The only thing I would be okay with is Legend of Zelda. The Lost Continent is what came out if the ashes of Beastly Kingdom, and is my favorite theme park area ever. (Until we get Super Nintendo World).
I would expand Potter just a bit. The area outside of the train/Hogsmeade is a bit awkward and not fully themed. I would build a new entrance with additional shops and space, which Hogsmeade desperately needs. Additional shop could be Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop, which was featured in a HP book (where he had his first date), and could sell drinks and baked goods. This would only take up a bit of space from the current LC marketplace. For the rest of LC, I would replace it with Zelda. I know Lord of the Rings has been strongly suggested by many, but I don't think LC would give LOTR enough space to fully explore the IP. In addition, I don't think LOTR should be right next to Potter. Whatever ends up replacing LC, I hope they keep a majority of the rockwork and restaurant, as those are the best parts of the land.
I believe Legend of Zelda and/or Lord of the Rings seem to be the most logical options. Although, I wouldn't mind a Dark Crystal/Labyrinth themed area (provided that Disney doesn't have the rights to those movies).
That hybrid boat / suspended hybrid system is something I’ve been dreaming about (metaphorically and maybe literally) for a while now, I really hope something like that gets made eventually because I think it’d be ridiculously cool.
Also, I’d like to point out that per a UO employee, the work walls around Poseidon’s Fury are only for refurbishment purposes. They have been holding auditions for actors for the attraction, which is a huge relief to me.
@@ThemeParkStop yeah I wrote that comment before I finished watching the video lol. Sorry! I get very passionate over Lost Continent, it holds a special place in my heart haha.
I think Lost Continent is the best land in the park, theming wise and I don't want it to be demolished, i think a new story and a new leading dark ride is all it neeeds, maybe some refurb too
I agree. My favorite memories as an teenager and adult going through that water circle and the show is hilarious. If they did the hybrid part for Poseidon's fury that would be amazing.
Lost Continent is what the designers behind the literally Lost Beastly Kingdom were able to create. It was timeless, fun, grand, mysterious. Didn't rely on movies or pop culture. Great music and sound effects, big, beautiful set pieces. The only thing that I would feel okay with taking it's place is the Legend of Zelda.
Agreed. I want Lost Continent to stay. But out of these replacement “options,” the only one that I would enjoy is Zelda. However, I’d much rather keep LC and have Zelda replace Toon Lagoon.
I was just at IOA last week and I found myself remembering the old park, from details from the old DD queue that are now in the new Hagrid queue, and even wondering what they would be doing with the attractions such as Poseidon's Fury. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you covering this as I have been researching it since our trip.
Great video! Very informative, and I love the Lost Continent theme you've worked in throughout. Ever since you've shared the details of the possible Zelda attraction, I've had my fingers crossed for that!
I linked your Mount Crumpit video in the description, and added a card in the video. Everyone should check it out for more info: ruclips.net/video/NhEp4VQrVEw/видео.html
I was pleasantly surprised to see that they're giving the place a fresh coat of paint and casting new actors! Probably means they plan to keep this attraction open for years to come.
I still kinda hope that, if they do retheme the land to Hyrule, they do both the boat ride and the interactive show (the show going where Poseidon’s Fury is and the boat ride going where Sinbad is and extending into backstage areas).
Lost Continent desperately needs anything at this point lol. Since Potter came in, it's honestly served only as a themed walk way to/from Harry Potter. But, I agree that Studios needs a new attraction/land before Island's. Especially since the last few new Studios attractions haven't been great (Fallon, Fast and Furious, Bourne). I mean, Bourne is cool, but I prefer rides to shows.
I think that the Lost Continent is in a tough spot because it really isn't that much space. That being said, Poseidon is outdated but I have a feeling it's going to reopen as well. You make a good point that Islands doesn't really need a new attraction right now. The Studios are definitely where improvements need to be made. There's just too much dead space and too many simulators to keep the park appealing.
The one idea on this list that really stood out to me was the rankin/bass land idea! For some reason I think that would’ve been really interesting to see! As well as a Grinch ride.
