Dispatch them humanely (I hold the crab on its' back and use a cleaver down the centreline), then clean (remove top shell, remove guts & gills), separate the pieces how you like, then cook.

@@spicenpans blue swimmer crabs/blue crabs are a popular choice here in Australia, I personally find them sweeter than mud crabs. Definitely love all the recipes on your channel
They are not the same. The curry leaves are a bergamot taste, whereas curry powder is a mix of different Asian ground spices. On the other hand, curry crab is also delicious. I would maybe touch it up with some extra coconut milk.
Hi Sherwin. If you can’t get hold of curry leaves then you can omit them but if you can get them, use them in this recipe because they will make the chicken extra fragrant. Happy cooking!
curry leaves and curry powder r completely different things. The leave is a herb that is usually put into curry for flavor. that is why the name. Hope this help

Chop a few very spicy chilli (e.g. from Thailand or Vietnam) and mix it inside when u stir fry the onions. That should make it spicy. Black pepper would give it a very "spiced" flavor but you will have to add in spicy chilli to get it spicy.

Hi Ujvala. Wow I can feel your love for black pepper crabs 🤓🤓👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 yes with this recipe, you no longer need to use black pepper sauce. You can just follow the exact same steps as we did. If you like it more spicy and savoury, add more black pepper and oyster sauce. Oyster sauce wise, you can use any brand you can get in India. No problem. Happy cooking! 🤓🤓🤓
