So as I talked about in the first video on this thing. We had an issue with reduced engine power. This is a common thing on gmc yukon, chevy tahoe, chevy silverado and gmc sierra. I also had this issue on my chevy suburban. While several people read the codes and choose to buy an aftermarket throttle body. That really doesn't always fix the issue. Aftermarket drive by wire throttle bodies especially on gm vehicles always seem to have issues. This causes you to spend more money on parts not needed. While I know others have had issues with grounds on these suvs. It was not the issue here. If you are in a cold environment or it usually happens in the morning, chances are it is the throttle body. The gm throttle body will start to show issues in the cold and will cause the reduced engine power mode or code. This is a simple fix and I also give you the torque specs for a gm dbw throttle body. Hit the Comments and let me know what you think.......

I’ve been dealing with the reduce engine problem for about 7 months I’ve replaced the throttle body with a duralast one since a GM one wasn’t available. And man this is the 3rd one I’ve swamped and it only works for a day or two. Always in the morning it would go into reduce mode. And in the afternoon there is no problem at all. Seeing your video now has me thinking i should buy the GM one. The duralast one made a noise like yours did when i picked it up as well. Thanks for the great video. I hope i am able to fix it with the GM throttle body.

Hey Travis I cannot thank you enough for your vid on the '04 Yukon Denali. EXCELLENT ADVICE SIR! Finally, I am Cruising in same vehicle, my daily/only driver:) As you predicted/mentioned, my problem was SOLVED by R&R THROTTLE BODY W GENUINE GM PART. When I removed the 1 year old TB that local shop replaced, guess who? Of Course it was an aftermarket Remanufactured Hitachi TB from Taiwan, that was purchased from a normally reliable source that begins with a Capital N. AGAIN, YOU WERE CORRECT that some of those are bad right out of the box or fail soon thereafter. Mine failed 4 months after install & I limped, and limped and almost gave up. Spent lots of money. Shop finally told me: "Cannot Fix, Take it to a Dealer In Miami". That's all I needed to hear and decided to TAKE TRAVIS' ADVICE and replace it myself. Detaching & Re-attaching those coolant hoses underneath w/o proper tools was a major hassle but your vid gave me confidence that I could finesse that w needlenose & handle this repair. Bolted on & she started right up, no idling issue. Put a couple hundred miles on it before I posted SUCCESS to you. Thanks again Brother, You are the best!

Hey Travis, Thanks so much for the video. Got a question about my 2007 Sierra 1500 truck. When you said “reduced power” did that also mean it was missing like firing on fewer cylinders?
The GMC dealer suggested to rebuild the top half of the motor. The mechanic is telling me it’s stuck in 4 cylinder mode. It has that 8 cylinder, 4 cylinder gas saving feature. My truck stopped running setting at a red light, it wasn’t moving but when I finally got it cranked it felt like it was firing on 2 cylinders. I’ve had small electronic issues in the past but nothing like this and I don’t know if switching from 8 cyl to 4 cyl is done electronically. Have you ever experienced a GMC stuck in 4 cylinder mode?
When I get the truck back I’m going to look at my ground wires. Thanks again for the video.

Cool video. My 03 Yukon does it once in a while but doesn't do it when it's cold. It does it after it's warmed up. I can start it fine and drive for a couple miles and once a start it again it gives me that reduce engine power. I just disconnect the harness and plug it back in and it goes away. You think it's the throttle body?

the rattle in the throttle body is normal when you rock it from side to side. I bought a new GM TB ported by kaytech for my 2018 6.2 and it made that sound. I was a little concerned, but then I pulled out the original one from my truck and it did the same exact thing.

I have the same limp mode issue with my 2003 gmc Denali 6.0. It will at times do it when I hit a bump, other times for no particular reason. I can pull off the road sit for 20 seconds, fire it up and take back off. Sometimes I’m good the rest of the drive, other times it’ll do it 5 times in the next 5 minutes. Had throttle body replaced, pedal sensors, knock sensors. Sounds like I need to confirm it was a gm tb and check my grounds. Does this sound like the place to start?
I also have weird intermittent cabin lighting issues where they are often dim and then will randomly be really bright as they should be. Think it’s related and any ideas?
Thanks for the great vid and comments on here!

Excellent vid Sir. I also have an '04 Yukon Denali XL that I bought 5 years ago w 170K/223k now. Same color but yours looks much nicer. It is also my daily driver and I use it to tow a sm skiff for my charter biz. Always ran perfectly. Love it! Many months ago the T/C light would come on periodically and it would go into Reduced Power mode. Pull off the road, wait a few seconds and restart and all is fine for approx 5 miles. Took it to my local shop here (I had to get it running ASAP & did not have time to R&R the TB myself) in the Keys and they replaced Throttle Body and both front wheel sensors. Ran fine for 4 MONTHS, now I have the same problem constantly. Undrivable now. They used an aftermarket TB. I would sincerely appreciate any advice. R&R TB w genuine GMC part? Thanks again for the explicit vid. Please advise Sir. Thank you very much.
