The coach is on point. I have a lot more confidence in the program going in the right direction.

@Cartell Phillips Ole Gus did beat Saban a few times. And currently Gus and Kirby have identical accomplishments (Kirby has a higher win %, and recruiting classes)

That's all Kirby has been able to do is match Gus with hardware.
But the SC loss at home was so bad, I'm deducting 1/2 point from Kirby. He's at least had some top 3 recruiting classes.
Gus was known for QB development issues. Kirby has a solution though. Let Ohio State develop the 1st round guy

I am 50 years old and have been to every home game since 1957 except last year and this man is what we needed after the village idiot was fired. Gus lost his fire and became stagnant in his coaching stopped using the hurry up, never ran slants, and he never not once coached up his own qb he only had success with another qb he didn't ruin. If you are old enough like me to remember when Coach Dye came in he ran almost half the team off because they had no competitive edge and were lazy. The players now that left were the same way because Gus held no one accountable. I don't care what the win loss record is this year I look ahead to the future. This man is not playing around at all you watch and see what he does with our program we will be back fast you see the passion and the fire he has and it will bleed over to the players, coaches and we the fans. Be patient because Gus left us a hot mess to deal with and it takes a real man to change it and we have one. WAR DAMN HARSIN!!!!

Gus malzahn screwed up the recruiting so bad. It's gonna take Coach Harsin at least 3 years to get this right. But I believe in him. Was 🦅
i don't think it will take that long at all. the only question mark is recruiting but he hired 2 of the best SEC recruiters out there. if our OL is any good or improved, then we will be fine. our defense will be fine. but yes, malzahn sucked
If they go into Happy Valley and win convincingly or even make it a really great close game, you will see great recruits start looking at auburn. Top-tier program with new facilities and very quick playing time, as well as a real path to the league!
Gus couldn't coach his own qbs at all not a single one he only had success with the ones he didn't have time to screw up with his gimmick offense.
@Cartell Phillips Gus wasn’t dumb; he was just stubborn. Because of him (in part), Auburn had its best run in recent memory and went to two national championship games in three years. Gus’s problem was that he never adapted once his system was stale, and he apparently wasn’t getting the most out of his players. Obviously, it was time for Gus to move on given how far behind our rivals (and especially UGA) we were falling. Hopefully Harsin can achieve the Gus level highs and make them consistent. I’m cautiously optimistic about the future of the program. War Eagle!
@Cartell Phillips I agree his offense was outdated and that he was stubborn (and maybe not even a good teacher). I hope Harsin and Bobo can fix our offensive woes. Can’t be any worse than Chad Morris. Man had Tank Bigsby and still let Bo pass 50 times a game. lol

I like Coach Harsin he gives me a Pat Dye feel. His teams will be tough, in shape and well coached. He will give Auburn a chance to win again on a consistent basis.

Well spoken coach. Glad Auburn welcomed this man & family from far away Boise. He isn't from their culture but if he wins games & loves his players he will be loved in return. Hope he fares well. He seems like he cud be a great hire.
Texas AM is a joke and THUGA is average not the win loss part but they have the easiest division there is in the SEC 1980 called
it's no wonder that a couple dozen players have left the team. But for the ones that stayed, I am not sure I'd want to line up against them.
They left because they were weak minded and couldn't handle being held accountable for once in in their time at Auburn glad they are gone they were a cancer to the program.

you have to understand though, we DO NOT want to JUST BEAT BAMA. we may have beat saban more than any team in cfb, but we could not win ANY big games on the road against bama, and all of our other rivals. gus could not develop players. he may have had consistent top recruiting classes, but he couldn’t do jack shit with them! and he was way too inconsistent! it was time for him to go. this new coach is here to teach our players discipline, and the hard work it takes to play on the field on game day. he’s also here to develop our players and get the very best out of them. he doesn’t take any crap and if you’re not willing to do the work it takes to win, than you don’t get the spot. harsin will have the best guys out on the field for us on game day. this is such a breath of fresh air for auburn football, we are headed in the right direction. if you can’t see that, than you’re just blind. and if you think we shouldn’t have fired him because he beat saban, than you’re also not a true fan.
