You can see BYUN’s medivacs boosted in place at that last fight. He tried to hot pickup but clearly misclicked and lost it all. Tough loss. You know he didn’t play his best and that’s gotta feel bad.

When Serral won WCS 2018, I did not cheer for him, in fact I disliked his win because Zerg was OP during that patch even though Serral is very good. Now, Terran is favored this patch, and Zerg has been nerfed to the ground. Byun vs. Serral is not even close, Byun looks like he mistakenly walked in this tournament. No scout, Terran hubris.

It's common knowledge that Zerg was nerfed primarily based on the one sided Zerg v other wins in global tournaments - of which most of those lopsided wins were attributed to Serral. Almost all those nerfs made Zerg more difficult for most players where previously Zerg had been favored. In the latest patch, Zerg has been significantly nerfed to the point where as the OP said, Terran is favored by most experts and players (and heavily so).... with the exception, of Serral and possibly Raynor. A large part of that is attributed to the nerf of the baneling which plays an extremely large part in holding off strong marine plays. Since the changes to the Cyclone, non professional (ladder) games have seen increases in early Terran wins v Zerg, where more games are won where the T has a lower MMR than the Zerg. This is a newish patch so more time is needed with the cyclone, but so far it appears unbalanced in lower tiered games.

Yeah...in this case I think it's Serral just being too good. He makes Zerg look overpowered. Zerg is a strong race no doubt as history would say, but it's not as unbalanced as one might think. Just my Bronze thoughts mind you don't don't take them too seriously...
Finally? Where have you been these past 6 years...? Zergs have been nerfed time and time again ever since Serral's year of dominance of 2018. There have been countless patches nerfing Zergs since than. From nerfing Broodlord + Infestor into the ground(remember Infested Terrans? yeah they used to be a thing... as was instant Fungal Growth) to nerfing most other Zerg units culminating in the recent double Baneling nerf(both damage and hp from the speed upgrade). Serral clearly is much better than the other top players, as he's the only Zerg player that still maintains such a ridiculous win rate. Even other 3 top tier Zergs: Reynor, Dark and Solar, are greatly struggling due to all the nerfs. Yes, Solar won a GSL recently, however most of the other GSLs these past few years have been won by Terrans, and not just Maru but also Cure, Gumiho and others. In fact it's Terran that's the broken race, not Zerg. It's just that Serral is even more broken...

Serral's "brillian" game-winning move in game 1 was simply boxing two groups of roaches and right click moving them into Byun's bases. In game 2 he just a-moved banes onto the marines and right click moved zerglings into the mineral line. He probably had time to alt-tab and check Liquipedia. Byun wasn't perfect on every click and he lost. It's like that in every aspect of the matchup. Multitasking for terran is perfectly splitting and picking up last second in 3 places, while for zerg it's a-moving in three places and never looking there again. Disgusting.
Well, I'll just say I might agree Zerg could be a stronger race among the 3. Historically it has won a lot of tournaments and that is no secret. I believe their strength might lie in other places than what you say though, particularly creep spread.

After the viper, luker, baneling, queen, creep, ravager, infestor, broodlord nerfs the past 2 patches I think zerg might be in the most balanced state it has ever been. When it comes to zerg its not balance thats the issue…its just Serral.

They could remove Zerglings muta and roach from the game entirely and there would still be a noob complaining Z imba (and the same for other races).
