Really sad news indeed... I was so very involved with the site in the years leading up to the release of D3... I don't even know who owns the website anymore, but I guess it's not making them money. Btw I remember you from the forums! Doomscream here!
@@D0omscream hey man! Long time no see. Yeah I remember when the owner at the time was at Blizzcon, same one they announced Diablo 3. Poor guy only had some biscuits that day. If I am remember ING correctly. Feel free to contact me here Doomscream. We should hang, digitally. Cheers!
I used to hover around that site endlessly in anticipation. I think that D3 was the last game I actually felt "attached" to. I lost interest when it became a race against a clock. I was the weirdo who would pop every barrel and chest and explore every last corner in D2 even if it wasn't part of the main story. I felt like the changes to D3 didn't encourage that anymore. All of the bounties prioritized hyperfocused play and then the timers on rifts emphasized mobility and damage above all else in a build.
if activision-blizzard shifts their focus away from "their" community, maybe the community should start moving their focus away from activision-blizzard as well...
I quit WoW in 2015, and discontinued playing the rest of their games after BlizzFiasco 2018. There's nothing good that came out of that evil corp since. activision isn't quite separable from blizzard anymore though. If you speak of Activision you speak of Blizzard and the other way around, the company is Activision-Blizzard as they're 1 entity now. With that in mind, I'm assuming you're touching on an Activision originated dev team working on those then?

I think the best middle ground they could strike would be something similar to PoE. Anyone should be able to beat Kitava (don't know the actual numbers as I am not on my PC). Content beyond this gets harder with builds needing to be more and more optimised if you want to beat Atziri, guardians, Shaper, Elder etc. The challenge for the most hardcore players is maintained while still letting your average player feel like they beat the main game.
When I got my 3 teams to lvl 6, I couldn't powerlevel a replacement priest after my two died in consecutive missions with the best items I had (My occultist just couldn't heal well enough)... That's why I stumbled in the end-game, and never completed it.

Blizzard is in a place where they can never recover to the damage done to the community! They might make money but they will not recover the love they lost from fans! So Sad!!!
They could, but I think the bigger problem which isn't publicized as much is the loss of talents in the mid and low tier and people who work in that industry already know that Blizzard isn't a good place to work anymore, so they aren't poaching the very best like before. Now they are getting the second/third best or worse. Also, the higher ups are being changed to pro Activision ones and their in house talents have even less incentives to stay there like before.
If we're honest, Blizzard has always been pretty shit tier at community issues. This wasn't a problem in the early days when they were churning out great games that blazed trails in each genre they entered. They have never been responsive to concerns and suggestions from their customers, not in any game.
@@MrVvulf I think you are right, but Blizzard community is also very toxic. One of the worse IMO, but every big franchise fanbase is toxic I guess. During WC3 they were very slow to fix some blatant exploits and inbalances. Also, they implemented changes to fix unimportant things like smurfing, but ended up causing other problems elsewhere. They never addressed these properly. As response, the community just spammed the forums with troll posts. Very immature war from both sides. However, these times were way better than during D3 and SC2 when they brought lead designers from elsewhere (jay Wilson and Dustin Browder) to make their flagship games. They bullshit the community so much and were much slower and condescending during these times (remember the no chat fiasco in SC2 and the whole D3 before major itemization patch). As you can see these once great franchises lost lot of its fanbase because subpar games and response. If TeamLiquid didn't branch out of Starcraft 2, they would be as dead as Diablofans.
@MrVvulf That's not entirely true. On DiabloFans (back then Diablo3 before Blizzard paid them for the domain name) Blizzard had a blue user (someone who worked for them in community outreach) named Bashiok who would request the site and drop updates on the developing D3 a and gather ideas from the fanbase to use in creation of the new game. They were always great in dealing with the community/fanbase. You obviously are new or just an ignorant fool with a loose tongue who doesn't really think before you speak.
Because it was rather crappy and weird several years ago. They improved the game over time. Back when it first came out combat felt super choppy and stiff.
Love for Blizzard? That is what keep me away from POE from years. Nowadays, I dont even remember if my last Hardcore char was still alive the last time I played. I just made me sad myself.
Gotta love when you have millions of people waiting to pay money for something, and they just say to themselves "well, nobody is interested" and they turn out the lights and go home.

That news was a bummer for sure, they cut 800 people's jobs and gave the CEO a 15 million dollar bonus after that. I have 1500 hours on my wizard alone in D3, but I'm switching to POE for now.
I have pirated quite a few games back in my teen years. Nowadays I just buy the games I know I'll definitely play. I've occasionally played with the thought of pirating a game I was interested in as a way to check if it's worth buying (Demos? What even are they?), but I usually ended up just waiting for a sale for those.
I still pirate games actually , here in my country is still a bit more bigger , we have our own torrent site too , i get my games there , faster speeds then on piratebay . Now i know there is Steam and there may be some really good discounts but from what i can tell there are still plenty of people how prefer to torrent them , i mean it is free after all and not everyone can afford to buy all the games they want , or have powerfull enough PC . I usually get older games , or indies that i know my PC, (laptop now i guess, still need to fix the PC ) can run them perfectly and yea i miss when demos where a big thing , now you see them only on some jap made games pretty much , it is still good that they still exist but western industry pretty sure abandone it .
