The Xperia 1 is a brave flagship that does something different in a world of notches and punch-holes. The Sony pics looks washed (yeah yeah i know, u gotta adjust the settings and all, but it sucks for most people...) The G8 have better balance than all of em. It could've been slighty better (as the Pixels), but i feel like it's still closer to reality and give you the best content to start with, if u wanna add effects afterward...

Actually that is what sony is trying to prove among all these phones, they prefer a natural look, not only on cameras but even on audio.
CinemaPro is something that is new in Sony, I think it will be better if there will be a video comparison with Sony using CinemaPro, I think it is a game changer, it's just that there is no comparison between other brands like samsung and iphone and sony using cinemapro

And you can use manual mode, if you want saturated HDR photos.

Overeall LG G8 best pictures, record audio, best app, best manual controlls, not the best in night but is good.
The LG G8's Nightview mode is highly adjustable. You need to give the G8 some time and deep dive into its menus.
People criticize its somewhat muffled speakers. If the took a few minutes to go into Custom mode in the equalizer and ramped up the sliders, it transforms the outbound sound.
Sony Xperia 1s pictures are all natural looking and I love that!

Huawei is over-rated
P30 pro is the best overall, better video stabilization in rear and front facing camera, great dynamic range, better lowlight in the main sensor and nightmode in the telephoto and wide angle is a big plus. Sony need to step up their video stabilization but is better than their previous flagships, LG I think is the weakest one.
If you like punch up pictures(good looking unreal) go fore huawei
If you like crap photos go for Sony.. because the camera is average...don't like Sony phones..phone looks like a remote control
@@alcylon you can very easily turn off the AI saturation......and in some occasions (indoor, poor colour temperature etc) this AI "punch up" does make life easier for normal users.... For neutral shots you can also resort to MANUAL mode...Huawei gives you all freedom and options
good video thanks. I have huawei p30 pro. 2 questions if you get a chance. What camera did you use to make this video? Also I'm starting to think that a gopro 8 is overall a better option for video. I might keep my p30 for photos and take my gopro or osmo action for video, what do you think?

Dynamic range on Sony is really poor in auto. Backlit scene isn't as good when you turn ON HDR in manual

Hey man ! What would you suggest for someone who's planning to shoot 4k videos with a tripad (I don't use stabilization) in lowlight environment ? Main criteria is clarity. I want to be able to crop in post-prod up to 400% and still have details and minimal noise. Thinking about the P30 Pro, do you think there's a better android choice ? Can you do a video where you use tripod and crop, so we can actually compare the quality of the image without the stabilizer ? Cheers !

I was extremely surprised by the LG, especially compared to the Huawei (which was the king of 2019 as far as I knew).
IMPO, LG was better 80% of the time.

Personal opinion I like the Sony and LG about the same, with the Sony having just a slight edge. I was not as impressed with the Huawei as I thought I would be, realizing these are from personal taste.

Color is a very easy thing to edit in post, but dynamic range isn't. Which is why I think Huawei has the best dynamic range and with the zoom capability makes it the best IMO

Xperia 1 - People said that it has natural look. Not in my book. Does overblown highlights all over the place looks natural? The only natural is their color reproduction.
P30 - Hands down the most balance camera system around. Great dynamic range in daylight, video stability, best zoom camera. P30 can easily do the darker scene as Xperia 1 using manually, but Xperia 1 cant achieve what P30 Pro can do in low lights, even manually. P30 Pro easily the best low light camera till date.
What are you saying? I've you even ever had Xperia 1 or any Xperia? Don't make assumptions about the manual performance of Sony. I've had S10+, mate 20 pro, and Xperia 1, I know how huawei and Samsung capability in manual, doesn't come near Xperia, neverr

That's Sony's fanboys for you, when has they ever admitted to the shortcomings of Sony's phones.
Suddenly, they prefer overblown pictures and call them natural. Shaky videos are cool as long as they have extra bit of details. And underexposed pictures are great in their eyes.
The Sony looks the nicest in my opinion with its natural colors and scene reproduction. Detail is also one of its strengths, being better than the P30 Pro and the LG here, and it's obvious in low light videos where the Huawei and LG looks muddy in comparison.

Sony is THE BEST when it comes to camera , display , sound . Exceptional phone. different from othera and the results we get in sony camera are more natural and satisfying . sony will surely bounce back in smartphone market , but they need some improvements for sure.

Why do you compare lg g8s not to for example to p30, s10e or xperia 5 but to more expensive and flagship phones like p30 pro or xperia 1. Why you didn't compare them to main lg flagship - lg g8. Also even at the beginning lg g8s was the cheapest one from them.
Photo quality - Sony! Video quality - Sony. Noise reduction P30 pro. Lg - far behind. For the 'stars-are-blind' kind of people using cameras using Crapsung including the dude with its so proud comparison, Xperia doesn't need auto settings when hoping for pro results. Manual it's a must most of the time - at least when its firmware will be upgraded. So Sony did it best overall.

P30PRO in the photos has more details but less natural colors than the LG and the Sony, better in the evening Huawei then LG and finally Sony, but with G8s and X1 that maintain a better color fidelity. In the videos LG wins, more stabilized and more faithful to reality, P30PRO has a good stabilization but has annoying changes in brightness, Sony has a good color fidelity but worse stabilization
Sir LG g8 specs seems downgraded the wideangle is supposed to be 16mp instead of 13 mp did they also reduced the screen resolution to full hd+ from 2k . Did the new global variant have these issues. Plz reply I was desperately waiting for this mobile to launch in my country.
