First generation Canadian , from a Jamaican family. My mom relaxed my hair young. In highschool I started watching RUclips videos about 2009. I stopped relaxing my hair and my length and texture pleasantly surprised me. I’ve been natural since. I convinced my mom to not relax my younger sister and her hair was thick and shoulder length. When I moved out she relaxed her hair and it broke off and her edges are damaged. My sister turned 16 and now she cut off the relaxer and trying to regrow her hair. Full circle lol. I will never be putting creamy crack in my future daughters hair ❤
Wow , what a story , but it’s so common in our community, it’s so hard for the older generations to get on board , I’m so glad you took they journey to be a testimony for your sister and daughter and future grandchildren 🦋
Actually your work should give black women a $1,000 stipend just so that you can keep up your hair. I would pay money to see them do our hair I watch videos of Asians do black women's hair and they totally destroyed it. They think it's easy as 1 2 3 it's not I've only heard of one white guy who knows how to do black hair and he has mastered how to grow black women's hair. He's out of Atlanta his name is Jason Griggers. You have to have a lot of respect and patience when it comes to black hair care. So when workplaces are telling black women and men that they have 2 change their hair styles according to their standards that's just not possible. This is the way the hair grows out of her head. I think that's why a lot of black women and men get anxiety when having to go out to work and deal with other people because they want us to conform to their hairstyles. A lot of black women have to wear wigs in braids just to maintain their hair length. I can only wear my hair naturally out for one week if I have a silk press after that it's done it reverts back to its natural state. And I love it
Wow! So pretty! What colors did you use on the hair? When I wore my natural hair to work people wanted to touch it.
Not sure if I ever commented but love your videos ❤ you crack me up 😂, love seing take downs for some reason AND get educated 😊
