Abbott was EXTREMELY slow in acting as he has. Circumstances had to reach such a crisis that he could no longer do as the Chamber of Commerce wanted. His use of the National Guard was mostly a joke. A toothless show of force that had no power to do anything. Only the Border Patrol has the authority. Abbott did nothing about the NGO facilities working in Texas that facilitated illegal aliens travel across the state and nation. He did not shut them down. He did not prosecute them for human trafficking. There are things Abbott could have done. He could have banned hiring illegals in the state.
