you keep ur ears open. No wonder where Kierra gets it from. I think Twinky is creative too.

Very cool matchup! I personally was more impressed with Keke maybe because of her ease above C5. That's when her voice really "takes off" (since she's a soprano). Beyonce is amazing but her clips were honestly underwhelming while keke's were more impressive.

Lows: Tie (edge to Keke since she can go lower into the 2nd octave - live).
Mid-Belts: Keke. Which is very surprising considering that Bey's voice sits lower but her fourth octave notes below Bb4 are very underwhelming. 😔
Upper-Belts: Both are very close up to Eb5 but after that Keke takes over and it's a wrap.
Head Voice: Tie until B5 but once the sixth octave starts Keke dominates. Most of Bey notes after the high C are not sung (just exclamations).
Vocal agility: Keke. She's a lot faster. That last run in the video is INSANE.
Overall, Keke takes it. Both are great but she edges out Bey in several areas. I can hear a little bit of Karen Clark Sheard in Keke's voice not sure if she was inspired by her or her sisters.

Beyoncé actually goes lower live, and consistently, and AUDIBLY at that! Beyoncé eats the mid belts, they just chose the worst clips. Beyoncé last tour clears every mid belt of keke. Beyoncé takes upper belts all the way to F5. Beyoncé has better head voice notes, especially up to C#6. Y’all just think that because keke voice sits higher she automatically wins. Beyoncé has plenty of sung D6s-F6s. Beyoncé is literally a coloratura, which naturally makes her voice naturally faster, accurate, and agile. Beyoncé is classically trained, which is why she clearly edges out Keke. Beyoncé’s voice is more resonant, full, and connected.

They both sing in very healthy ways Beyoncé’s full lows were left out she has an A2 that wasn’t shown and most of keke’s lows were very inaudible. Those mid belts were where Beyoncé got snubbed. Being that she currently blossoms in her mid belts nowadays and you used older videos gave keke the edge up. Beyoncé should’ve won that but due to the video selection I’d give it to keke. Keke has a naturally higher voice than Beyoncé so that on top of her really good technique she soars in her high notes regardless of how many babies lol no shade to the queen. Keke never carried no twins I don’t think. I love keke’s head voice her ease up there is incredible. This was a great video regardless tho thanks for an updated battle on these two!🙏🏾👏🏾
Keke is able to produce a healthy, free, and connected sound down to an Eb3 (consistently) - that's very good for a Soprano.
Where is this A2 for Beyoncé? Based on my research she has never sang below Bb2. I don't count any notes spoken or in the studio (especially in the background). Lol.
I tried to be as fair as possible with the note selection. I wanted to stick to sustained notes and we all know Beyoncé rarely sustains her notes especially in the 4th octave.
Keke has birthed a total of 10 children (7 more than Beyoncé) and her voice is still soaring and gotten better in some areas (lows + middle).
It's unfortunate that Beyonce's voice has drastically "declined" in recent years - especially her belting. On her last tour she was even tensed in the lower 5th octave. Her ease is no longer there. That being said her lower register has gotten stronger and her head voice is thicker (even though the few 6th octave notes she used to have are gone). Hopefully she can retrain her voice to a vocal approach that's better suited for her current instrument.