Don’t think this will happen but I would love to see a B&M Wing Coaster come to the Orlando Resort. Wether it’s Islands, Studios, or Epic doesn’t matter. I think that would be a great addition since there’s nothing like it in the area, and it can be themed really well if they try. And for Florida at least, it’s one of the last B&M models that we don’t have. We don’t have a Wing, Family Invert, Giga, and a Stand-Up (although the Surf Coaster going to SeaWorld will change that) So Universal please get a B&M Wing Coaster, Thank You!
My favorite continent- sad to see it diminished down to this but at least we have some area to admire still and remember old memories with until its gone.
I think they should build an Amity Island, bring back Jaws in an updated ride like they did King Kong. Maybe have part of the track go into to central lagoon with a Jaws attack scene visible to the people around the park.
If the Rankin/Bass land existed it could have a dark ride based on Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer. With a Pre-Show featuring a Sam The Snowman animatronic, Ride vehicles as a Sleigh, A Kongfrontaion parody with The Abominable Snowman and an Animatronic of The Head Elf yelling the iconic line... “WHY WEREN’T YOU AT ELF PRACTICE?!!??!”
Universal is foolish for not building a HP themed hotel or adding the Ministry of magic to WWHP. They could really hurt Disney but they're not interested in expanding in that area.
Lost continent was the best and most beautiful original island. Original Poseidon’s fury with “Keeper” before it was retooled and IMO ruined was a very impressive and must-do attraction. Dueling Dragons when they actually dueled was super thrilling and the crown jewel of the island. The Apothecary Bar in the old oak tree, featuring the most beautiful stained glass skylight, was a welcome respite. The grandeur of the island is but a fond memory and is now nothing more than a sad reminder of what it once was.
I always thought that Hersheypark should get a Willy wonka type boat ride but through a Hershey chocolate factory but have the same vibe as Willy wonka.
I would definitely extend Wizarding World. I really missed the Whomping Willow when I first came to the park, and it would be perfect right next to the Hogwarts castle
The Zelda idea is my favorite, and I think it would be a huge hit. My daughter loves Breath of the Wild, and she thought the ride concept was genius. It's unfortunate that this wouldn't happen until 2027 at the earliest. Makes me wish Universal solidified these parks and opened Epic U a couple years later. Zelda+Jurassic World Adventure+Suess refurbishment would have been my preference. (I'm fine with keeping all other IOA attractions as is for the next 10 years.) I also liked the Potter idea with some kind of unique free spinner and shrieking shack. I would love a Chamber of Secrets walk-through, but I don't see how that's possible with story continuity. I think that attraction would have to be situated next to the Hogwarts castle model. Lost Continent isn't the place for Chamber of Secrets. My kids enjoy the "magic" of how well Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley fit the immersive world.
I'll let devastated when they get rid of the lost continent, I literally love the theming of the area. But it would be a lie to say I haven't noticed how dead the area is now (a mix of people being more interested in Harry Potter and the park closing all the stuff that used to be there) I do however love the idea of LOZ taking it. It sounds really creative and could keep some set pieces for the village type vibe of the game so its like some of it will remain. I will say on a different note: the grinch mountain?! That sounds amazing! I'd love zeuss's landing to get some extra love and considering the popularity of the character visits maybe they might shelve that idea for future when they have the funds. A Christmas themed zone doesn't sound great but I want that mountain.
I love the two new coasters at Islands but I feel like many of the lands are showing their age. I think everything but hogsmeade and Jurassic Park need some sort of change
Totally agree- Hosmeade and Jurassic are the only nice areas. Marvel is very very cheap looking- like a halloween party knock off version. Toon lagoon and Seuss were always tacky.
It won’t happen, but I’ve always thought it would have been cool if they changed Poseidon’s Fury to the velociraptor kitchen scene mixed with escape the room vibe. Giving us something to actually run from lol
I think they could have repurposed Poseidon into a Chamber of Secrets themed show wide. They wouldn't have to change too much, and I think it would be really cool.
