    I had a MemoryMoog. It was one of the first built. The serial number was 0006 written in magic marker! No midi yet and I gigged with it every night which meant I had to tune it (no small feat) everyday. Still, it was an amazing instrument. Our album (Johnson & Drake) is primarily MemoryMoog driven.

    Here's a story you are all going to hate me for; back in 92 I'd saved enough money to buy my first synth a Korg M1. Walking by a pawnshop I saw they had one of these Memorymoog same price as i was looking to pay for a new M1, knowing nothing about these machines I let it pass... yes, I know🤨

    • @derekbaker3279
      @derekbaker3279 5 лет назад +3

      No hate from me! 🙂 The reason these Memory Moogs are so expensive is that you are not alone...many other synth lovers have the same regrets as you, and now they are wanting to correct their 'mistake' by purchasing one. 🙂

    The Memorymoog was the last Moog I ever bought (1983).
    A bittersweet memory. When in tune it could produce awesome pads/stabs. The ability to put VCO 3 into either low or hi frequency was extremely useful...Also very useful was 'voice deactivate' via the keypad which was a common procedure unfortunately.
    Kept it for 9 months and moved on to JP-6/JX-3P combo...then I was happy again.
