Haha as a college student I would just like to let every younger person know that this is not the norm for college dorm rooms! At most schools they are MUCH smaller, and most people don’t decorate them to look this good. I wish this is what my freshman dorm had been like though!! It looks great :)
I thought I was cool because I'm in a 2 bedroom suite style dorm with a bathroom and a small common space I share with my roommate. Then I saw this and I was like oh snap that's a full apartment! They did a great job decorating!
I go to Baylor. This is the nicest dorm building on campus. They payed extra just to be in this building with apartment style dorms. That’s not including all the extra stuff they added. Most freshmen live in a classic one room, two bed dorm room. This does not represent what the normal Baylor freshman lives in.
I love Brooklyn and Bailey, but this was SO extra! I lived in a dorm for a few years and enjoyed living the minimalistic life. Enjoy college, girls, but appreciate the dorm living and don't be afraid to get rid of some of the clutter- you'd be surprised how much you can live without and how free you'll feel without it! :)

I go to a private school and this is what my apartment style dorm looks like too so it is pretty accurate, all schools are different how they do dorms tho
i really don’t understand why people are hating on this video. they’ve said MULTIPLE times that this isn’t even really a dorm; it’s an APARTMENT type dorm. they’re not trying to give any false hope to their younger viewers that this is what college is going to be like. if you expect most college dorms to be as fun and over-the-top like this one, then that’s on you. don’t ridicule them for having money and wanting to go all-out. they have money, they work hard for it, they’re allowed to splurge and decorate as they please. as for their roommates; i’m sure b&b wouldn’t have decorated like this if it wasn’t okay with their roommates. with that being said; get off their backs, let them live, and appreciate the fact that they have nice taste in furniture. thank you.
True but it would be nice if they made a video of the normal baylor dorm room but i knew for a fact this wasn't it because I went there for a little than U.T. Austin the dorms are super small & over priced especially at U.T. but I'm happy for them they deserve it. I just hope that everyone's school yr is great & please be nice to each other college is very hard I went back for some classes & it's actually easier because of soo many sites you can use for help but also so much harder its crazier than when I went. This is literally setting up every other freshman for disaster. Don’t go into debt decorating your space that you’re literally never going to be in except to sleep.
@@daydreams1246 Because most dorm rooms are not that big. My sister didn't get a suite until she was a senior in college. Even her suite was not that beg. They probably spent upwards of a grand or more to make this room possible that's not realistic for most college freshman. I'm sure that's what Amy meant by this is setting freshman up for disaster. They work hard so they are lucky to be able to do this.

I use to be an RA. I remember doing inspections and one of my residents told me about the sticker like wall paper and I mean I decorated my dorm room with it.
I hope this doesn’t come off as rude, but this isn’t really relatable. What I mean by that is, I wish they would’ve done this on their own, without having someone come in and basically transform their suite. It would’ve been cool to see what they would’ve done.

Elise I went to a small college and we didn’t have suites or apartment style dorms, so i had such a small space to work with. My dorm was filled with things I either brought from home, bought at a thrift store, or was graciously given from someone who had previously lived in a dorm. They’re extremely lucky to have a space like that, especially for their freshmen year!
Dara Udobong even if you can get the same room the next year (my school calls it “squatting”) you still have to move allllllllll your stuff out and take everything off the walls, tables etc. so they can clean it and use the room for people taking summer classes that stay on campus

i live in a dorm where it's a tiny room with 4 people and there is one shower room where all the dorm goes to, there are two kitchens on the floor that we share, this dorm looks waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than mine
I just want to say that you guys are great and I love your videos as well as your family's A lot of people may be saying that you guys are giving off unrealistic expectations of dorm rooms but in reality, a lot of dorm rooms or dorm apartments are like this. Sometimes colleges make you stay in that dorm for your four years because you pay for it, so it makes sense for you to make it feel like home. Also, you guys deserve everything you have because you worked hard for it. Good luck in college!