Hey, does anyone know what the lightning beam-like attack in the POE section is? I have never seen that skill in game before, and would love to get my hands on it.
Addressing your Darkest Dungeon 2 question: No. I've not completed it, despite buying all the things for it. A player doesn't need to complete the game in order to enjoy the majesty that is Darkest Dungeon. It did get slightly grindy near the end, but it wasn't enough for me to not recommend the game to whomever is within earshot, and the player didn't actually need to grind. Apex Legends solo/duo modes, they did state that they tried those internally and that it felt bad compared to a 3 man squad, so they had no plans to include it. I'm not surprised with fan sites confidence in Activision/Blizzard. They showed this last Blizzcon and onwards blatantly that they are not the Blizzard that they built these fan sites around, they are Activision/Blizzard.
@@dizzy2020 The entertainment value is 'things went bad, what do you do now?'. I get that you (and a lot of people) might not be entertained by that, but that's where the entertainment value lies. It doesn't hide that this is what the game's about.
I still not understanding why people still naming "build" to things that clearly aren't. Diablo 3 never got builds, you will never need to chose between skills having them all, they are only situational decisions, like what weapon or spell to use, that is not a build, is a "spell book system".
I remember like 12ish years ago I pirated games, I had no money ect, I've since forgotten how to even do it, been buying them ever since my first job. Made sure to buy all the games I've pirated since then, I'm paranoid af lol

Anyone else notice the mic he's replacing is not as good as the black one he usually uses? Did they send him a lesser mic to use to make a larger contrast when he swaps in the $200 one? 1:08 After the swap is made, he holds up the older one (which is black and sounds much better than the silver one he started the video with). So what was with the silver mic at the start of the video?
If you check my previous video, you'll see that I'm using the silver mic. It's because the black one broke down after 4.5 years :( I was temporarily using the silver one (my fiancee's) until the new one arrived. But good eye!
Gabe has always said piracy was a service problem, not a price problem. And he was right. It's amazing that he actually managed to find a way to beat 'free' as an option, but he did it. And yeah, thinking of pirating a game just makes me feel tired cause I remember all the hoops I had to jump through to do it. Steam downloads it at as much speed as my connection can handle, updates it automatically whenever a patch comes out, even has integrated mod support via the Workshop. I'm not going back.
Pirated when I was younger and am in the same boat as you-pirated when I was younger because I didn’t have money. Now that I am older I pay for everything because I want to support the creation of more of the things I enjoy.
I have to say, I discovered your channel just recently through your excellent "Diablo Lore" videos (which you still have to continue btw!), the work you put in these videos is really showing and I wanted to say, that it is really appreciated! Continue the good work mate :)
For somebody who is so into ARPGs I'm surprised to see little/no mention of Grim Dawn on this channel, or the fact that the newest expansion is launching soon. 40 plus hours into Anthem and its a blast even with a hand full of bugs. It needs more content as max level and missions has come and gone and as of now just replaying on Grand-Master 2. I am also mid way through completing all the achievements. The mobility and free roam combined with multi-player is what will make this game. Not saying the visuals are bad because they are magnificent, at least on a 2080-TI. With updates BioWare will be able to shut the naysayers down. I could only wish for A DIABLO GAME with similar play style (open world) and DARKER environment..., it would be Nasty. Imagine replacing Javelins with a Diablo roster..OMG IS ALL I CAN SAY. Come On BliZZ............ Keep the videos coming as they are great as always.
Blizzard seems to have totally lost touch with their fans. The proof was their surprise at our rejection of a mobile diablo. That said volumes about their disconnect. They "may" make a good Diablo for PC in the future but, I wouldn't hold my breath.
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Long comment about piracy warning ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ 🤣 Piracy has a thing over retail stores. You can put all your games in 1 local folder, neatly arrange them, put icons and names that fit and you can always play them anytime you want. Paying for games is good while Steam is the top dog, but if that ever changes.. it will be less convenient to buy games again. 50 different stores and places for all your games, most of them wanting online connection to play, while pirated games dont. You can go to vacation and play pretty much any game, meanwhile.. you probably need net to play the newest Battlefield 5 game or whatever. If everything is digital, they probably need net..? I don't even know anymore, i just know Starcraft 2 needed net until they patched it in like 2012. ```So if steam goes away, piracy might get bigger. ```If PC gaming splits into 500 stores.. (and has exclusive store deals.. wtf? wheres the choice) piracy might get bigger. ```If all pc games games that you can buy are online only, meanwhile pirated games can be played offline.. with less issues and hassles... piracy might get bigger. Once i learn about sales, once i start growing my PC steam and origin library.. it can be almost like catching Pokemon, you just gotta catch them all. If that goes away, might aswell go back to piracy, cuz i hate being split between my games. I also used to do that when i was around 13-19, but that's cuz i had to pay for the world of warcraft sub fee, which costed 50$ in my country for the 2 months of game time. 60$is the price of a full game and i was spending 50 monthly for WoW. This is the main reason why i pirated, meanwhile my friends did that because they couldn't pay for the net, power and build a computer under 20 years old. 1 thing is for sure, the developers of the pirated games didn't lose a dime, cuz my friends were poor as hell. They were never going to buy anything. Same goes for me, but my case was different, i used to play for 10 hours a day, just world of warcraft. Who has time for other games? Even if they are free. So sometimes its true, piracy does not always means a lost sale, probably means it in alot of cases but not all. None of my cases and my friends cases.
