I used to drive from Mahwah, NJ there to meet my best friend from Greenwood Lake, NY back in the 90's. The Best/Worst time was after Hurricane Floyd. The waterfall was like a power washer because there was so much drain off from the floods. Little did we know that meant the "swimming area" had turned into a whirlpool of death. I and 3 of my closest friends almost died. Had a great time though 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤣
Ringwood, NJ Get a nice ticket if you get caught, which is highly likely as I've been caught. Be polite to the rangers, your ticket can go from $70 to $1000 real quick.
Ruining it for EVERYBODY, EVEN THE TAXPAYERS...Because some kid's dead body got pulled out in 2016, don't get enticed by this video - as much as I'd love to jump in too. This is in Long Pond Ironworks SP (Ringwood/Hewitt/W. Milford) and there are NUMEROUS signs WARNING the ENTIRE AREA IS OFF-LIMITS. The SP patrol REGULARLY - so you might want to write this one off your list unless you got a good lawyer - or meet a nice, understanding cop. Good luck with either! Fun video, though!
Go up to the Catskills and you'll find some REAL fun falls and swimming holes not yet 'controlled'... And I don't agree with off-limits for all. Survival of the fittest?
My family grew up there in the Managers house. My uncles used to jump off of the trees into this water. My mother still has film footage