Beyoncé rarely sustains in the fourth octave?😅 I’d have to disagree. Have you heard her cover of somewhere by Barbra Streisand. Or her cover of precious lord take my hand. Those just off of the top of my hand have sustained fourth octave notes throughout the songs not to mention her singing halo back to back for years sustaining all kinds of notes in the encores of her tours. Keeping it as fair as possible would’ve been using nothing but videos after her first child. Beyoncé gradually grew into her instrument as she got older as all singers do. Keke was nowhere near Beyoncé’s age in most of these videos.
While it is true that keke has more children, which I’ve always been aware of being that I’ve met her and her children, keke does lack in areas that Beyoncé chooses not to like tonal quality (placement which can in turn increase or decrease one’s range) and musicality (note choice, timing, and rhythm) which is what makes the two so different yet so similar being that those areas are basically subjective when it comes to comparing in the way that you’re doing. And I was just saying carrying twins is not the same as carrying an individual child. There are so many more risks. Not to downplay keke but I’m sure if she carried twins half as many times as she’s gotten pregnant she definitely wouldn’t sound the same.
I don’t think Beyoncé should retrain anything her voice is still beautiful the way it is. The difference between keke and Beyoncé is Beyoncé has a 20+ year CAREER of singing on keke which can do some wear and tear on the voice regardless of technique. That’s a lot of set dates of singing when you think about tours. Then you must include the incredibly undeniable fact that Beyoncé’s songs are not, nor have ever been, easy to sing in her entire almost 30 year career.
Keke is a great vocalist and Beyoncé is a formidable musician.
@@Urfav4444 Most Sopranos in popular music have an underdeveloped chest voice - Ariana Grande is one of them. Her entire lower register is pretty much air escaping her cords due to lack of closure. The lowest note I've heard from her with decent connection is an A3 - anything below that is only audible because she's using a microphone. Lol. 😂

That "Somewhere" performance happened almost 2 decades ago. She has not sustained a B4 for that long ever since & her precious lord rehearsal was included for her C5 (the performance is copyrighted). Lol.
Every pregnancy is risky regardless of the amount of children you are carrying - Beyoncé is a great example of this matter. Her voice was already declining after her first pregnancy - it just wasn't as noticible. Now days, the "decline" is very evident - no technique in the world can hide it. Lol.

I definitely believe she has to make some modifications to her vocal technique - not because there's anything wrong with her voice but because her tessitura isn't the same. She can't not continue to approach her music catalog as if she has the same voice she did 20 years ago.
Also, Keke has been singing since she was a child & professionally since 1990. She has been singing just as much as Beyoncé. Just because she's not singing in arenas does not mean she isn't singing. Also, Beyoncé does not sing everything live in her concerts (I've attended 3 of her tours) - she loves to use pre-recorded vocals & lip sync to them. Lol. 😄
Keke is also a very knowledgeable musician and songwriter not just a talented vocalist. Sometimes she does the most when performing but that's primarily because she grew up singing in the church (that's what they do) and also the fact that her vocal abilities are endless does not help. Lol.

I’m well aware how risky all pregnancies are but each pregnancy is different for the most part; however, carrying twins does come with some exceptions. You can have one child and something go so wrong that it will probably kill you the next child you may decide to have; however, I’m not a female to be able to speak on this topic too much but I know better to understand that having twins does not equate to having a single child in any way. I am well aware of Beyoncé’s voice changing as well.
Keke’s life as a singer was NOTHING like Beyoncé’s life as a singer. Having to sing a show on a show on tour, interviews, tv show performances some all in one day then every things all take a toll on your voice. Keke being the d-list celebrity she is obviously did not have this life. No disrespect towards her in anyway I’m just saying the vocal wear and tear that I speak of is real and unfortunately it was inevitable for someone of Beyoncé’s stature.
I’m aware that Beyoncé did not sing live sometimes because like I said, her and keke did not live the same lives. Her vocal “decline” that you keep speaking of is just something her voice was going to do anyway. Her voice got darker by her third album before she even had kids. That is just the way her voice is my bestfriend has no children and her voice got drastically deeper as she got older as well. So her having kids did nothing but set her back (emergency section) as her voice continued to gradually get deeper. And actually, Keke does perform more than Beyonce... Beyonce’s performing history the last decade or so was mostly only touring. Keke did those (smaller scale but her setlist is insane) and she also performs pretty regularly in other places. So to say that she performs less would be inaccurate. Keke does more singing on regular basis than Beyonce.
And Beyonce’s voice did deteriorate (as did Keke’s actually in some way). Beyonce’s wobble got wider and more prominent along with her clarity in the range above passaggio disappearing. Her lower register is pushed down now and she goes low purely by engaging the valsalva manuever and vestibular folds engagement.

Well i finally tried to test my vocal range : it’s from E2 to G#6 , i think it’s good cause i’m a boy! But from A3 to G4 i use the belting , from A4 to G5 i use falsetto/head voice , from A5 to G#6 i use whistle tone , this last one is so hard !
