This song reminds me of the woman that I dated back in 1986 and we just were not ment to be a life long commitment I found out two days ago she passed away in 2015 at 52 years. 😢 thank you Kathy for that moment in time may you rest in God's embrace for ever!
this song is most excellent. "and I do" followed by the gnarliest guitar solo ever conceived. can't get better than that. Reminds me of my summer love with a girl I still love
I was a stupid teenager in the mid 90s when i discovered this song. To say i was sober would be a big fat lie. I knew lz but not this song. I was absolutely captivated. So incredibly beautiful. By some incredible stroke of luck i got to see page and plant in the front row in 1998. Yeah, that was ages ago but it was absolutely the highlight of my life. Jimmy Page sweated on me and Robert Plant smiled at us. Absolutely priceless.
Robert's lyrics and the way Jimmy bends those guitar strings until they almost break. What an incredible song..... I think almost every man has a "Tangerine" from their past that they think of whenever they hear this song 💔
Led Zeppelin 3: is it country, is it folk, is it bluegrass, is it R&B, is it blues, is it rock, is it a badass piece of music with an equally badass solo at 1:39 ?
When Jimmy does his moody slide guitar solo, I love Bonzo's drums are so delicate compared to his normal style, and how dominant JPJ's bass is. Listen again and you will get my drift I think.
This is an example of what sets Zeppelin apart from Sabbath and Purple, and Jimmy from Jimi. Just listen to that solo at 1:40. The atmosphere and mood and drama! So many guitarists are just that, guitarists. Jimmy is an ARTIST!
They were more hick hillbillie American than most of the American bands at the time beating us yanks at our own game. Remember it wasn't until Zeppelin 4 that England knew Led Zeppelin was English.
Interesting in that it is coming from the spirit or soul ,this thought is in itself spiritual qualified by your choice of word...magic. It will be nostalgic on first person experience. Having taken place in its formative years. Will your reflection have magic once, installed ? We always will.
I feel like most people read this as a song about a long gone relationship that ended badly, but i feel like it could also be good as a song sung by a widower
Me recordarás? Pensaras todavia en mi?.... De aquellos dias?.. Yo si
Oh yell I remember drinking in the Pitts of good old South River, NJ enjoying where people didn't care what color or country you came from as long as you had money to put in for beer 😉 ah good times 😊
To think this album was trashed by the music critics just shows they didnt have a clue , trashed by hardened Zeppelin fans to at the time , to think its become one of their greatest albums produced, all 4 took them selves away to a empty house in middle of Snowdonia no electricity nothing just them selves instruments food and the rest they say is history good job jimmy page new what he was doing truly a master piece, the critics really hurt page that much that when producing led zep 4 he specifically left off any names tiles credits off the album all together as he didnt want anyone to know who it was until people listened to the album so he used symbols that represents each band member to this day led zep 4 is there greats album
Some folks where kind of put off by Zeppelin 3. Their first two albums were great blues & covers of great blues tunes. The guys kind of went toward a folk acoustic sound & it just blew me away. John Paul Jones really doesn't get the love he deserves on the bass.

Sad
This song is such bittersweet love lost. A thousand years between. I had the same girl in 95. She was my queen.

ghettograsshopper one could argue there are better solos, but this one fits perfectly!!!

Tangerine is a timeless summertime classic and a tribute to each and every love we left behind. Similar to Ten years gone.

One of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs , just wish it was longer.❤🎶🎶🎶
Robert's lyrics and the way Jimmy bends those guitar strings until they almost break. What an incredible song..... I think almost every man has a "Tangerine" from their past that they think of whenever they hear this song 💔
Pagey wrote Tangerine himself with no input from Percy or for that matter anyone.
@@garyblanchard1084 when I said "Robert's lyrics," I meant the way he sings the words..... I'm aware JP wrote the song. ✌️
Simmer down Gary, you missed the point!
I think pretty much every man can look back at that one woman and this song resonates like no other
This is a perfect song. Nice whistful lyrics by Jimmy. Probably my favorite Zep song. Thanks :)
One of my favorites too! Great chords, interesting use of wah pedal and that awesome transition... "and I do.."
I still remember times like these 😉😉
No wonder this album freaked everyone out, but it is truly spriritually incredible!
Led Zep III proved Led Zep wasn’t going to be a stagnant band.
A good song sung by a widower to his wife's spirit
Led Zeppelin 3: is it country, is it folk, is it bluegrass, is it R&B, is it blues, is it rock, is it a badass piece of music with an equally badass solo at 1:39 ?
All crammed into a blender and Tangerine is the tasty result!
It was all the things they wanted to do.
@@garyblanchard1084 amen!!
LZ3 and Exile On Main Street and Dark Side Of The Moon; the three best albums to ever be recorded
Lovely 12 string sound ❤️🎸

Actually pedal steel guitar there which is music to my ears
Well said. But yeah, pedal steel. But still, musical brilliance that will never be replicated.
It really felt as if they were trying to go beyond their own style in this song.
Well said. You worded it perfectly.
I love this song!
In fact, I love all of Led Zeppelin’s songs and albums.
I had every Zeppelin album...this was my favourite...

Fantastic song from the days of my youth...I love it!❤

Song reminds me why the early 70s was the best era.

British county blues, brought to yo by Led Zepplin. Blew my mind when someone told me the Led Zepplins was rock, and blues
They were more hick hillbillie American than most of the American bands at the time beating us yanks at our own game. Remember it wasn't until Zeppelin 4 that England knew Led Zeppelin was English.
There weren’t very many styles of music Led Zep couldn’t play and play well.
A truelly beautiful track tremendous distortion from Page and magnificent vocals.
such a great song
I love this song
Takes me back...far far back to a magical time with my high school love...
William finally got his cover story for Rolling Stone.

I have a Tangerine in my life !
I have had two good times with this song as part of the floor plan. Magical moments, in my opinion.
*Simply Beautiful* I have been in this song
Sounds just as good as you did when I came out.
Great Days in 🇺🇸 years ago
That sounded very nice.
Still does and always shall
this song feels so weird with bonham rushing on the drums. kinda amazing.
Tangerine! Tangerine!
this song reminds me a time before my born, something crazy, but something magic
Interesting in that it is coming from the spirit or soul ,this thought is in itself spiritual qualified by your choice of word...magic. It will be nostalgic on first person experience. Having taken place in its formative years. Will your reflection have magic once, installed ? We always will.
It is a super old album, as old as I am. I think they tell in their now ancient book Hammer Of The Gods, when exactly they worked on this album.
I agree; it's very spiritual and makes me feel like I'm having an out of body experience, if that makes sense....
Barely into second grade myself back then
For you Dennis - 1977 & forever

What's interesting to me about the drums of Tangerine is that, while in a sense fairly simple, they're still recognizable as Bonham's.