ShortyOrc 1 Diablo was great when it came out, but this diablo didn’t do enough to improve on the original. It took YEARS to get about half the classes and about one one hundredth of the content the game needed to survive. Way too little, waaaaaaay too late.
I though about that too. But I came to a different conclusion. Diablo as a franchise and Blizzard as a developer are at an all time low now. Everybody's vision is kind of clouded by subjective dissaproval, hate and anger. (rightfully so) But, all being said, mark my word, if they manage to come up with something great looking innovative rebirth of the whole genre as the next epic diablo project, and they truly deliver something unique, ppl will flood back and forgive them for the dark times they brought about. They still can hit the reset button on their fame if they decide to give it a try. Tbh all they need is to create the best ARPG of the next decade, and their bill will be balanced in my book. Can they do it ? Will they try it ? I don't know, and at this point I hardly think so...
Shortyorc 1 love how you say it's all blizzards "official" doing let me ask, do you know that for sure? That Activision hasn't had their fingers in business decisions of theirs. Fact is nobody knows what is going on behind closed doors and the workers were laid off and so many from old blizzard are now gone. Personally if there is to be a solid launch of D4 Activision has to find a way to get the fans relationship with them back on solid ground, and maybe explain what happened a bit with the layoffs and such let alone reassure fans of what their product will be. If it is anything like the presentation of Diablo immortal people will in my opinion start moving more away from Activision than before and even if the results appear positive they'll need to prove themselves to the fans in general.
Everything about the activision-blizzard side of things is cash grabby now. They will listen to the fans, but it’ll most likely be a mediocre game with expensive cosmetic micro transactions that probably won’t even look that good.
Darkest Dungeon is supposed to be a difficult game. Even the intro says it. You have to make the best out of what you get, heroes will die. If they make it easier.. it will lose itself. It would be like Dark Souls.. but you oneshot every boss
I think there is a difference between a game being difficult but people actually complete it and a game that has less than 5% completion rate. Drop naming Dark Soul works against you in that point, since I am pretty sure a lot more people completed Dark Souls than did Darkest Dungeon. Darkest Dungeon was fun for me until I had to do the actual "Darkest Dungeon" and finish the game, by that point it just wasn't fun for me anymore, which is way I didn't finish it. If they make the ending of their next game less tedious and annoying, I might consider purchasing DD2. I'd rather not purchase a game if I am not going to complete it.
The main problem is that isnt a skill based game, they can inflate the difficulty only in a bullshit way, with more rng and more grind, imo rpg games should be beatable without any kind of grind and little to zero rng, meanwhile having anche option to make the gameplay easier thanks to grind etc
@@stylesheetra9411 I mean, you can say DD is a strategy game in the vain of XCOM and the like, which are - I would argue - skill based in terms of analysis and decision making...
@@dantevandeva7493 Darkest Dungeon is a different kind of difficult. In Dark Souls you get better by trying over and over again while in Darkest Dungeon each battle is different. If you don't play on Stygian (Bloodmoon in Crimson Court) you have as much time as you need to complete the game. I did a run on Stygian without using any provisions and beat the Darkest Dungeon in week 91/100 you just need to invest time into learning the best comps, trinkets and how to maximize your outcome which is what a lot of people arent willing to do, hence >5% completion. You can also just use the workshop and make the game easier with mods.
I first pirated fallout 2..... Then I bought Fallout 1 and 2 lol. The Sims.... Then I bought it Spore..... Then I bought it. So on and so forth. So idk, if its good Ill probably end up buying even if I already pirated it at some point.
I put a few hours into darkest dungeon, what put me off finishing it wasn't the difficulty so much as the lack of agency, when Mercs start to refuse quests because they're too good for them it's just annoying and made the expense of speccing to be competent unappealing.
I will always be a rhykker supporter. Congratulations on the new mic and sponsorship. Listening to your content helps me shift out of work mode and unwind. Keep it up, i support when I can.
I got irrationally upset when you suggested making DD easier (I beat the game btw). Now that I've simmered down, no the difficulty is the point. And why this game? No one thinks this of dark souls for example
Yeah, it's ok man. I'm very mad at Rhykker for even suggesting this. I've seen so many people complain about DD's difficulty that now I fear his question might actually bring about some change.
DD has an 'easier' mode first of all in the game. Dark Souls also allows you to level grind and there are certain bills that require much less skill to beat the game with (classic heavy armor poise + great weapon build). Dark Souls is not as difficult as people seem to say it is, you can out level it, or you can out skill it, the game doesn't really restrict your path. Dark Souls also has the summons mechanic that can carry you through many encounters, in case you can't git gud enough.
Dark souls isnt hard and it's based around grind or rng, so they are totally different things, also It have option to make the game easier (like leveling up your health)
There is a difference between a real meaty challenge and an absolute slog to get through. Also I know if I was a dev and I spend so much time making an endgame and only 2.5% of the players actually expierences it. I'd be a little pissy about it too.
