Interesting project, so much more work to it than you would think, I made a cake stand for my daughters wedding from a picture she had drawn on a scrap of paper and that was like a tree with five branches each with a wooden plate on the end to hold cakes, I thought I’ll knock that up in a couple of days, yes well that thought went out the window fairly quickly as it took me a lot longer than that, it turned out great but was a lot of work 👌👌👌👍👍👍🇦🇺
What a coincidence! I am making an outdoor feral cat tower that's insulated and warm right now! I am using the frame from an old window air conditioner as the shell. It has two internal floors and round cat hole entrance and exits and a sheltered porch so they can lay outside safely without coyotes being able to snatch them. I love my feral cats. They sit around my campfire rocks when I am out there at night.
Attaching the branches looks tedious but the results are worth the effort! Well done. I always learn techniques from your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
You did an amazing job moulding the branches together as if one tree! I love that these aren’t sticks or pieces of dimensional lumber, they’re actual tree branches carved and moulded with solid dowel joinery! Very nice! Can’t wait to see how you finish this
Thanks! I like the way this looks too. When she first asked me to make one I had visions of carpet over plywood. So I was pleasantly surprised when she sent over this more organic looking design.
Nice windfall for the build but also that you spotted its potential. Does your friend have a leopard? That's a pretty sturdy base hahaha. Good to see you having fun with the thumbnail!
No, just a regular cat, not even in human form. Probably should have filmed trying to sit on this the first time, it was a very slow trepidatious process because I didn’t think it would hold my weight at first. But, now I feel positive her cat can dove bomb it all day and not get hurt.
Thank you for this video Caitlin. I love your skills at getting nice tight joints at the base of the added branches. Is there no concern of the greenish cherry splitting as it continues to dry?
Yeah, I think all the branches will continue to crack since none of them are fully dry. That’s one of the reasons I used long dowels. Gaps might form at my connections, but I’m not concerned about it falling apart with cracking because of the joinery. Kinda like a cat tree timber frame.
Hi HB, I have built some cat towers but they didn't look anything like this one lol !!! How much time did you have in this project, total? I'm curious, the couple of cat towers I built, I only had about two hours in it. Another enjoyable video, you're very handy with that chainsaw 😊😊😊 Have a great week Timothy
I do not have a great sense of time on this one, really hard to track with these long projects. I stared it in august and just finished it up this week. Since it’s for my cousin the timeframe was loose, and I worked on it in short increments in between customer projects.
Good morning 🌅 Honey B, Great looking 👀 project, pussycat pussycat 🐈🐈⬛, It’s a Catus Tree 😂, I see you are now branching 😂out to propagate your own trees, sorry, 😂 💔from France,

So true. I told my cousin not to tell anyone I made this because the cost to make another, and account for labor would be insane.
Very nice and bonus to see you break out your chainsaw!

That's awesome. I've seen people making these online and it's such a cool project.
🤣🤣🤣 That thumbnail pic is GOLD! Well done, Caitlin! 👍🏼
Thanks, trying to make better thumbnails on here.
More like Catlin!

It was a tedious process, but I agree it was worth it.

When finished it will look amazing, good idea to place bags of sand in the base. Looking forward to next part
Thanks!
That's gonna be a happy kitty!
I hope so!
Free handing those dowel holes is impressive. Great results
Thanks!
You know when you're a woodworker when you eye fallen wood and see projects in it 😊
I like the pic of you “kitty cat” up in the tree. Nice job, you must be a cat lover. Thanks
No cats for me, we are too similar.
Meeeeeoooww! Our cat, Tux, approves!❤❤❤
Hahahaha nice!
Well this was a dangerous video for me to see this fall. Woohoo!
Impressive. Our 3 cats Keiko, Michi and Yuki would love one like that. Looking forward to seeing how you do the platforms.
Thanks! Yeah she specifically wanted something that looked more natural
and unique, and I think it was a smart pick.
Very nice job looking very good!!!👍👌💯
cool idea and it looks great so far 👍🏽
but will the cats like it? .... the suspense is killling meee!!!
I hope so!
Fantastic skills and patience, I love watching your videos ❤, take care, stay safe
Thanks!
I always appreciate your creativity, excellent work!
Thanks!
I remember you doing a badger dance at the start of some of your videos years ago!
Yeah I got rid of the intro years ago.
OK That snap with the goggles did not bait anything but a sharknado....🤣🤣🤣
I was aiming for humorous and might have missed the mark. But, this comment is hilarious
There’s going to be a happy cat.
I hope so!
Expertly done!

@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks hahaha ha what a shame you didn't film it though the shot you did take is pretty impressive.
Very cool project
Thanks!
