This happened to me today after I hit a bad patch of torn up rubberized asphalt on the freeway going 55-65mph. I'm hoping the TPS isn't the issue and that it's just a byproduct caused by hitting the torn up asphalt, as I'm usually good about avoiding it. Your video got me back on the road and home instead of having to call AAA. Thanks for sharing this, it really helped.
Man, thank you for the video! I was broken down or slowed down by the engine reduced power light. I followed your instructions and they 1:18 cured the issue. I would be curious to know if this a long time fix. But in any event, we got home. I consider it a RUclips miracle. THANK YOU!
This totally worked for me. God Bless RUclips videos lol. My ‘03 Suburban was getting worse with the reduce engine power every day that went by. I messed with that plug.....havent had a problem since. Frickin lifesaver, and money saver.
Okay so to post an update on reduced engine power. I did replace my throttle positioning sensor and that fix the problem and I haven't had that problem since I'd say it's been at least two months now the throttle position sensor is what tricked me and got me and once it was fixed it's all good I'll keep you updated hopefully that was the problem
I'll have to try this trick. I thought I fixed my "reduced engine power" issue last year but it started up today again. Last year I noticed the wire harness connection to the throttle body had a damaged clip and was loose. When the harness moved a bit then the "reduced power" would kick in. I replaced that and I also replaced the throttle body. The truck drove great for about a year - but today the error message is back. What I did today was I used the a scan engine tool to "erase' the code and it went away. But I'm still trying to find the permanent fix. It's a crazy issue. I have a 2008 GMC Sierra.
Thats actually a common issue with GM. I have an 04 Suburban now that had a frayed wire in that harness that was trippin the reduced power mode. Same thing happened to my friends Sierra.
While Im sure that trick worked for your particular issue, there are liiterally hundreds of other possibilities. Just add you solution to the long list of possible solutions. Thanks for sharing 😁👍
It took you 32 seconds to point out my problem. There wasn't anything wrong with it. I was running a wire and unplugged it slightly with the sleeves on my shirt. THANKS. PS. MERRY CHRISTMAS
I used to unhook the battery terminal. Figured out all you have to do is cut the key off and open the door so the radio and computer cut off. Wait about ten fifteen seconds before you restart it so it has a chance to reset itself.
I was having trouble with the same thing when I crank it up in mornings usually when it’s cold… but I tried this wiggling that clip and it cranks up fine I think imma change the sensor u did and hopefully that’ll fix it
I have clean and checked all the grounds. Replace the TPS ($138.00). I was told there's 2 sensors so I'm trying to locate the 2nd one! And like everyone else the air bag l lights now on too!
Yeah Brandon I changed my throttle positioning sensor and haven't had the same problem since and it's been almost 2 years now so we're leaving to not have to do that shit all the time. Good luck to you I hope she keeps going
Does it happen alot? I have a brand new throttle body control module actuator the $400 dealer part literally did not fix the problem I can't keep having to clear out the codes myself now that I have a scanner but with a brand new battery even for some reason now my truck doesn't start anymore and every time I run it and drive it now after clearing the code even accelerating like a bastard trying to charge it it doesn't charge it and the truck has a brand new alternator because it was replaced a few years back when I redid the fuel pump and everything else it's basically had everything replaced and for some reason the dealership gave me back my truck broken with no start still even with a new battery which is what I don't get it's like the ground in the middle on the firewall is completely cut off not sure why I think that's the ground coming out of the MAF
How long did does this fix work for yall? I just bought a high milage 03 2500hd and im getting this issue every now and then. Sometimes 0x, sometimes 3-5x in a short drive. Is there a permanent or semi long term fix to this? From what I can tell, theres allot of potential factors that can cause this issue.
Low engine power comes on my 04 Chevy silverdo 2500hd truck it seems to do it after running for awhile around town and I start it up usually warm but never happens if truck off for 2 hours or more. I wait till it’s ready to start without low power and vibration then I can drive again. Will your trick work on my truck or is it a different problem?
Just had the same problem was on the side of the road google the problem your video popped up and it work on my 2004 2500hd 6.0 silverado. I saw you replaced the throttle position sensor. You still not having any problems?
I don't know what you need an orange cord for. If you're looking at the example of my truck that's a power cord for my amps. Anyway the two plugs on the box unplug the biggest one count to 5 and plug it back with the vehicle off
Exactly , he leaves that part out of the video, cause thats a temp fix, and he is getting all these people to think thats a permanent fix, which he himself doesnt know horrible vid
it gets reset when unplugged. I did post a comment about how i fixed problem by replacing throttle position sensor and been over a year without another problem
I went off a curb and got reduced engine power, thought i was outta luck, but this videos saved me! 2003 chevy suburban
I owe u a 24 pack of beer my good friends I was stuck 3 hours from home and this saved me a lot of money

That's just resetting the "Limp Mode" feature. Some problem with the vehicle caused it to go into Limp Mode in the first place.
You my friend are invited to my carnse asada, this helped me alot
I checked it out tomorrow.
If you get off and check your tire pressure real quick it fixes it too lol
Thank you sir
You've got to be kidding me... going to check mine now as i was in a low speed front end collision and this seems like a very likely candidate
I did this for a year and got frustrating. Changed my throttle body it hasn't came back yet. Fingers crossed
Yeah Brandon I changed my throttle positioning sensor and haven't had the same problem since and it's been almost 2 years now so we're leaving to not have to do that shit all the time. Good luck to you I hope she keeps going
I am getting a high rev during braking now lol. Rpms jump. It even got stuck at 2100 the other day. But it still beats the engine power mess!
I can’t find the switch on my GMC Yukon 2011
What exactly is being switched? What is it called?

Is it ti do with what sensor
What is the name of the switch that you pulled and then pushed back?
That’s what I’d like to know. He didn’t spend even 5 seconds showing which plug it was. I have no idea from his video
Just had the same problem was on the side of the road google the problem your video popped up and it work on my 2004 2500hd 6.0 silverado. I saw you replaced the throttle position sensor. You still not having any problems?

I have the 2 plugs there but no orange cord. Not sure what your switching. I'm on an 04 Chevy. I hate this problem. Surprise. Reduce engine
I don't know what you need an orange cord for. If you're looking at the example of my truck that's a power cord for my amps.
Anyway the two plugs on the box unplug the biggest one count to 5 and plug it back with the vehicle off
Oh. Thanks so much. Will do next time
service the air bag. now

Everytime it does that u have to get out and do that
Exactly , he leaves that part out of the video, cause thats a temp fix, and he is getting all these people to think thats a permanent fix, which he himself doesnt know horrible vid
So what exactly did you do to the box?
it gets reset when unplugged. I did post a comment about how i fixed problem by replacing throttle position sensor and been over a year without another problem
Thanks for that! I will try this soon!!
Can you shoot me an email I have questions demateojuan91@gmail.com
What wire was that ?
He is slick and fast, stupid video, that a temp fix, he doesnt no. Just tryin to get views, str8 capper
Of course this is a temporary fix right ?
Yes.it can last for long time though.
My truck has reduced power, shop said #2 cylinder is bad, and I would need another engine.
is this a constant problem for you or do u get reduced power once in awhile?
Get a second opinion
It's not a fix if you have to keep doing it.
😂😂😂
Troll post alert. There is no switch!!!!
What the hell is a troll post alert? There is no switch for what?
Thanks 🙏
