What a show. I am a big fan of Gene Krupa. Dom puts FEELING into his beats just the same as Gene done, and he is enjoying every bit of what he is doing. I have seen Buddy Rich attempt to upstage Gene on the Sammy Davis Jr. show and they called it the "DRUM BATTLE". Rich was so up his own arse it was unbelievable. Gene had already paved the way 30 years before in the 1938 Carnegie Hall concert with Benny Goodman. As they say Gene made drums an instrument on their own, not just a bass kick and wire brushes. There are many, many heavy rock drummers who say Gene was their inspiration, not Buddy Rich.
"SING, SING, SING" is the Perfect Song for drummers. I'm glad so many of them have recorded this great song so I can watch their different styles of drumming. ALL of them are GREAT!. This is a "tail wager". Thanks for putting this out here for all us to enjoy! Dom Metz is a joy to watch. He makes banging those cymbals and skins easy. I can really tell he is enjoying himself. "SING SING SING" IS MY FAVORITE DRUM SOLO! GENE KRUPA WOULD BE PROUD!
Dominic Metz: at the very least, I dig it the most!

Practice makes perfect and it did. But where does he practice? Imagine being his neighbor.
.....:) Wonder whose Arms are Stronger....?????...A Boxer or A Drummer...????.......LOL.....I think the Second...!!!!.....LOL.....🥰🥰🥰
bravo Dom
Awesome Band!
Just perfect!
It sounds as though someone threw a drum set down 5 floors. Nutter.
Amazing
Nice. Different version of Sing Sing Sing
Outstanding!
Fantastic!! ❤
Fabuloso....
If you guys want the best cover of Sing Sing Sing watch Peter Criss live in 2017 it’s amazing and the very version I taught myself to play
good joke
That floor tom needs a cigarette after this..😁
F...ing great!
00:48 Weird place to go from playing the floor tom to the ride cymbal.
definitely
Im glad you picked it up to and in my opinion its was the worst performance
I went to a swing concert and a Tommy Aldridge drum solo broke out.🙂 🤷♂
amazing.....
It looks like he is holding two sticks at once....Dear lord.
he played the melody of the song with the floor tom
Fantastic solo. Makes me tired just watching.
Where's the flare?
Wipes out "Wipeout".
What brand of drums. ...a bit too much cymbal playing.
The rest very good.
Would Gene Krupa be pleased with this version? I don`t think so. How to murder an ageless big band classic.
Why do you think that?
Because he plays the Krupa swing classic like a mad man.@@marksimpson2321
DID THE VAUNTED JOHN BONHAM EVER ATTEMPT THIS CLASSIC?
Not really Bonham`s style.
Sloppy...............
Very sloppy and and the great Gene Krupa would be rolling in he's grave listening to this crap
too noisy and not at all elegant
this was without a doubt the worst rendition of this song ever
Not playing it correctly. He sucks
Horrible!
Sing sing sing, played entirely in the matched grip? Sorry, not acceptable.