I never use steam if I have the option to go directly to the source official website for the download. Too many times the games I tried to play off steam just created problems when I could eliminate them and go directly to the company. I often do not even play games that only use steam as their market launch
Is Diablo 4 going to be on PC? (I can't believe I have to ask that question but this is the world we live in now.) And of course... there is no answer yet. It seems obvious right? It has to be on PC! But I'm not so certain anymore in a post Blizzcon 2018 world... The official word is still unconfirmed and that scares me.
Yea definitely a very grindy game I put in about 50 hours and yea got bored coz it was so grindy and such a pain when you lose one of your heroes that make up a certain composition. Loved the game though.
I myself did not get bored but... At some pointI think I messed up my char cuz I could not keep pushing forward. The game became too hard but not in the fun way.
@@FoxyRaven-TV Kinda. I could have made another character but the momentum was lost. If I were to play it again without making the same mistakes I guess I would get some fun with it, but it just does not appeal to me anymore since I play better ARPG now.
On the topic of Diablo communities ebbing, I think its a kind of free market thing. We are possibly seeing the market realigning itself after years of shoddy decisions and less than awe inspiring content from Activision Blizzard. People are finally starting to vote with their, if not wallets, then goodwill and faith. ActiBlizz will either address the situation and recover, or they will carry on with their eyes closed and crash and burn. The gaming industry across the board is in a bad place right now, but consumers are starting to say enough is enough. We can only hope that their voices are heard.
About DD2, much of DD is at its core about loss of control and more importantly, reducing that loss. I would say keep the high difficulty but have systems to have more permanent progress or something to make building back up after a big loss more engaging. I'd also love just more to do.
You sound louder and well normal is the best way to explain it with the old mic. The new mic sounds maybe like your voice has a under tone or maybe you sound like your next to a wall causing the sound to not operate as it should.
My main concern with Darkest dungeon was the Endgame. At some point you have these really awesome items but if a character dies and and you can't pick them up or if your entire party dies there is no way to get those epic items back again (as far as I know when I played it. Maybe this has been adressed since?) This means that if you loose them your change of actual beating the final dungeons gets slimmer and slimmer. I actually made it to the Darkest Dungeons but just never attempted them in fear of losing all my stuff.
They should just rename the website to PoEfans instead of shutting down. But In all seriousness I will truly miss DiabloFans. Aside from Diablo 2 Median I don't play Diablo all that much but I still enjoyed browsing the website everyday for both news and Interesting clip-its. May you Rest In Peace.
Only game that I have 'pirated' within the last decade or so was Witcher 3and that was only to test whether or not my PC could run it. Afterwards, purchased it on both PC and PS4.
Hi Rhykker, here is a thought, what about a horda mode for D3, with no time, no respawnn and no loot, just one and the mobs, whatever it's balanceand see how far one gets. Just a thought.
anthem .... 8.5/10. it's a shame when critics review a game from "BioWare" and destroy it because it's not a story telling game. its ok to try different branches of games. I find that with all the free dlc announced for the next 90 days, all the patches already coming (10gb update on day 2) I think that we really should give them time before giving a 2/10..... it's a shame because it like abandoning ship before it even set sail hahahah. it's not perfect... but coodos to BioWare for really dishing out the content for players
Gamer Guil this is a joke right? The dialogue is cringe, the loading screens are immersion breaking, the missions are repetitive, the guns are boring, shooting feels sluggish, and the UI needs serious improvement. And yes, the story SUCKS for a BioWare game.
Gamer Guil game is pretty and flying is nice. Enemies are very generic and loading screens are at best immersion breaking. I’ve up and quit multiple times for how long and how often the loading screen are.
I don't think people appreciate enough the fact that you link your sources in the description, and timestamps, compared to other gaming news channels, who don't even bother doing that. They just give us a link to their social media and a short description.
Dont think difficulty is the point in Darkest Dungeon but punishment. It can translate in the same thing but difficulty can be kept while punishment is reduced.
In relation to Darkest Dungeon, it did get Grindy at times especially if you lost someone of high level later on. But it never stopped all of your momentum if you lost someone. You can always try to run and abandon a quest instead of losing a whole party. And if you find normal too difficult, they added Radiant difficulty which makes the game much easier to play. If they do the same for DD2 I think it would be alright. Having a low win percentage isn’t bad. You just have to be dedicated to get there.
I believe that the issue with Darkest Dungeon's completion rate is not the difficulty but rather the time investment and how punishing losing a high level character can be.
that game is such a wannabe though that will never live up to the legend Diablo once was. I put in 100 hours leveling 2 toons and it just seems like a generic copy of Diablo. Kind of like eating generic cereal over name brand I guess. idk POE is getting a ton of over hype because of blizzards fail.

@@elizabethbuttler6514 I personally can only think of Poe as a compilation of features people would love to see in an arpg over the years. It's like putting pizza, hamburgers and ice cream in a blender and expecting to get ambrosia.