I don’t think anything should replace The Lost Continent. It’s one of the most beautiful sections of the park, and I think it should stay (maybe with some updates). The Lost Continent is truly a work of art, and a wonderful example of the Universal Creative team’s talent.
Poseidon’s Fury is still there, it was closed temporarily due to the pandemic. I think it could use some minor updates, and should be reopened. Even though it’s unlikely, I also think that Sindbad’s should be reopened.
The Sindbad show was terrible (as proof by Guest Satisfaction surveys) and Pseidon's is barely passable. LC has beautiful architecture and a great restaurant which I hope they don't get rid of, but the attractions need to be replaced asap.
@@Nojintt I disagree about Posiedon's Fury, and there was lots about the Sinbad show I personally loved, but you do have very valid points. It's just very sad as a fan. I know the days are numbered. I just hope I can visit one last time
The half of the land around Sinbad's Theatre should turned into an interactive VR Luigi's Mansion dark ride and mini-land. The mystic fountain can still remain as a haunted fountain on the mansion grounds, and the rest of that area re-themed to a cartoony Nintendo graveyard. The addition of a Halloween store in that area, just further make this idea work. While I love the Zelda concept, I think it makes more sense as a replacement for Springfield and maybe MIB at USO.
I would kind of like to see a Madagascar themed area where the lost continent is, Madagascar is an island and I think it can bring the Madagascar boat ride from universal studios Singapore over.
I like the lost continent and would rather they add more to the existing theme, maybe lean more into the Greek mythology or just add more mythologies. Including adding some mythology themed store. However, if it were to be replace, I would rather it be with the Christmas land and Grinch coaster. Although I would rather have the Grinch coaster themed to the live action movie instead of the cartoon versions as I always felt that would be an awesome ride. Also, if there was rudolph and and rudolph based rides, my mother would flip and not want to leave the parks even more.
I'd rather see Lost Continent get updated with a new original attraction to replace Sinbad since I feel like there is such a wonderful charm to Lost Continent that just feels so quintessentially "Islands of Adventure" But that Christmas Land or the Zelda Land would make me happy enough to be worth losing Lost Continent
I love the theming of Lost Continent, it’s truly well done. But the land has lost its glory and I think it’s time to let it go. Financially, it makes perfect sense to have a Harry Potter expansion, with the tree and Shrieking Shack. I will miss Mythos and the theming, but there’s no point in keeping valuable land so empty
It seems kind of strange to put up big construction walls just for a reburbishment. If that is what is truly happening, then maybe they are completely changing or rebuilding some parts of the outside.
Or have posideons fury getting replaced by the chamber of secrets walkthrough show with harry replacing the tour guide from PF. Since most of the set pieces center around caves and chambers it would be a much cheaper refurbishment while still keeping the feel of the original attraction
I was wondering the other day if there will soon be a video on this topic on your channel. And there it is, I'm glad, thank you! ☺️ I think the Zelda theming is best suited for the part of the park, at least from the possibilities discussed in the video. But somehow I don't believe in it. A Harry Potter walkthrough attraction would also be interesting.
i fan and i love the lord of the rings trilogy and i love the videos games like shadows of mordor and shadows of war and the lord of the rings war in the north
Honestly I wouldn't replace Lost Continent with anything, but I would remove the whole Poseidon's Fury and Sinbad The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad Stunt Show area with a rater ride based entirely around Poseidon and something you've probably done to cause his fury to unleash. I choose this because when I saw the giant hand coming out of the water, I thought that's what Poseidon's Fury would be. When I found out it was just a show, I immediately lost interest.
It would be a missed oportunity if any zelda theme land doesnt have a morshu meet and greet. People would love to buy lamp oils ropes and bombs....as long as they have enough rupies.
