The best thing here is the math about the physics aspect is beautifully simple. The hard part is the PID control and all the filtering shit to control the motors.
Because its probably more important how the plane flies and not how it looks. And maybe its easier to integrate x-plane into this total system. It looks like they are using XP9 or 10. They could switch to XP11 which looks a lot better.
This machine is meant to simulate the motion and feeling of a fighter jet moving around in the sky, and less of a full on simulator game. Given the cost of the F18 this pilot gets trusted with, 19 million (over like 10 years, this thing isn't new) for training equipment isn't too bad. That isn't to say that the military doesn't straight up loose more money then UBI and Universal healthcare would cost, they do that twice over. Not so much with this thing.

This is gonna be great for those unmanned fighter drones. Real g-load feedback etc., you won’t overstress the aircraft and still be able to fight. We can make fighters smaller and make way more of them. Make them more menacing. Or just make airframes that can handle 20gs and have zero force feedback for the pilot so they can do unreal maneuvers against our enemies. Imagine a fighter that doesn’t require life support systems and etc for pilot comfort, it’d be so much lighter and more maneuverable. Imagine a full honeycomb like internal structure. No OBOGS, no a/c or heater, none of those heavy systems. They definitely need to move to X-planes. MSFS is old news.
