Saban just adapted to it just like he's adapted to everything else that's been thrown his way. He will adapt to Texas A&M purchasing recruiting classes as well. That's precisely what Saban was doing when he made the comments about Texas A&M to his boosters, he was letting the boosters know they will have to do the same to get the athletes they want going forward. Saban is the King of adaptation.

GO to the video that caused this response and you will see that Saban states how they payed their players and what they do. Everyone does it now Saban just makes his players earn it.
You’re correct in saying Saban pays his players, but that $50,000 Dodge Charger alabama players got over the past decade isn’t even close to the rules being played by today. Jimbo went 8-4 last year and you think a 17 year old cares to hear a pitch about “building something here”? They are literally told that by every college coach in recruitment. A&M is promising millions in NIL. Jimbo is a snake, and he was a snake at FSU.

Kirby only accepted the job after UGA agreed to give him what they wouldn't give Richt - more money for the football program. I don't know what Richt would have done with the additional funds.
Kirby specifically "demanded" facilities be upgraded to the likes of other 1st tier programs; a huge recruiting staff; and, other amenities for UGA to have a sustained competitive program.

I'm a Bama grad and a Bama fan. But... In 1978, going from class to class, I would walk by the parking lot behind Bryant Hall where players lived on-campus. Lots of new, expensive cars (including Corvettes and other "muscle cars") made this lot very different from regular student parking. No judgment, just reportage - but it made me think exactly what you're thinking as you read this.

Texas A&M boosters, most of which are Oil millionaires, they created a collective and used NIL as a guise to buy players. There are no rules in place, so technically speaking A&M didn't violate any rules because NIL has no rules or limitations. The point Saban made is that there has to be limitations in place so that schools aren't enticing players to commit and sign based on just money... You don't go to a program to get rich, you go to a school to get a degree, win games and Championships and possibly go to the NFL. Texas A&M is a middle of the pack 8-4 yearly program and they just signed the best rated recruiting class in the history of CFB statistically ever. There has to be limitations on NIL, programs should not be using big money to motivate players to sign. End of story. Watch for the next big step in this NIL story ... players coming forward and saying which coaches offered them what. It's coming, and I can't wait. Those locker rooms will be hard to manage with player A getting paid and player B not getting paid, getting pissed off. The accusations (not just between these two but all over the country) have only just begun.

To be fair, Saban never said Jimbo broke any rules, he just said that he doesn’t like the new rules, and how donors can contribute to a fund which can be used as extra incentive money to bring in recruits, which apparently T A&M did-legally.
(I’m not saying that this sort of money was or wasn’t under the table previously, and I’m not commenting on anybody’s past guilt or innocence.)

Your opinions don't matter, fact is fact. Texas A&M boosters, most of which are Oil millionaires, they created a collective and used NIL as a guise to buy players. There are no rules in place, so technically speaking A&M didn't violate any rules because NIL has no rules or limitations. The point Saban made is that there has to be limitations in place so that schools aren't enticing players to commit and sign based on just money... You don't go to a program to get rich, you go to a school to get a degree, win games and Championships and possibly go to the NFL. Texas A&M is a middle of the pack 8-4 yearly program and they just signed the best rated recruiting class in the history of CFB statistically ever. There has to be limitations on NIL, programs should not be using big money to motivate players to sign. End of story. Bagmen exist at every single power 5 school, kids have been receiving money under the table for decades. But the NIL shit is bad for college football when there is no limitations on it. People think its going to even out the playing field bit in reality it makes it worse simply due to the fact the only schools that will strive are in states that have big money like Texas, California, Washington State.... Etc. But of course individuals and casual fans like yourself don't even know WTF NIL was even for or about to begin with. Now historically bad programs like A&M are straight up buying recruits because they are allowed too. All I know is in october Alabama is going to absolutely run the damn score up on A&M and destroy them.

I didn't hear the whole Saban interview, but I did hear the part where he said A&M bought all their players. Even tho I can't stand Saban, he probably actually meant that A&M's NIL collective bought all their players. And he never said any laws were broken. Which is what Fisher kept defending. But Fisher never once said that the Collective never bought the players, only that A&M didn't buy them. Plus he was trying way too hard to defend it.