It’s funny to hear “as many fear it’s days are numbered” as I thought I was in the majority in wanting it gone for a long, long time. The Zelda fit is just too perfect, but I would take anything at this point. If I were in charge it would have been demolished a decade ago.
here's what I need to see at the opening of the Classic Monsters land: 1) Ricou Browning is the Guest of Honor for the Grand Opening; he played the Gill-Man in all three Creature from the Black Lagoon movies (the swimming sequences, anyway); he's also the last living actor to have played one of the Classic Monsters 2) a larger than life statue dedicated to Lon Chaney, Jr.; not as any character, but the man himself. He was in 10 UCM movies, more than any other actor -- five as Larry Talbot, the Wolf Man; once as Frankenstein's Monster; three times as Kharis, the Mummy; and once as Count Dracula (technically his son, but the title was passed down). He's the only actor to have played all of the "Big Four" monsters 3) a smaller statue dedicated to Dwight Frye, to serve as a tribute to the various character actors who played supporting roles across multiple movies; he's most famous as Renfield in "Dracula" and Fritz in "Frankenstein", but he also had an uncredited role as a reporter in "The Invisible Man", and bit parts in four of the Frankenstein sequels (two of which were just uncredited villagers)
Ah jeez please no moar harry potter 😭 Haha I get that it's popular but it's just not my thing. I think starting to phase in more Nintendo stuff would be awesome, but I think Dragon stuff would also be a pretty sensible idea, and then they could free up that space in Epic Universe to do something even better/more relevant.
Zelda seems inevitable at this point, but what game do you think it will look like. The Zelda art style isn’t really set in stone like Mario Pokémon and donkey Kong. The Zelda games always look very different.
@@OfficialMisterRogersJr “Universal Studios Japan and The Pokémon Company Announce a long term Creative Alliance To Develop New Interactive Entertainment starting in 2022.” Looks like it’s happening, wouldn’t be surprised by a similar deal in Orlando.
I'm not interested at all in the train your dragon land. Universal should look for bigger and better things. Maybe a bigger Shrek presence or Back to the Future again..
I am ok not replacing The Lost Continent, but I don't think Poseidon needs refurbishing. Instead, it should be replaced with something new and exciting. That Poseidon attraction is old and boring.
Quick note... It's funny to think that Epic Universe is mostly a collection of previously rumored concepts: How to Train your Dragons - Previously rumored to replace LC Potter/MOM - Previously (and currently) rumored to come to USF Classic Monsters - Previously rumored to be the first expansion to LC (eventually turned into the Forbidden Journey) SNW - Previously rumored to replace KidZone I guess good ideas don't die. It makes sense though, if you were to create a new theme park, you wouldn't just create it from scratch, you'd likely use a combination of all the ideas you've previously and are currently working on to put something together.
If Universal could get the theme park rights to the Percy Jackson series, this could be an amazing idea to give the land some new life. They wouldn’t even really need to do a ton of retheming, they could just turn the marketplace area into Camp Halfblood. Then they could keep Poseidon’s Fury and Mythos, use the Sinbad stage for a new show, and maybe add a dark ride in somewhere. And it would pull a huge new fan base into the park.
I’d like to a ride based on Puss in Boots replace Poseidons Fury. It would fit theming perfectly especially since Puss in Boots meet and greets have happened frequently in The Lost Continent area. Plus, the timing would be perfect since a sequel to Puss in Boots is coming out next year.
There’s a lot of space if they just tear down Sinbad and that village area. Please keep Mythos and Poseidon (revamp it with a boat ride instead of a walk through)
Personally I don’t get why they’re hesitant to do a Zelda re theming for lost continent. It’s current decor and layout would be perfect for botws gerudo town. Turn the gift shop into Kara Kara bazaar and sell some of the outfits from they game and they’d make BANK, seems like a no brained to me.
It's such a shame lackluster harry potter came and took a nice chunk of the lost continent. People accept I.P. overhauls with open arms and I just can't understand it. Lost continent was and still is a better idea than all of these.
The Lost Content should be replaced with The Legend of Zelda i think thats one of the best idea's out there as for Kidzone at Universal Studios Florida replace that Kirby's Dreamland
Agreed, no more Harry Potter in IOA. That being said, I wouldn’t mind seeing an HP attraction (preferably the Ministry of Magic) replace the old Fear Factor stadium in Universal Studios. It’s the perfect placement, and it’s just wasted space at this point.
