Usually I find washing up liquid alone is enough & I never rub. Just flood area with liquid, fold rest of fabric over area put in machine & leave overnight. ❤
Please don't stop "ramabling" about your family and home life! I enjoy it whole- heartedly! Hearing about your days with your family brings back memories and a lovely, warm feeling of my own upbringing. I am not Cathoic myself but much of my extended family was/is and my sister grew up to become a nun. We were two of five children. My mother taught me to sew when I was 13 and how to embroider when I was 7. My sister also loved making things and Mom, Ann and I were very creative. Your adaptions are very clever and I think when you find a tried and true pattern, make adaptions to your fit and lifestyle, that is the best that sewing can be!
Thanks Katherine! How wonderful you have a nun in the family! What Order is your sister with? Lovely memories of your mum teaching you these creative skills We have 2 priests in the family and one seminarian. X
@@mysewcialthread My sister was a Dominican nun and worked and live in Hayward, California. It is associated with Mission San Jose. Very sadly, she passed at the age of thirty of cancer. My memories of her and my mother are very dear.❤️
@@katherinejohnson3516 wow a Dominican! Our brother is a seminarian with the Fraternity (FSSP) in Nebraska. Another brother is a priest in Toronto, Canada. May her soul rest in peace. X
One of the things that might be bothering you about Zachary's shirt is that the cuff buttonhole should probably be perpendicular to the edge of the fabric, rather than parallel to it.
Yes, that's true. I realized that as soon as finished the buttonhole. 🤣 I think the fact that the print reminds me more of pyjamas than a shirt is annoying me x
Another lovely video and I always enjoy the various changes you make in the garments to personalize them , such as the zippers for breast feeding access. As far as handling the tops of zippers, the process I was taught in school home economics a good 60 years ago now is the stop the zip just a bit shorter than yours and place a hook and eye at the top and I have always done it that way be it for dresses or skirts and slacks. It still leaves a bit of an open gap at the very top but I never worried about that since it was the accepted way of doing it. If there is a new way of handling that maybe some of your other followers could enlighten us. I have a nice supply of hooks and eyes in black, white, and stainless steel. There are a few different styles of hooks and eyes and they vary in the manner they come together. You need to place them back from the edges of the opening to get the best possible closure of the top.
Hi I'm glad you discussed the zip tops. I'm always scared to trim seams in case it frays too much. I do cut the top of the zip tapes but it annoys me when it looks like a Y at the top 🙂
Fantastic peony hack. great vlog thanks
Thank you for watching X
Lovely makes and I appreciate how you explain the pattern and any construction problems. Thank you!
Thank you for watching Gail X

Lovely makes. Sewing and chat is great! Would be amazing if you could explain, or show, how you have done the fab pattern matching!
Yes, ok, I'll try and discuss that in my next vlog. Thank you for watching. X
I look forward to that@@mysewcialthread

Thank you. That is a good idea and probably the best solution. X
Chat is great for me, fabulous pattern matching 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Yes, it just spoils the end of a perfectly good zip! I guess the best thing to do is to add a small hook and bar to close the top?
@@mysewcialthread or a small button on inside with a thread loop 🙂
