  • Denmark has recalled several spicy ramen noodle products by South Korean company Samyang.
    The country’s food agency claimed that the capsaicin levels in the packet noodles could poison consumers.
    It's unknown if any specific incidents in Denmark had prompted authorities there to take action.

      Have you tried the ghost chili one from Malaysia yet? It gave me a sudden burn in my chest and I normally eat very spicy Thai food. The Korean noodle showed in the news I normally add more bird’s eye chili flakes to made it spice since the given paste is more on the sweeter side.

      I read the summary from the food health governing body that made the decision, it was basically banned to remove them from being stocked in local stores, in fear of another tiktok challenge related to less spicy chips that sent a lot of German kids to the hospital.

    • @phantomofnyx
      @phantomofnyx 5 месяцев назад

      @pul0y
      Well wording is a bit strong, I think maybe tidepods were because its obvious it's stupid but the "ban" isn't that I can't buy it, it's more a regular Danish super market can't have it at their isles, but same could be said about those crisps that got banned in most countries because children started hospitalising themselves with them due to a tictoc challenge.
      My guess is it was simply the easiest solution, where you can't ban cleaning stuff because people actually need them and it would be problematic, getting rid of a certain variety of noodles is kind of less of a problem.
      But if I were to guess why a psa wasn't enough that was likely based on the chilli crisp case where I believe they did psas yet tons of German kids and other European kids ended up hospitalised.
      I obviously don't know but I guess it was simply, an oh shit this is even spicier than the crisps and challenges are already starting up, let's just cut it at the root and try to be ahead this time around.
      I think better solutions could have been found but I suspect they didn't desire to spend time and resources on a "snack"
      And me as an adult can still easily with my credit card purchase it myself if I desired them, or most kids above 15? With a credit card, hence it's only really a ban if you only have access to local super markets and don't have a credit/debit card which 99% of all above 15 got

How about the parents just not purchase items that are clearly marked 2x spicy and 3x spicy etc. there by doing their job as parents to provide good nutritious foods for small children and not allowing said small children to eat these items until they are older, say high school age.
