Being a tricks trainer cannot be improvised, it is a serious and demanding job that requires skills of course and qualities such as respect, patience and calm. You have to maintain the obtained results and always encourage your partner. Ride on neckrope requires training and seriousness in order to guarantee the safety of the rider and his/her horse. The result is so fantastic! I say a big YES to the tricks training videos, the youngsters love them and the older ones too. In fact, I love all your videos! Bravo and thank you Jesse! 👏🥰💙

I subscribed to Horse World TV a couple of weeks ago, and it really is fantastic. I love the breadth of subject matter, and the production values are crazy good. It's worth every cent, and then some. :)
My gelding came trick trained using R+/clicker training methods and he loves it so much that now I'm trying my best to learn more about it so I can keep teaching him this stuff. I spent a few months trying to get him to adapt to what I normally do and he just doesn't enjoy it, so I'm learning to do what he loves!
beware clicker trainer is amazing but the clicker itself can get in the way as you get further into r+ adding a bridge cue like a work that you won’t typically say around him (i use ‘great!!’) so you don’t have to worry about keeping a hand free

Jesse, this speaks so much to establishing trust. If your animal trusts you, you are 3/4 of the way there! Start small and build. When they get blocked, go back to what they are fully ground in. Build their confidence and then build on their confidence! Understand, to that not every animal is suited or willing. Work to their strengths.
I fell in love with horses when I was two years old my great great grandfather bought me a pony and it was pregnant and she gave birth seven months later and ever since I have had horses. The one I have now I have a very strong connection with, and I would love to teach her how to do tricks.

Enjoyed this video. I do not have any horses but did when I was younger. I like the variety of videos you and Matt do. I was horse crazy as a kid and finally at 19 was able to have a horse of my own. Your training methods are so fair to your horses which I believe makes your bond with them what it is which is wonderful.

Excellent work Jesse. It was wonderful watching this horse change from being slightly overbent while wearing the bitless bridle to quite correct on a neck-rope. This is a splendid way to overcome years worth of bad habits that horses have had to develop in order to escape their rider's poor seat, poor rein handling, etc. It's not only good for the horse but it also allows the rider to learn to listen carefully to their horse and to develop a secure seat that does not depend on hanging onto the reins or balancing between the stirrups. We spent hour after hour in the cavalry school in France where I was trained riding without stirrups and with the reins down lose on the horse's neck. I once fell off eight times in a one-hour lesson not because of anything the horse did, but because I was still depending on my reins and stirrups to keep me on the horse. Gradually we learned to manage both a sitting and rising trot without stirrups or reins. Once we achieved this level of riding, real Dressage could begin.

I enjoyed this video thank you for explaining how the horse world tv platform operates. I'm hesitant, but curious to use the free trial. I don't have a horse at this time but want to get one in the future. What do you look for in choosing a horse appropriate for this kind of training ? How important is conformation ? What are your thoughts on a speculative rescue from a kill lot or sale lot ? 🏇
I only wish I'd had this kind of opportunity in my younger days. I had to figure out so much on my own, or from books. It's never too late - and I have a retired Standardbred that I've gotten going under saddle. But, he's the spookiest horse I've ever had in my 60 years. He's a good character otherwise, but I don't go trail riding with him - it's one battle after another. No fun. And I won't heal as quickly as I used to if he hurts me! So, I'm hoping that some trick/liberty training will be our 'thing'. Perhaps he'll get over some of his ridiculous spooking (race horses.....sigh...) if he trusts me more. But I think a nice Quarter Horse like I usually have is probably in my future. I'll keep my Standardbred, but I think he needs a different job than trail horse. Love this opportunity!!

Horses are "fresh" or energetic at the beginning of the ride; Jesse suggested warming up first before taking off the bridle