@@elizabethbuttler6514 The only thing PoE and Diablo is similar with, is that you use abilities to kill enemies. With your logic, every ARPG or hack and slash is a Diablo copy. Blizzard made these gametypes great, but they have not invented everything. They gave a good basis tho. And btw PoE got a ton of attention waaaaaay before the Immortal Crisis. The overhype you talk about is from abandoned (REAL!) Diablo fans, who choosed an other path to resurrect the joy of killing monsters.
About your question regarding Darkest dungeon: I have a love/hate relationship with this game, the mechanics and the game in general are pretty good, but in my point of view is really hard to get a high lvl team and fully equip it, but very very easy to everything going bonkers in a single fight and lose some members or even the full team when we aren't making the wrong decisions, just but mere bad luck.
I'm asking here because I don't know where else to go. I have lost my Blizzard authenticator and no longer have the same phone number it was tied to. I've tried to remove the authenticator but in order to do so I have to reply with the code they sent to my phone. I've tried updating my phone number on account but need authenticator to do so. I've tried contacting Blizzard by phone but they no longer have customer service through phone. I've tried filing a ticket but again I need either my phone number or authenticator tied to the account. I have all the Diablo games and WoW on that account but they are now useless and haven't been able to get on any of them for over a year. If anyone can help with this matter (preferably someone who can contact Blizzard directly) it would be greatly appreciated.
I hope we'll get to hear more of Stuart Chatwood's genius for Darkest Dungeon 2's music. The soundtrack of Darkest Dungeon did a phenomenal job of capturing the game's grim atmosphere, and I'm pretty sure I spent more time listening to it than I did actually playing the game lol. I'm hyped for Darkest Dungeon 2, can't wait to see what this game will have to offer and what new horrors await us.

Hope that you know how appreciated you, and those members of the Blizzard + Diablo community who produce such great stuff, all are. Keep it up and thank you

I have an Origin account that I only have the C&C games on it. I keep having to reset my password because I don't open it enough to warrant remembering my password.
Sounds like monotony is the problem with DD1, not difficulty. So I imagine it'd be a sound argument to suggest the game should remain equally as difficult, if not more for compensation, while toning down the grind.
On Darkest Dungeon ... It's all about how the difficulty is packaged. I wouldn't mind it only having 1% or less completion rate. In fact, I'd appreciated a game that actually pushes you to your limit and beyond for once.
Thanks Diablofans for your commitment. I remember the day you announced Diablo 3 were actually under development.
Really sad news indeed... I was so very involved with the site in the years leading up to the release of D3... I don't even know who owns the website anymore, but I guess it's not making them money. Btw I remember you from the forums! Doomscream here!

Diablo Immortal. Diablo Immortal Expansion. Diablo Immortal 2. Diablo Immortal 2 Expansion.
activision isn't quite separable from blizzard anymore though. If you speak of Activision you speak of Blizzard and the other way around, the company is Activision-Blizzard as they're 1 entity now.
That's why I stumbled in the end-game, and never completed it.

hey Rhykkerrrr, this is folks
Blizzard is in a place where they can never recover to the damage done to the community! They might make money but they will not recover the love they lost from fans! So Sad!!!
They could, but I think the bigger problem which isn't publicized as much is the loss of talents in the mid and low tier and people who work in that industry already know that Blizzard isn't a good place to work anymore, so they aren't poaching the very best like before. Now they are getting the second/third best or worse. Also, the higher ups are being changed to pro Activision ones and their in house talents have even less incentives to stay there like before.
This sums up my feelings on the matter perfectly. It's nothing but a soulless shell of what it once was.

And yeah, thinking of pirating a game just makes me feel tired cause I remember all the hoops I had to jump through to do it. ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ Long comment about piracy warning ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ 🤣
Piracy has a thing over retail stores.
```So if steam goes away, piracy might get bigger.
```If PC gaming splits into 500 stores.. (and has exclusive store deals.. wtf? wheres the choice) piracy might get bigger.
```If all pc games games that you can buy are online only, meanwhile pirated games can be played offline.. with less issues and hassles... piracy might get bigger.
Once i learn about sales, once i start growing my PC steam and origin library.. it can be almost like catching Pokemon, you just gotta catch them all. If that goes away, might aswell go back to piracy, cuz i hate being split between my games.
I also used to do that when i was around 13-19, but that's cuz i had to pay for the world of warcraft sub fee, which costed 50$ in my country for the 2 months of game time. 60$is the price of a full game and i was spending 50 monthly for WoW.
This is the main reason why i pirated, meanwhile my friends did that because they couldn't pay for the net, power and build a computer under 20 years old. 1 thing is for sure, the developers of the pirated games didn't lose a dime, cuz my friends were poor as hell. They were never going to buy anything. Same goes for me, but my case was different, i used to play for 10 hours a day, just world of warcraft. Who has time for other games? Even if they are free.
So sometimes its true, piracy does not always means a lost sale, probably means it in alot of cases but not all. None of my cases and my friends cases.
the new mic has some setting i cant hear any bass sound whatsoever ç_ç
Diablo is dead in the water. Way to go blizzard. Don't even bother with Diablo 4 the damage is already done.
