His Dark Materials is a fantasy drama television series based on the novel series of the same name by Philip Pullman. It is produced by Bad Wolf and New Line Productions, for BBC One and HBO, with the latter handling international distribution.[1]
The eight-episode first series premiered on 3 November 2019 on BBC One in the United Kingdom, and on 4 November on HBO in the United States and other markets. The seven-episode second season premiered on 8 November 2020 in the United Kingdom, and on 16 November 2020 in the United States. In December 2020, His Dark Materials was renewed for a third series of eight episodes.

Man I hate to see this series end, I loved it the cast, plot, cinematography the aesthetic look of the show, the diverse cast with no racial overtones, you couldn’t ask for a better TV program to escape our current reality. Good luck and God bless to all you folks who made that show happen.

Well this video sort of redeemed the horrible second season. This season didn’t advance the story in any way. They just found a knife that cuts to only one world and Mary Malone just wandered about without showing any emotion that a computer (CAVE) was talking to her or that she just found a new world, both of which would be amazing scientific discoveries.
Did u read the books bcs then u would know that the knife can cut thru maybe infinite worlds so don't be so naive
@@xxgsxx4908 Oh josh golly! It can cut through other worlds?? Cause that’s what they were promoting what the knife could do in all the teasers and trailers for season 2. Don’t blame me if they didn’t use the knife/macguffin correctly. And I don’t want to read the books because look how stupid you’ve become after reading them.
@@faisalmemon285 i don't know if you know this but there's a thing called spoilers and why would you leak what the knife could do in the trailer. Moreover, S3 is coming out in 2022 and that's when you see the full abilities of the knife. It's a shame you haven't read the best seller books by Phillip Pullman and that's pretty embarrassing and many successful people have. Good night/day to you and stay mad
@@xxgsxx4908 Why should I read the books? Whenever there’s a plot hole people like you spring out and say “Oh you should have read the books. Highly intelligent people have read the books and you’re stupid not to.” I mean sheesh! People like you have been doing that since the Harry Potter days. Somehow Lord of the Rings fans are not like that. That’s because the movies were made waay better than the books.
And I’ve think you’ve just been born. How do you know the next season will have more about the knife even though this season there should’ve been more about the knife? You don’t know how stupid HBO makes eventual seasons. They make it bad. Look how they ruined Westworld. And they ruined Game of Thrones cause the author hadn’t written the ending yet. You’re a fool to have any high expectations of HBO, even through your own word, when you say something idiotic like “there wasn’t enough about the knife this season but there’ll be more about the knife next season.” Get a life.
Totally disagree with "not advancing the story in anyway". A fck ton of shit happened. But I'll be honest, the 2nd book had always been my least favorite in the series.
(Spoilers) Kinda the focus of the whole book was to find Will's father, Lyra to find out more about Dust, and Lee to help Lyra by finding the subtle knife & bringing it to her. I think they handled the Dust part well, though there was some stuff they left out from the books for some reason, but that's about it. Cuz first of all, Lyra found her way to the knife on her own. Lee helped deliver Will's father back to him but he dies before he could actually make it back to Lyra. And then Jopari dies literally just minutes after reuniting with Will (They also had to slightly alter his death in the show cuz it was handled SO much worse in the book). I remember finishing TSK for the first time all pissed and wondering what was the point of all that. Like what was the point of what all the characters had to go thru to get to that point??? I feel like that was exactly the feeling Pullman was going for, but that doesn't mean I liked it :((
