Greetings from Argentina I have a crown xls 2500 which in its output stage has an NSS20201L Low VCE(sat)NPN And in Argentina there is no such transistor. Do you know if I can replace it with a normal NPN one? From already thank you very much
Hi Jordan, I have one of the XLS models and in sleep mode the strobing lights give me the shits. Do you recall if they are SMD or through hole discrete led's? I'm contemplating covering them over or disabling them on the board (the front cover doesn't facilitate hiding the obnoxiousness of these). Also curious if you know what the power draw is in "Standby"?
I have the xls 2500 (earlier version) and it exhibit the same issue with that amp in this video. The only difference is that i displays "error 404". I don't know what is so i tried to fix it by plugging and unplugging it multiple times until i hear the "double click" and then it works again. But sometimes when it doesn't work i just go back to it some other day and it's working again. Is it the same issue with the one on your video or something else? What does "error 404" mean. Hope you can answer this. Thank you ao much.
A prestigious company before made in Elkhart. 🇺🇲 Now since it's sold it's only Made in China! Nothing to do with the real Crown of the time! Now it's Cheap. Next.
God Damnit. Must have seated it wrong. It started to come on properly then shorted out and blew the amp. Be careful to clean thoroughly before replacing the cable, especially when the amp was left semi-outdoors in a shed or something and accumulated bits or rust or corrosion.
I have an crown xti 2002 that was doing the same thing at turning on but i also had All leds on both sides on. Can be detected on pc. So i turn it on,no fan, display on but blank and the leds are all on. Did you ever met this problem,or any ideea what should i look for? Ex owner claimed is an firmware error but didn't want to give more details
It's a switching power supply inside. Unless you have a good understanding of electronics I would not recommend such a modification there is super high voltage inside that can be lethal. Having said that prehaps you could use a large step down transformer? This is a plug and play option
This is good information...I own this same model since 2016. Works perfect so far.
Thanks for the comment Mike, glad you enjoyed it. Hopfully your amp runs well for many years to come.
Good to know since I own a variant of that amp. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment Kyle, glad you enjoyed it.
It looks interesting that only two small heat sink and small ic are used for 1000w output great technology by crown
It's 215w in to 8ohms stereo the only way to get 1000w out of it is bridged in to 4ohms (1100w apparently) thanks for the comment. :)
@@jordanclarke2996 but mainly normal speaker are used at 4ohms load
@@jaypatel6801 350w per Chan in to 4 ohms 👍
@@jordanclarke2996 so this only made for tops of line array if we use in bridge at 4ohm load
@@jaypatel6801 I'm not sure what boxes and how many you have, Personally this amplifier would not be my choice for that application. Kind regards
Hi. Thank you for the video. Do you have the service manual ?
its the same problem with the newer version of xti series that uses the same kind of ribbon cable unlike the older version
Muy valioso el video...
Ahora no me queda claro cuando enciende bien el ventilador...
solo cuando levanta temperatura. esto para evitar que se llene de polvo

Hola, tengo exactamente el mismo amplificador y al encender muestra los led termicos encendidos,

if it was a firmware error it would never have worked. I also have the xti2002 but have never seen that problem.
Hi , where can i get crown 2000dsi series service manual?
I'm not sure sorry. If you can't get it from google try Crown.
Sir crown xls 1000 powe,.r supply not taking on please help me
but why at the end of the video the fan does not work?
It only runs when the temp goes up.
What the heck did you do besides probing around didnt see a fix
At the end of the video I said it was a boring repair video as after reseating the ribbon cable it came to life.
Jordan I have crown xls 1502 120v. I want to convert it to 220v. I will be happy for any help. Thank you.

Hi, just cut the Z901 jumper beside the power switch to able for you to operate at 220V.
@@eddavis6440 any photo available?
ohhh re-seat…Thought you said reset
I also have some amplifiers to repair that I can help with
I prefer the XLI
XLI is class AB, though.
wow, Crown has gone downhill these days...
Used to be built sooo much better...
Insides look cheap and tacky now...
Hi