ShortyOrc 1
Diablo was great when it came out, but this diablo didn’t do enough to improve on the original. It took YEARS to get about half the classes and about one one hundredth of the content the game needed to survive.
Way too little, waaaaaaay too late.
The damage is not done.. yes the current state is aweful... but if they make a good d4 it will sell tens of millions of copies.
I though about that too. But I came to a different conclusion. Diablo as a franchise and Blizzard as a developer are at an all time low now. Everybody's vision is kind of clouded by subjective dissaproval, hate and anger. (rightfully so) But, all being said, mark my word, if they manage to come up with something great looking innovative rebirth of the whole genre as the next epic diablo project, and they truly deliver something unique, ppl will flood back and forgive them for the dark times they brought about. They still can hit the reset button on their fame if they decide to give it a try.
Tbh all they need is to create the best ARPG of the next decade, and their bill will be balanced in my book. Can they do it ? Will they try it ? I don't know, and at this point I hardly think so...
Shortyorc 1 love how you say it's all blizzards "official" doing let me ask, do you know that for sure? That Activision hasn't had their fingers in business decisions of theirs. Fact is nobody knows what is going on behind closed doors and the workers were laid off and so many from old blizzard are now gone. Personally if there is to be a solid launch of D4 Activision has to find a way to get the fans relationship with them back on solid ground, and maybe explain what happened a bit with the layoffs and such let alone reassure fans of what their product will be. If it is anything like the presentation of Diablo immortal people will in my opinion start moving more away from Activision than before and even if the results appear positive they'll need to prove themselves to the fans in general.
Everything about the activision-blizzard side of things is cash grabby now.
They will listen to the fans, but it’ll most likely be a mediocre game with expensive cosmetic micro transactions that probably won’t even look that good.
I really need to know how the new overwatch hero will identify and what kind of body parts turn them on.
Darkest Dungeon is supposed to be a difficult game. Even the intro says it. You have to make the best out of what you get, heroes will die. If they make it easier.. it will lose itself.
It would be like Dark Souls.. but you oneshot every boss
I mean... They did add a easy mode
I think there is a difference between a game being difficult but people actually complete it and a game that has less than 5% completion rate. Drop naming Dark Soul works against you in that point, since I am pretty sure a lot more people completed Dark Souls than did Darkest Dungeon.
Darkest Dungeon was fun for me until I had to do the actual "Darkest Dungeon" and finish the game, by that point it just wasn't fun for me anymore, which is way I didn't finish it.
If they make the ending of their next game less tedious and annoying, I might consider purchasing DD2. I'd rather not purchase a game if I am not going to complete it.
The main problem is that isnt a skill based game, they can inflate the difficulty only in a bullshit way, with more rng and more grind, imo rpg games should be beatable without any kind of grind and little to zero rng, meanwhile having anche option to make the gameplay easier thanks to grind etc
@@stylesheetra9411 I mean, you can say DD is a strategy game in the vain of XCOM and the like, which are - I would argue - skill based in terms of analysis and decision making...
@@dantevandeva7493 Darkest Dungeon is a different kind of difficult. In Dark Souls you get better by trying over and over again while in Darkest Dungeon each battle is different. If you don't play on Stygian (Bloodmoon in Crimson Court) you have as much time as you need to complete the game. I did a run on Stygian without using any provisions and beat the Darkest Dungeon in week 91/100 you just need to invest time into learning the best comps, trinkets and how to maximize your outcome which is what a lot of people arent willing to do, hence >5% completion.
You can also just use the workshop and make the game easier with mods.
I put a few hours into darkest dungeon, what put me off finishing it wasn't the difficulty so much as the lack of agency, when Mercs start to refuse quests because they're too good for them it's just annoying and made the expense of speccing to be competent unappealing.
I read that wrong at first and thought Rhykker was closing up shop. My heart sank for a moment.
I got irrationally upset when you suggested making DD easier (I beat the game btw). Now that I've simmered down, no the difficulty is the point. And why this game? No one thinks this of dark souls for example
Yeah, it's ok man. I'm very mad at Rhykker for even suggesting this. I've seen so many people complain about DD's difficulty that now I fear his question might actually bring about some change.
DD has an 'easier' mode first of all in the game.
Dark Souls also allows you to level grind and there are certain bills that require much less skill to beat the game with (classic heavy armor poise + great weapon build). Dark Souls is not as difficult as people seem to say it is, you can out level it, or you can out skill it, the game doesn't really restrict your path. Dark Souls also has the summons mechanic that can carry you through many encounters, in case you can't git gud enough.
Dark souls isnt hard and it's based around grind or rng, so they are totally different things, also It have option to make the game easier (like leveling up your health)
There is a difference between a real meaty challenge and an absolute slog to get through. Also I know if I was a dev and I spend so much time making an endgame and only 2.5% of the players actually expierences it. I'd be a little pissy about it too.
I never use steam if I have the option to go directly to the source official website for the download. Too many times the games I tried to play off steam just created problems when I could eliminate them and go directly to the company. I often do not even play games that only use steam as their market launch
Yea definitely a very grindy game I put in about 50 hours and yea got bored coz it was so grindy and such a pain when you lose one of your heroes that make up a certain composition. Loved the game though.