I'm looking at all of this and just thinking about how dusty everything's gonna get! Seriously, dorms are notorious for being kinda musty and dusty. I think it's a beautiful space but unless they're gonna have a cleaning crew come in weekly and clean for them, all those crevices are gonna grow cobwebs. I live in an 11x16 room with one cat (no human roommate), and spend 10-15 minutes daily making my bed, vacuuming up stray litter, and picking up quickly. On Sunday's I spend 45-60 minutes changing my sheets, washing my bedding/blankets, vacuuming with carpet cleaner, dusting all my surfaces, wiping down my futon, and cleaning my mirrors.I can't imagine how long it would take to clean that entire space!
Not really. In the down I lived in before transferring. I had the cheapest dorm but this girl on the 2nd floor went all out our didnt even seem like the same room. Meanwhile in my room it was basic. So ig ight just depends on money or being good with finding deals. And they have brand deals too

during college, I lived in an apartment for 5 years, and making it feel comfy and at home really helped me (that’s for my case since I have the whole place to myself :D) the year I’m moving out, my parents would come to visit and they would slowly bring home all the unnecessary stuff I’ve accumulated over the years so we didn’t have it hard when the moving out day finally came.

It's a school suite my University has similar style dorms they are just more expensive than community style dorms which are smaller and a whole floor shares bathrooms
Wow. So many negative comments. I understand that most people are not blessed to have this nice of a dorm room / apartment, but can't we just appreciate how nice it looks? And all those people saying it is too extra... Honestly, a nice room can do so much good for your mood. Of course, if you have a broom closet for a room you are not going to be there very often and it may not be worth decorating, but this place is big, so I don't see why they wouldn't be spending time in there. It looks great and I hope you two have a wonderful time at college. :)
everyone's hating so much as if they spent the money and time to set everything up. they are proud of what they created and we are privileged enough that they share it with us. Yeah, maybe this isn't realistic for the majority of college students, because of space, time, and money constraints, but this is what THEY did. it is good inspiration for college students, even if they're dorm is smaller. if you don't like it make your dorm room different. Kat Actually in the university that i go to, apartment style housing is about $2000 cheaper than traditional dorms or suites (and that's without taking into account meal plans)
Kat not really. The apartment style (4 ppl 1 apartment) is the cheapest but traditional and suites are different by about ~$1500-$2000. And then u have to take into account that having your own kitchen and buying your own food will be cheaper than a $6000 meal plan. So it ends up balancing out
You can have my sister if you want. I dont want her 😂 trust me having a sister isn't any easier especially an older one, I definitely get on with my brother better and i have to live with him all the time whilst i only see my sister every few months when she comes home from uni
Don’t get me wrong... I love B&B. But dang this is ridiculous for a freshman suite. Like I wouldn’t want my child to see this and think this is how college is. It’s not. It’s being resourceful with what you got and not paying a bunch of money to make everything prettier. It’s being crafty to make it look the way you want.
Krysta Emy i agree 100%. Many people in the comments are defending them by saying they've "worked hard for their money", while failing to realize you can do so while being smart with the way you use it. A bit of decorating is understandable, but this full transformation is pushing it way too far.
Realistically most people dont have the money to spend to buy these things all at once but it is achievable even if you're not rich. College cities make great markets for second hand furniture. I decorated my room from scratch with second hand furniture I bought off of Facebook. It took a really long time, but I did it.
Agree. 99% of colleges dorms, even for many upper classmen, are tiny and really just enough for sleeping. At my college this wouldn’t pass inspection :/
I think it depends on what school you go to. Schools like UMiss go full out when it comes to decorating. Then there's schools where it's like living in a jail cell. Plus it seems like they got an apartment style which most students do like to decorate to look like home. I wouldn't lie and say that I spent more than I would like to admit on my current apartment dorm 🙁
tbh this is so incredibly extra😅 dont get me wrong it looks great but you literally only live there for the school year and before you know it youll be taking allllll that stuff down and moving out... also, i dont think this is even considered a dorm room, its a suite/apartment lol
It’s their first year of college, they’re excited. It’s a little extra but if it makes them happy then so be it. Come next year or their junior year, their dorm will be as plain as possible lol

I love you guys and everything is super cute but speaking from a college junior point of view...this is so extra and unnecessary. You’re only living here for 7 ish months, once the year starts, you’re barely in your dorm, and moving all of this stuff out is going to be AWFUL for you guys because you’re gonna come back with even more stuff, and moving out is annoying to begin with. being able to come back to your dorm to a super decorated and pretty happy place is actually stress relieving. ur whole mood changes depending on the environment ur in. so if they’re content with it then i’m sure it’ll make college go smoother for them.

