It will kill nobody and posses no danger. But it is very dangerous to speed in your automobile and can kill someone. Do you do that?
@@ksg-knowledgeskillsgearhow do you program the uv-5r to be like the UV 5G? I would like these to be used for emergency purposes
@@gunnutz2030 there is an unlock "trick" you can do that will allow you to program the 5R with GMRS channels. Push the PTT, VFO and Monitor buttons while turning the radio on. You'll see the Welcome message followed by Factory come across the screen.
@@ksg-knowledgeskillsgear awesome! Thanks
Where's is the link at
For the gmrs licenses
How far can they transmitt. How much?
What's the range on them? Without repeaters
I just received my Baofeng uv5r GMRS
Does the license still apply to the entire family if we live in different city same state?
I love how one person takes the test, and a whole family is covered....
Tell me it isn't a tax grab!!
@@bmw328igearhead It's not a test. You're just paying for the license. A test is required for a HAM license.
@@charlesg63 still a money grab...
That's ham buddy.
I love my UV5R as well 😂
Do I need a Lic? I just got one!
Which model is the best for distance and one that includes 10 W and has all the high modes. I want to purchase one of these Beafengs? Thank you
To get to 10 W or more on GMRS, you'd have to go with a base station or mobile (in vehicle) unit.
Baofengs aren’t allowed for GMRS… that’s a ham radio
How far does it go? How many miles,
How much do the license cost and where do I get it
You'd go through the FRN registration and then go through the ULS using your FRN and pay the FCC $35.
So I would like to get one, but would like it to have 10w’s which one would you recommend? Thanks again
Most GMRS hand held units are about 5 watts. For the money, I'd go with a mobile for 50 watts.
HUGE bonus that it covers your entire family, no?