I myself did not get bored but... At some pointI think I messed up my char cuz I could not keep pushing forward. The game became too hard but not in the fun way.
@@ACSMEX so you got borred as you didnt find it fun in the end rly 😉
@@FoxyRaven-TV Kinda. I could have made another character but the momentum was lost. If I were to play it again without making the same mistakes I guess I would get some fun with it, but it just does not appeal to me anymore since I play better ARPG now.
When he said medic my excitement deflated quite a bit... when he said a Talon version of Anna my excitement completely faded (and I love Anna).
On the topic of Diablo communities ebbing, I think its a kind of free market thing. We are possibly seeing the market realigning itself after years of shoddy decisions and less than awe inspiring content from Activision Blizzard. People are finally starting to vote with their, if not wallets, then goodwill and faith. ActiBlizz will either address the situation and recover, or they will carry on with their eyes closed and crash and burn. The gaming industry across the board is in a bad place right now, but consumers are starting to say enough is enough. We can only hope that their voices are heard.
their fate has long be decided, this is just a deathrattle
Well said. The voices won't be heard as long as the execs are getting their bonuses at the end of the year. Screw the stockholders, devs and fans.
About DD2, much of DD is at its core about loss of control and more importantly, reducing that loss. I would say keep the high difficulty but have systems to have more permanent progress or something to make building back up after a big loss more engaging. I'd also love just more to do.
You sound louder and well normal is the best way to explain it with the old mic. The new mic sounds maybe like your voice has a under tone or maybe you sound like your next to a wall causing the sound to not operate as it should.
I'm just happy the sound is no longer scufffed. Yass.
Sounds fine to me lol
Sounds good to me.
My main concern with Darkest dungeon was the Endgame. At some point you have these really awesome items but if a character dies and and you can't pick them up or if your entire party dies there is no way to get those epic items back again (as far as I know when I played it. Maybe this has been adressed since?) This means that if you loose them your change of actual beating the final dungeons gets slimmer and slimmer. I actually made it to the Darkest Dungeons but just never attempted them in fear of losing all my stuff.
Yeah!!! Diablo 4.... Its everything we could all hope for!!! ow wait one tiny problem that shouldnt be much of a problem..... its on your Watch!!!!!
You all have watches right?
@@talsauron9442 lol haven't used a watch for like 12 years :-P
Hey Rhykker, Did you ever give your thoughts on Grim Dawn.
They should just rename the website to PoEfans instead of shutting down.
But In all seriousness I will truly miss DiabloFans. Aside from Diablo 2 Median I don't play Diablo all that much but I still enjoyed browsing the website everyday for both news and Interesting clip-its.
May you Rest In Peace.
DD2 appears to hint that it will be based on The Mountains of Madness, probably one of HP lovecrafts greatest tale. That is really awesome!
Only game that I have 'pirated' within the last decade or so was Witcher 3and that was only to test whether or not my PC could run it. Afterwards, purchased it on both PC and PS4.
Hi Rhykker, here is a thought, what about a horda mode for D3, with no time, no respawnn and no loot, just one and the mobs, whatever it's balanceand see how far one gets. Just a thought.
Blizz still trying to make Diablo relevant....how cute
Bets money Rhykker does future voice acting for a game somewhere. That shit at 4:09 was epic.
Man you are right
anthem .... 8.5/10.
it's a shame when critics review a game from "BioWare" and destroy it because it's not a story telling game. its ok to try different branches of games.
I find that with all the free dlc announced for the next 90 days, all the patches already coming (10gb update on day 2)
I think that we really should give them time before giving a 2/10..... it's a shame because it like abandoning ship before it even set sail hahahah.
it's not perfect... but coodos to BioWare for really dishing out the content for players
Gamer Guil this is a joke right? The dialogue is cringe, the loading screens are immersion breaking, the missions are repetitive, the guns are boring, shooting feels sluggish, and the UI needs serious improvement. And yes, the story SUCKS for a BioWare game.
Gamer Guil game is pretty and flying is nice. Enemies are very generic and loading screens are at best immersion breaking. I’ve up and quit multiple times for how long and how often the loading screen are.
LOL. You're funny.
Anthem Ign 6.5,Gamespot 6.0
I don't think people appreciate enough the fact that you link your sources in the description, and timestamps, compared to other gaming news channels, who don't even bother doing that. They just give us a link to their social media and a short description.
They need steam, or there will be pirated games...
Dont think difficulty is the point in Darkest Dungeon but punishment. It can translate in the same thing but difficulty can be kept while punishment is reduced.
The hype for diablo 4 is long gone.
In relation to Darkest Dungeon, it did get Grindy at times especially if you lost someone of high level later on. But it never stopped all of your momentum if you lost someone. You can always try to run and abandon a quest instead of losing a whole party. And if you find normal too difficult, they added Radiant difficulty which makes the game much easier to play. If they do the same for DD2 I think it would be alright. Having a low win percentage isn’t bad. You just have to be dedicated to get there.