Dara Udobong even if you can get the same room the next year (my school calls it “squatting”) you still have to move allllllllll your stuff out and take everything off the walls, tables etc. so they can clean it and use the room for people taking summer classes that stay on campus

A lot of people may be saying that you guys are giving off unrealistic expectations of dorm rooms but in reality, a lot of dorm rooms or dorm apartments are like this. Sometimes colleges make you stay in that dorm for your four years because you pay for it, so it makes sense for you to make it feel like home. Also, you guys deserve everything you have because you worked hard for it. Good luck in college!

I'm looking at all of this and just thinking about how dusty everything's gonna get! Seriously, dorms are notorious for being kinda musty and dusty. I think it's a beautiful space but unless they're gonna have a cleaning crew come in weekly and clean for them, all those crevices are gonna grow cobwebs.
I live in an 11x16 room with one cat (no human roommate), and spend 10-15 minutes daily making my bed, vacuuming up stray litter, and picking up quickly. On Sunday's I spend 45-60 minutes changing my sheets, washing my bedding/blankets, vacuuming with carpet cleaner, dusting all my surfaces, wiping down my futon, and cleaning my mirrors.I can't imagine how long it would take to clean that entire space!

Not really. In the down I lived in before transferring. I had the cheapest dorm but this girl on the 2nd floor went all out our didnt even seem like the same room. Meanwhile in my room it was basic. So ig ight just depends on money or being good with finding deals. And they have brand deals too

during college, I lived in an apartment for 5 years, and making it feel comfy and at home really helped me (that’s for my case since I have the whole place to myself :D)
the year I’m moving out, my parents would come to visit and they would slowly bring home all the unnecessary stuff I’ve accumulated over the years so we didn’t have it hard when the moving out day finally came.

Wow. So many negative comments. I understand that most people are not blessed to have this nice of a dorm room / apartment, but can't we just appreciate how nice it looks? And all those people saying it is too extra... Honestly, a nice room can do so much good for your mood. Of course, if you have a broom closet for a room you are not going to be there very often and it may not be worth decorating, but this place is big, so I don't see why they wouldn't be spending time in there. It looks great and I hope you two have a wonderful time at college. :)

everyone's hating so much as if they spent the money and time to set everything up. they are proud of what they created and we are privileged enough that they share it with us. Yeah, maybe this isn't realistic for the majority of college students, because of space, time, and money constraints, but this is what THEY did. it is good inspiration for college students, even if they're dorm is smaller. if you don't like it make your dorm room different. Kat Actually in the university that i go to, apartment style housing is about $2000 cheaper than traditional dorms or suites (and that's without taking into account meal plans)
Kat not really. The apartment style (4 ppl 1 apartment) is the cheapest but traditional and suites are different by about ~$1500-$2000. And then u have to take into account that having your own kitchen and buying your own food will be cheaper than a $6000 meal plan. So it ends up balancing out

Don’t get me wrong... I love B&B. But dang this is ridiculous for a freshman suite. Like I wouldn’t want my child to see this and think this is how college is. It’s not. It’s being resourceful with what you got and not paying a bunch of money to make everything prettier. It’s being crafty to make it look the way you want.
Krysta Emy i agree 100%. Many people in the comments are defending them by saying they've "worked hard for their money", while failing to realize you can do so while being smart with the way you use it. A bit of decorating is understandable, but this full transformation is pushing it way too far.
Realistically most people dont have the money to spend to buy these things all at once but it is achievable even if you're not rich. College cities make great markets for second hand furniture. I decorated my room from scratch with second hand furniture I bought off of Facebook. It took a really long time, but I did it.

I think it depends on what school you go to. Schools like UMiss go full out when it comes to decorating. Then there's schools where it's like living in a jail cell. Plus it seems like they got an apartment style which most students do like to decorate to look like home. I wouldn't lie and say that I spent more than I would like to admit on my current apartment dorm 🙁

I love you guys and everything is super cute but speaking from a college junior point of view...this is so extra and unnecessary. You’re only living here for 7 ish months, once the year starts, you’re barely in your dorm, and moving all of this stuff out is going to be AWFUL for you guys because you’re gonna come back with even more stuff, and moving out is annoying to begin with. Wow flashback of the 70's! I had the same stuff like this back of the 70's, owl wool with a stick on the wall, Popsicle sticks with colorful or warm color wools, strings arts, etc... Most of my friends went to university like this but they smoke weed while studying. lol Memories!!!
