Hey Christal, amazing video, it’s always refreshing to see you around here ❤. Can’t wait to see all these makes. I would choose the Vivienne coat, it’s a lovely silhouette 😊
I love your music introduction! It’s great that you are back to making videos. Great planning video. I’m on a self induced fabric buying ban myself. Take a look at the Octave coat by Love Notions. But I’d like the Sew over it coat.
I like to see you make the Rumana coat. I just bought the pattern, but I’m not ready to make it myself yet. Be great to hear feedback on it. Love the colour of the wool you have for it. X
Are the pins silicone heads? Very interesting bits in this vlog about sewing tools. Paying more isn’t alway better😊 Love the SewOver it coat x x Debbie x
No the pins are just plastic heads I'll let you know how the rotary cutter blades do and which coat I finally decide on!. Sew over it coat is less intimidating I think as it's not fitted as such X
If I was sewing the coat I would choose the Vivienne coat, only because it looks easier (less pieces etc.) but since you are so experienced and you have sewn a lot and you like the Rumana coat the best - Go for it! Lovely fabric and lovely lining - its going to look great! I have problems with spots not cutting with my rotary cutter too - but always thought it was me putting uneven pressure on the blade - so I prefer really sharp scissors (unless I'm cutting slippery fabrics like Bemberg lining) Always nice to see you!
Thanks Lynn. I think the Vivienne is the easier option too I need a new pair of fabric scissors really but do prefer either my electric scissors or the rotary X
Ooh, please choose the Rumana coat...I just bought the pattern for £5 in a sale! I heard that fitted coats are coming back in fashion! What special equipment might you need to sew it? A tailor's Ham?
xXX👍👍👍

Thank you. I am leaning towards the Vivienne as it's probably the easier of the two X

Thank you for your suggestion of the Octave. I'll have a look X
Thanks for the mention - looking forward to seeing your Vivienne! It's a big old job but I do wear mine loads x
Shell completed - love the fit but I think my lining is too snug? 😢
@@mysewcialthread oh no 😢
I think the first coat you showed, classic
Thank you for your vote X

Thank you. It does look a little scary. I'll let you know what I choose x

I think it’s better if u make a voile for any coat so that if there was any alterations to be done.
Yes, I will definitely be making a toile. I'm currently watching tailoring videos on craftsy and it's getting me excited!

Tailors ham and sleeve log thingy 😂 . Also a clapper for crisp seams. Tailors Interfacing too. The Vivienne is the easier option so we'll see. ..
Oh dear...I don't have any of those sewing accessories yet...sounds expensive. I have got the fabric though!
@@lizzyhart1781 I only have the clapper. Will try and source the tailors ham (£18) and sleeve roll (£13) too.