I’m glad I didn’t preorder anthem. Maybe I’ll get it if it goes down in price
No one cares
I didn’t ask for your approval, but you obviously cared enough to respond 🤓
Hampton Hancock and I wasn't asking urs but it was still there funny how that works huh
I believe that the issue with Darkest Dungeon's completion rate is not the difficulty but rather the time investment and how punishing losing a high level character can be.
come to POE boiiiiiiis
that game is such a wannabe though that will never live up to the legend Diablo once was. I put in 100 hours leveling 2 toons and it just seems like a generic copy of Diablo. Kind of like eating generic cereal over name brand I guess. idk POE is getting a ton of over hype because of blizzards fail.
@@elizabethbuttler6514 you need to stop living in the past POE is here now and it's a great game every year it's player base gets larger and larger for a reason
@@elizabethbuttler6514 I personally can only think of Poe as a compilation of features people would love to see in an arpg over the years. And yet manages to be abysmally boring and pointless with little effort. Too much of everything is not a panacea and this is exactly what this game offers. It's like putting pizza, hamburgers and ice cream in a blender and expecting to get ambrosia.
@@elizabethbuttler6514 The only thing PoE and Diablo is similar with, is that you use abilities to kill enemies. With your logic, every ARPG or hack and slash is a Diablo copy. Blizzard made these gametypes great, but they have not invented everything. They gave a good basis tho. And btw PoE got a ton of attention waaaaaay before the Immortal Crisis. The overhype you talk about is from abandoned (REAL!) Diablo fans, who choosed an other path to resurrect the joy of killing monsters.
About your question regarding Darkest dungeon: I have a love/hate relationship with this game, the mechanics and the game in general are pretty good, but in my point of view is really hard to get a high lvl team and fully equip it, but very very easy to everything going bonkers in a single fight and lose some members or even the full team when we aren't making the wrong decisions, just but mere bad luck.
Hi rhykker!!
Hi folk!
I'm asking here because I don't know where else to go. I have lost my Blizzard authenticator and no longer have the same phone number it was tied to. I've tried to remove the authenticator but in order to do so I have to reply with the code they sent to my phone. I've tried updating my phone number on account but need authenticator to do so. I've tried contacting Blizzard by phone but they no longer have customer service through phone. I've tried filing a ticket but again I need either my phone number or authenticator tied to the account. I have all the Diablo games and WoW on that account but they are now useless and haven't been able to get on any of them for over a year. If anyone can help with this matter (preferably someone who can contact Blizzard directly) it would be greatly appreciated.
will there be any diablofans available on mobile phone ?
I hope we'll get to hear more of Stuart Chatwood's genius for Darkest Dungeon 2's music. The soundtrack of Darkest Dungeon did a phenomenal job of capturing the game's grim atmosphere, and I'm pretty sure I spent more time listening to it than I did actually playing the game lol. I'm hyped for Darkest Dungeon 2, can't wait to see what this game will have to offer and what new horrors await us.
Im going to be hopping onto Chaosbane, we need more playable dwarf races in aarpgs.
Honestly I have been more interested in D3 than in years recently, playing the Seasons during breaks from other games - glad to see you and others making all this great information available to us.
Are you going to continue the Diablo lore series?
Yes I plan to :)
Rhykker Sweet, thanks for replying! I just found that series the other day after running through Diablo 1 for the first time in years and loved it. Diablo 2 is next, then 3. Great content!
Here in brasil games have 70% taxes and a new game cost 100,00+ on steam and 200- 250,00 on console and our minimum salary is R$ 998,00 . have i ever downloaded a game on a illegal way? just when i'm not working and the game i want does not goes on sale for a looong time
plz update the image of subscribed, 385k is old. Now we are 470k
Rhykker, your videos really are so great these days. I've been watching your content for years, and honestly it's incredible to have seen your progression to being such a thoughtful, considered commentator. It's beyond sad that Blizzard is being sucked down the drain pipe right now - fingers-crossed things can change in the years to come. At the very least, I look forward to you continuing your excellent work here. Hope that you know how appreciated you, and those members of the Blizzard + Diablo community who produce such great stuff, all are. Keep it up and thank you
Is that a Blue Yeti mic in the start? What is that new mic? I think i've seen it.. hmm.
Also i sure hope Rhykker aint the next one to drop Diablo, cuz it sure seems everyone else has. ;p RIP Diablo and Diablo fans (the site and the gamers too lol!)
This is what happens when you comment before you watch more than 1 sec of the video because your net is sucking (due snow storm :D)
I got the answer to my question in the video >_>
I have an Origin account that I only have the C&C games on it. I keep having to reset my password because I don't open it enough to warrant remembering my password.
Sounds like monotony is the problem with DD1, not difficulty.
So I imagine it'd be a sound argument to suggest the game should remain equally as difficult, if not more for compensation, while toning down the grind.
the new torchlight frontiers alpha (or even beta?) starts in 2-3 weeks and there will be no NDA this time!
You been smokin before recording Rhy??
On Darkest Dungeon ... It's all about how the difficulty is packaged. I wouldn't mind it only having 1% or less completion rate. In fact, I'd appreciated a game that actually pushes you to your limit and beyond for once.
darkest dungeon 2 seems to be based on the setting of "at the mountains of madness" by h.p lovecraft
Oh.. now that you mention it. I havnt pirated anything for about 10 years now, or just about the same amount of time I have had a Steam account
