do you have like a document or a file. i am starting gym and want to do all these workouts that poirier does not just this video all the other videos as well?
Phil Daru no, it’s not that. It’s important to have a strength and conditioning coach for cross training and injury prevention. I had my shares of injuries from ballet dancing: ankles, back, and shoulder injuries. S&C helped tremendously along with PT. Now I work as a nurse and I use the exercise techniques to prevent injuring myself.
I agree. But Distin will never win a wrestling match against Khabib. I think takedown defense should be his main focus, followed up by how to counter a failed takedown attempt with agressive offense. Either win the fight by KO/TKO, or by decision. Stay agressive. Be the alpha the entire fight.
Well from now on, it's Yoel's and Colby's job to attack DP like Khabib in practice. Hold him down like an anaconda, and let DP feel the struggle. This is important for the mental part of what's coming.
Dustin needs to go all 5 rounds in good condition, Khabib starts to shoot from far once exhaustion sets in which could then be a exploited by a flying knee, power punches are there for Dustin all day if he can make it 5 rounds without completely gassing out
I know all fighters/athletes work & train hard... but all I’m gonna say is Dustin turns it up a notch. And last time I seen him grind hard he shocked everyone. Let’s go DP !!
@@PhilDaruStrong Wishing you guys much success. Just to be clear, I am not complaining, just pleasantly surprised to have access to world-class materials:). I had always wondered what a UFC fighter strength and conditioning training might be like until I came across your channel.
He needs to focus on Khabib’s weaknesses not his strengths. He will never be able to outwrestle Khabib but he doesn’t need to necessarily to win. If he worries to much about the wrestling it will neutralise his striking like Conor’s.
You dont think he already is during wrestling/grappling/mma training on the mats? or do you think he is ONLY doing strength and conditioning to prepare for his fights?
General Jemz Hahahaha hmmm 🤔 interesting lol 😂 let’s meet here after the fight ok don’t disappear on me that they & we will see how much you will feel lol 😂
General Jemz Hahahaha hmmm 🤔 interesting lol 😂 but I’ll give you one advice & I hope you take it bruh always say In Shaa Allah (God Willing ) cause you never know what tomorrow brings aight
Celticsrawesome I have an online mentorship every 3 months and as far as in house internship that’s every 4 months so it opens back up in September glad you enjoyed the talk 💪🏼
I really hope that hypoxic training pays off. I was under the impression training that way doesn't affect cardiovascular adaptation, it's purely a biochemical response to produce more red cells that makes the difference. But obvs a lot of fighters seem to think otherwise. If anyone has specific sources on studies that go further into it I'd be super interested.
Anguel Roumenov Bogoev goal of Repeated Sprint Hypoxic training is to increase the recoverability between bouts. This has been studied extensively if you look into RSH training for repeated power sports you will see that the participants (soccer players) increased there ability recover through Phosphocreatine re-synthesis and increases mitochondrial density allowing for a better overall cardiovascular function
want wait the fight..... Maybe one of the best fight, i dont speak about their martial arts but already... they are so fuckin good guys thgats why i like a little UFC cause i like the real martial artists,i wish a good long fight
Y'all be surprised. This one will be a masterclass of boxing used in today's mma. With Colby Covington they have a similiar fighting style to mimic Khabibs constant pressure grappling style, plus Colby is phyically just as strong if not even stronger than Khabib. So Dustin knows and felt, what's coming. I don't think that they have someone with the educated hands of Dustin over @ AKA. His boxing is to me the best right now, when it comes to punch variety, angles, distance control and power. Dustin's jab will dictate the pace and, Khabib will be simply outboxed for the majority of the fight.
I truly believe Dustin got what it takes to pull the upset and He will beat Khabib on september 7th. I can't wait to see him winning and see the Khabib fan's be a little quietter
Hey coach Phil. When I used to do boxing we was drilled hard for an hour. Recovery was hard in between workouts. This training seems more sub maximal but with a few bursts of high intensity thrown in. Is this correct? I read somewhere that gsp never trained maximally much apart from few week before a fight. I ask as I'm a bit older now and couldn't recover from running around like a mad man 5 days a week but I would like to get back into some form of self defence. Thanks
rozzer I run a form of conjugate until about 4-3 weeks out then switch over to higher speed and explosive work to enhance sport readiness. This allows for the athlete to not overtrain. Each day is regulated in case of unexpected fatigue through the other demands of the skills practices.
I may be subjective bc of Coach Daru and DP but I don't see Khabib having weaknesses to exploit in Dustin so he might try to go to a decision with this fight.
Is the program 12 weeks camp fight training look like this to! With precise number of heartbeat and pro prgraming to be at maximum pro fighting shape !? From speed power strenght and cardio!!

Phil Daru 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 let’s go Dustin 💪💪💪💪
need to train a fight (wrestling)
Phil Daru are you his strength and conditioning coach??

Meanwhile Khabib running up and down a mountain with DC on his back
lol
There is no way DC is staying on his back with all that fried chicken grease on his hands.
Lmao Dagestan strikes back
best comment ever! xd
With DC WITHOUT his century 🤣😂🤣😂
I think all Dustin really needs to do is have around 5 high level dagestani wrestlers go at him back-to-back for 5 rounds
I agree. But Distin will never win a wrestling match against Khabib. I think takedown defense should be his main focus, followed up by how to counter a failed takedown attempt with agressive offense. Either win the fight by KO/TKO, or by decision. Stay agressive. Be the alpha the entire fight.
Cleary you dont follow his social media. He is training with some high level grapplers and a few Russians.
He already have and much more ferocious. His team mates are Yoel Romero and Colby Covington.
Well from now on, it's Yoel's and Colby's job to attack DP like Khabib in practice. Hold him down like an anaconda, and let DP feel the struggle. This is important for the mental part of what's coming.

You guys are beasts! Goodluck on your upcoming fight Dustin and thanks for great consistent content Phil Daru!! Quality as always
Dustin is big for 155 it's crazy he used to make 145
Khabib is big for 155 too
They are compaeable in size, height and width.
Pretty sure Dustin’s walk around weight is in the high 180s, same with Khabib
E K Khabib more like 190.
He walks around 170ish. And he himself has asked for the 165lbs division to open up
Phil putting all his knowledge for Dustin to beat Khabib.
Good luck!

Phil talking bout khabib excited me man it’s so dope to think about them working hard mentally and physically to take out the champ
Jakob M when?
Takedown defense should be the main focus in Porier's camp.
Michael Sanchez thanks for the advise
You dont say.
#andnewheadcoach
If he focus on ground defence he will forget his stand striking just like what happened with McGregor.

Дастин я за тебя болею 💪🤜🤛
Is this workout part on any of your books??amazing workout brother
Ed Zercher's soul smiled and blessed da diamond
He should focus on wrestling drills if he wants to beat khabib
defensive drills only: stuff the head, sprawl and wrist control drills all day.
He needs to focus on Khabib’s weaknesses not his strengths. He will never be able to outwrestle Khabib but he doesn’t need to necessarily to win. If he worries to much about the wrestling it will neutralise his striking like Conor’s.

Strength and conditioning is only a small part of Dustin's training
He probably is. But not showing it.

Fantastic guys ☝🏼🇮🇪
This should play out like Jones v Santos. Alotta people underestimating Dustin and over hyping Khabib. It really could go either way.
Let's go diamond dust
Who else just stole that whole work out and is going to use it
Coach, in an 8wk camp do you have any of your athletes do any endurance work, or is that done before the camp starts? Dan
The making of a champion
