- The EPIC General Hospital 1/29/2010 Montage where Sonny shoots his own son.
Johnny says no sign of Dominic.Lulu says where could he be?Carly says no Sonny & Dominic?Where are they?Carly and Jax says enough of the hold up.Lulu is nervous.She says what could have stopped him?She saw him an hour ago.Sonny says it's good,let Dante go by the book.Dante says anything he says can be used against him in the court of law.Josslyn's christening begins.Sonny cocks his gun.Dante says he doesn't want to do this?Once they find his body,he is as good as good.Sonny says they won't find his body.Sonny says he trusted Dante and liked him,and in some ways,he still does.He has guts and is smart.He gained acceptance from his family.He was considering him as his successor.He probably got a good laugh out of that,didn't he?Dante says he appreciated that.Sonny says that's all wasted.Sonny says any last words?Dante says he wants him to know what this was all about.He brings up Lieutenant Poletti.He says Sonny had him gunned down.He says he was one of the best guys.He always tried helping all the kids,and he helped him.Growing up with no male role model,Mr Poletti helped him and all the other kids.Dante is going on about how Sonny gets chauffeured around in his black limo,with his fancy suits,demanding respect from everyone,but not from him."I don't respect you.I despise you!" Josslyn is being baptized,Lulu is holding her.Sonny says he doesn't remember his precious Lieutenant Poletti,but if he did kill him,he deserved it (me:what an asshole).They are finishing off Josslyn's baptizing.Dante says Sonny should pray.Not for him,but for his kids.Pray they never see him the way he is seeing him right now.A cold-eyed bastard who'd kill anyone to get what he wants.Sonny says "Goodbye Detective" and shoots Dante in the chest.He falls to the ground.Father Coates is blessing the bond between a parent and their child.Olivia walks in and sees Dante on the floor,bleeding with a bullet in the chest.She screams "No! Dante! Dante! Dante,honey! Baby,can you hear me?" She looks at Sonny and says "My God! Sonny! You just shot your own son!"

14 years later and it's still iconic
This scene rocked the whole house, truly. MB, DZ and LL KILLED it. MB truly looked and acted like a ruthless mobster and DZ like a man who knew he was going to die and trying to do it with courage and dignity. I flove this show.
Best day of GH and best storyline they have done in the past six years.
That was amazing, gave me chills!! Today's writers in 2024 should watch these old episodes and see how it's done!!

So Damn Epic!!! I''ve been a GH since i was about 8, 11 years later I still love it and that scene with Sonny and Dante was probably in my top 10 GH moments...Olivia, It's Olivia's fault for not telling Sonny or Dante the truth, Don't blame Sonny, He was doing what sonny has always done, Protect his family...Sonny and Jason Make GH worth watching in my opinion, I love the Mob side of GH.

DAYUM DAYUM DAYUM. THAT WAS MAJOR!!! That has to be one of the most powerful scenes ever on daytime tv.THAT SCENE LEFT ME BREATHLESS!
This scene was one of the most epic scenes i've ever seen in GH and thats honestly saying a lot because they have a lot of awesome epic scenes in this show. Mondays episode is going to be awesome. I can't wait.

WOW! This scene, it's hard to put into words! AMAZING acting by everyone! And DZ is a phenomenal addition to the cast of GH! Speechless. I hope that at least DZ gets an Emmy nomination. The intensity of this scene is incredible. And DZ/MB have such a believable father/son dynamic. Not only do they look similar, but they are both amazing actors. Now, I'm rooting for DZ to at least get a Supporting Emmy Nomination!

AMAZING!!! DZ DID A WONDERFUL JOB!!!! I literally get chills watching this!!!! You can feel his emotions and the tears in his eyes make it that much better! I really want to see Sonny locked up for everything he's done!! This storyline truly makes me hate Sonny! (I used to be able to forgive him). I can't wait for next weeks scenes!!!
Sonny did not have poor gun skills. He did a body shot and was about to shot him in the head for the kill but Olivia came in.
This was a very powerful and intense scene, I told my mom who hasn't seen it yet that it was powerful and definately Emmy worth!!!!
One of the best episodes in a long time. The writers and actors did an amazing job. MB, JMB and DZ were fantastic and all are worthy of an Emmy nomination. Can't wait until Monday for the rest of the reveal and fallout. Especially when Michael finds out the Dom/Dante is Sonny's biological son and his step brother.
So I'm telling my husband about this scene and we're joking a little about the drama of it all. He asked me if the kid (Dante) dies and I told him of course not, the actor's on contract, they have to make a big story of the paternity revelation, etc. His reply was, "So, it'll be like, 'Oh, you're a great dad! Yippee!'" He was referring to Buzz Lightyear finding out Zurg was his father in Toy Story 2 and at the end of the movie they're out playing catch together! I laughed at the comparison!