@@RhythmGrizz yeah I know, I just think a Ministry of Magic attraction would be a nice addition since it’s also located in London. And Diagon Alley only has one ride (not including the Hogwarts Express), whereas Hogsmeade has three rides. Plus the Fear Factor stadium is just empty, wasted space at this point. But it could be a great thrill ride: a drop tower based on the elevators in the Ministry of Magic, that not only goes up & down, but side to side as well.

I like that idea. There needs to be more DreamWorks at the resort since shrek closed.
Bring the attack on titan ride to universal orlando
I'd rather see Lost Continent get updated with a new original attraction to replace Sinbad since I feel like there is such a wonderful charm to Lost Continent that just feels so quintessentially "Islands of Adventure"
But that Christmas Land or the Zelda Land would make me happy enough to be worth losing Lost Continent
A zelda land would be a great idea in the lost continent
I feel like we should either get an:
A.Chamber of Secrets show for the Sinbad theater.
Or a
B.Shrieking Shack Walkthrough
Or have posideons fury getting replaced by the chamber of secrets walkthrough show with harry replacing the tour guide from PF. Since most of the set pieces center around caves and chambers it would be a much cheaper refurbishment while still keeping the feel of the original attraction
I think the grinch or Zelda ride is the best
I was wondering the other day if there will soon be a video on this topic on your channel. And there it is, I'm glad, thank you! ☺️
I think the Zelda theming is best suited for the part of the park, at least from the possibilities discussed in the video.
People would love to buy lamp oils ropes and bombs....as long as they have enough rupies.
we don't talk about that game
@@RhythmGrizz morshu became the sensation this year with the RTX morshu
Great narrator
It’s funny to hear “as many fear it’s days are numbered” as I thought I was in the majority in wanting it gone for a long, long time. The Zelda fit is just too perfect, but I would take anything at this point. If I were in charge it would have been demolished a decade ago.
Many people love and appreciate The Lost Continent, and many were devastated when we lost part of it for the Wizarding World.
@@cmike.skywalker so true :'(
Zelda would be an acceptable replacement, but let me assure you--Lost Continent is historic, significant, and has devoted fans.
Many of us love the Lost Continent.
They should do a Game of Thrones Land.. winter is coming
remeber we can blame harry potter for removing one of the best coaster of all time
ooh what about the lord of the rings !!? is probably
It's closing in may of 2023.
I think Beetlejuice would be great.
I would love a MonsterVerse land
They’re building that in the Epic Universe park
here's what I need to see at the opening of the Classic Monsters land:
1) Ricou Browning is the Guest of Honor for the Grand Opening; he played the Gill-Man in all three Creature from the Black Lagoon movies (the swimming sequences, anyway); he's also the last living actor to have played one of the Classic Monsters
2) a larger than life statue dedicated to Lon Chaney, Jr.; not as any character, but the man himself. He was in 10 UCM movies, more than any other actor -- five as Larry Talbot, the Wolf Man; once as Frankenstein's Monster; three times as Kharis, the Mummy; and once as Count Dracula (technically his son, but the title was passed down). He's the only actor to have played all of the "Big Four" monsters
3) a smaller statue dedicated to Dwight Frye, to serve as a tribute to the various character actors who played supporting roles across multiple movies; he's most famous as Renfield in "Dracula" and Fritz in "Frankenstein", but he also had an uncredited role as a reporter in "The Invisible Man", and bit parts in four of the Frankenstein sequels (two of which were just uncredited villagers)
Honestly i rather have Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory then the lost continent.
They should get the rights to God of war and based the land on it
Is it weird that right when the legend of Zelda part of the video started I got a Nintendo commercial?
Ah jeez please no moar harry potter 😭 Haha I get that it's popular but it's just not my thing. I think starting to phase in more Nintendo stuff would be awesome, but I think Dragon stuff would also be a pretty sensible idea, and then they could free up that space in Epic Universe to do something even better/more relevant.
