Ive seen the site entries on a few camp site search maps so it was interesting actually seeing what it consisted of. I have camped at various places using the motorcycle and car and certainly condone the merits of being able to park the Bike next to your Tent. I get that the owners may not want their pitches "chewed up" with wheel marks from vehicles (Cars),but speaking from experience as a car camper it really is a pain in the butt having to park a car away from the Tent. I tend to store most of daily kit in the boot so its pretty annoying and inconvenient having to shuttle back and forth. you didn't mention it ,but i know some sites have a wheeled trolley to help you transfer the heavier items to a pitch. As you pointed out £15 a night seems to be the going rate these days for car and passenger ok for a car but I feel a little expensive for a Rider and Tent. Good review Thanks

Thank you Tony….yes I’d agree also about parking next to the tent, even in a car, and see it as almost essential on the bike if only just to keep an eye on it! It’s not many that have this rule, at least not the ones I’d normally go to and generally I wouldn’t use a site unless bike is next to or very close, but for some sites, like this one, I sort of understand not having the cars on the grass and they did have carts, or might have been wheelbarrows, can’t quite remember! Funny thing was in the morning I was chilling out with a coffee in my comfy chair knowing I could finish my packing in about 30 minutes watching guys with large bungalow tents sweating away back and forward from pitch to car…must admit I had a smug smile as I watched 😂 on serious note, I’ve noticed escalating costs since Covid and quite often coming across sites that want £20-25 for solo motorcycle and small tent and often nothing special about the sites! Luckily I still find good value In beautiful locations and prefer basic old fashioned camp sites. Thanks again for watching, not sure if you’ve seen there’s a playlist with campsite reviews, useful for quick look 👍🏻

Super job on the review Sir. Kind regards.
Edit; maybe they could charge £9 per adult, £6 carparking: but then 'carparking charge to be waived' if min charge of £15 is met by number of adults/children in same party - or words to similar effect.

Thank you for the feedback, I think they may be reviewing charging but let’s watch this space, all the best Andrew

I stayed at the black swan many years ago and thought Ravenstonedale is a good base. So I’ll be looking for the campsite and visiting a camp site that is how camping used to be 👍

Thoroughly enjoyed watching this Andrew 👍🏻. Yeah i must have passed that place umpteen times dropping down to Sedbergh from Kirkby Stephen, and yes it's a lovely part of Cumbria / North Yorkshire 👌🏻. I couldn't just fathom out though as the backdrop looked all the same, but you wouldn't have been far from the top end of Swaledale where the Tan Hill public house is, and then you've got the Owen family from TV fame who run Ravenseat farm just over the hill in the background. In fact I think Amanda from the farm has started doing cream teas again, so anyone camping where you are there, well it would be only half hours drive or ride away.
Lovely camp site that, but like another commenter added, a little to noisy with the kids screaming, but one understands they do have to play and enjoy themselves.
All the best, and look forward to your next upload 👍🏻

Cheers Dave, funny but same for me and only found as needed somewhere at short notice…about 20 minutes 😆 yes, Tann Hill just over them hills and a cream tea at Ravenseat sounds good! To be fair, the site is geared to be ‘family’ friendly but with my eldest about to turn 40 I know what you mean 😂 👍🏻