Honestly, I don't think it matters if Michael is Sonny's "biological son" because he protects him like he is his blood. Just because they don't share the same DNA doesn't mean he is any less of a father to him, in my opinion that is his father, biologcal or not he still treats him like he is his biological son.

I love watching this storyline man it was so amazing!! I love all the actors omg I'm gonna miss the actor who played Michael he was so gorgeous and talented geez. Sonny you are ridiculous i know you love your kids but you're a really selfish man because you could have quit the mob and avoided this whole mess!!! Than his children would have been safe!! Instead this fool thinks body guards will help protect them when he's too bust to do it himself. Sonny had so much potential wasted in the mob!!
Poletti is an unknown, all we know is what Dante stated, that the man was a Cop in his neighborhood good to all the kids, and was a father figure to him, He made Dante wanna become a cop, Poletti was supposedly gunned down by Sonny and his crew and that's why Dante have a personal vendetta against Sonny, but from the way Sonny stated he dosen't remember killing Poletti, I have a feeling someone else killed him.
This reminds me of The Godfather....
Sonny does do his own dirty work, when it's personal to him, remember Faith Roscoe? the woman who made him think Michael was dead? and Had something to do with Carly's kidnapping? He personally killed her, and a Russian Mobster recently.
ohh crap. I keep forgetting that Michael is AJ's son. Sonny gets almost every female in Port Charles impregnated, so it's hard to keep track. Soo...that would make Dante Morgan's half-brother, right??

he was an under cover cop in sonnys organization....and got in really deep with them and sonny kind of looked at him like a son...then dante showed up to arrest him...and that was him mom that walked in but sonny didnt know that and he is in love with her!!!!....and obviously he found out he just shot his son he didnt know about!!!

Nope, step brother, Cause Michael is not Sonny's blood, he is Sonny's stepson via Marriage to Carly, and they are not even married anymore, unless Sonny legally adopted Michael.
Dante is a quick draw too. Johnny made mention of it in dialog he said "quick draw"
YEP, this is a Puzo/Coppola rip off when Michael Corleone stands as GodFather while the violence (shootings) is flipped in., This imitation of a classic scene decent but an imitation is just that.
DZ rocked it so did Sonny emmy time but him calling out Claudia was good minus the B's & Wh'es' LIke to see actresses written "for" an emmy reel. Seems the guys are getting "primo" writing.

i started crying wen olivia let out that screamm... do u notice wenever anything big (like a party) comes up something alwway goes wrongg! lol SONNY ACTULLY SHOT SOMEONEE nd ddnt get someone to do it for himm.
That was a great scene!! but all I could think of at the church was what a bunch of hypocrites! jason, Michael, Spin, even Jax (& Carly as she knows who Sonny is) that they're all celebrating this Christening while knowing what's going down.
wonder if she'd even be concerned if the person shot wasn't her son?!

I quit watching the dark and boring mobshow gh has become,only to peek at it occasionally here on yt because of JJ. However, I have to admit to catching it on friday. I thought it was so well done... then I realized that of course it's well done. It's straight from The Godfather! LOL. Real creative BG,Jr. LOL.

does dominic zamprogna have a contract with GH yet? if not they better snatch him before he goes somewhere else because I was trying to find out who has contracts with GH and his name wasn't on the list. HE IS A GREAT ACTOR, ever since he joined the show I've never missed an episode.
PS:- I like that they paired his character with lulu (such a cute couple) their relationship will be so dramatic because of their family history. haaa I can't wait

Well, he wasn't going to shoot him. But Dante was smart enough to figure out that the "mission" was a trap. So the only thing Sonny could do was shoot him right then and there, or else Dante would have arrested him. :)
is it just me, or does Jason look a little guilty standing at the alter? I mean here he is in church knowing that a good man is about to get killed and that he has a small part in it.