Dr. seuss land and toon land should go WAY before lost continent. Those 2 areas are so tacky
Toon town is just sad…
Hoping is a Zelda land it will be amazing
Zelda seems inevitable at this point, but what game do you think it will look like. The Zelda art style isn’t really set in stone like Mario Pokémon and donkey Kong. The Zelda games always look very different.
probably botw or ocarina maybe a mix of the two
@@OfficialMisterRogersJr “Universal Studios Japan and The Pokémon Company Announce a long term Creative Alliance To Develop New Interactive Entertainment starting in 2022.”
Looks like it’s happening, wouldn’t be surprised by a similar deal in Orlando.
You could say,the lost continent will be....lost..
:(
I'm not interested at all in the train your dragon land. Universal should look for bigger and better things. Maybe a bigger Shrek presence or Back to the Future again..
"Moar"?
I am ok not replacing The Lost Continent, but I don't think Poseidon needs refurbishing. Instead, it should be replaced with something new and exciting. That Poseidon attraction is old and boring.
Would have loved any of these lands to move forward, though Zelda is my top.
Quick note...
It's funny to think that Epic Universe is mostly a collection of previously rumored concepts:
How to Train your Dragons - Previously rumored to replace LC
Potter/MOM - Previously (and currently) rumored to come to USF
Classic Monsters - Previously rumored to be the first expansion to LC (eventually turned into the Forbidden Journey)
SNW - Previously rumored to replace KidZone
I guess good ideas don't die.
I think Disney has the rights.
Search up puss in boots the ride universal Singapore! There’s already a puss in boots ride!
@@shridhartargaryen I mean one in the US.
There’s a lot of space if they just tear down Sinbad and that village area. Please keep Mythos and Poseidon (revamp it with a boat ride instead of a walk through)
i would actually cry if zelda shows up in lost continent
Omg yes Willy Wonka
Personally I don’t get why they’re hesitant to do a Zelda re theming for lost continent. It’s current decor and layout would be perfect for botws gerudo town. Turn the gift shop into Kara Kara bazaar and sell some of the outfits from they game and they’d make BANK, seems like a no brained to me.
NO! Enough with the Legend of Zelda! What’s interesting is when you realize how small of a sliver Lost Continent is in the context of IOA.
I agree, No more Zelda/Ben Drowned and the minions skull kids allowed add universals islands adventure theme park! 😎👍🏻
Just replace the Lost Continent already. It's so dull now. I will replace this land with Zelda and give it a ride.
It's such a shame lackluster harry potter came and took a nice chunk of the lost continent. People accept I.P. overhauls with open arms and I just can't understand it. Lost continent was and still is a better idea than all of these.
Legend of Zelda for the win!!!!
Moar
The Lost Content should be replaced with The Legend of Zelda i think thats one of the best idea's out there as for Kidzone at Universal Studios Florida replace that Kirby's Dreamland
the legend of zelda will be in the lost continent ?
@@sootydanielcharlie i have a favorite question the bring back back to the future the ride is not a joke ? or a fake ?
Zelda theme, pls
I WANT HYRULE
no more harry potter 😣
i beg you, universal
Agreed, no more Harry Potter in IOA. That being said, I wouldn’t mind seeing an HP attraction (preferably the Ministry of Magic) replace the old Fear Factor stadium in Universal Studios. It’s the perfect placement, and it’s just wasted space at this point.
@@cmike.skywalker universal studios Orlando already has diagon alley 😩
@@RhythmGrizz yeah I know, I just think a Ministry of Magic attraction would be a nice addition since it’s also located in London. And Diagon Alley only has one ride (not including the Hogwarts Express), whereas Hogsmeade has three rides. Plus the Fear Factor stadium is just empty, wasted space at this point. But it could be a great thrill ride: a drop tower based on the elevators in the Ministry of Magic, that not only goes up & down, but side to side as well.
No more Potter!!! At all!
