Take your hinge repair kit to a machinist and have the bushings made of steel. One guy did it to his 2000 chevt s10 and its been 2 years and smooth as silk. Im doing mine at the moment. Its a hassle and a lot of running around but Im retired and all I have is time to play with vehicles.😁
Steel on steel will need to be lubricated to keep from wearing. That’s why all bearings/bushings are made from a softer metal with self lubricating properties

@@Calikov762 Brass deforms and just breaks because the holes are not round. Its just an old vehicle and the repair will out live me.I m very old.
