I spent several hours every day for a full week to finally get it right! There was one mistake I kept making! - not adding a bead after the 3 at the top. Whew! I used gold beads. By the time I finished, the gold had come off most of the accent beads! Never mind! It was all a good lesson in every way! (not to use the gold beads! - or at least go for solid gold......???!!!! But my end result was very floppy. Jill Wiseman shows how to remedy that. I used gold seed beads and delica for the main colour: black. Can't wait to do the other earring! A good, calm explicit tutorial. Thank you so much!
Hi there - let me share a short-cut and time-saving way to begin these wonderful "Russian Leaf" pieces. It's SO easy, too! For the beginning row only, you will use two needles. On one needle, pick up three beads. If you're using an accent bead, it will be the second bead you pick up. For the fourth bead, take both needles through it in the same direction (from bottom to top). From this point on, one bead on each needle, then both needles through the third bead from bottom to top. Repeat this for the desired size of your leaf, ending with both needles coming out of the single bead. From here on, you use one needle for one side of the leaf, the other needle for the other side of the leaf, following the standard "Russian Leaf" stitching. This also eliminates the task of stitching through the beads when one side is finished to reach back to where you started to begin the other side. You may send my check to.............. ;-)
Bravo! One of the best teaching videos ever. You are indeed an excellent teacher! Keep it up!
Thank you 😊
What a great idea to make a bracelet out of them. A necklace would be awesome as well.
What an amazing bracelet. This can also work as a pendant for a necklace. Got me thinking now. Thank you xx

Very nice but bad illumination and occasionally hands out of the camera. And one question - starting with eleven beads? Thank you!
I would like to order the kit. How can I?
Right here Catherine www.spoiltrottenbeads.co.uk/product/russian-leaf-charm-bracelet-kit-19-shades-miyuki-150-10-page-pattern/
Good instructions on the first part of the leaf. The instructions for the second part going up the leaf suck.
