Another very entertaining video Alex, thanks. I have Odin 1 and weighing up getting an Odin 2 and watching this makes me thinks it’s worth the investment.
I mean considering the price point you might as well hop up to a Steam Deck and the capability increase is nearly to the ceiling for handheld PCs and through the roof for any 7th gen and prior gaming.
I'll definitely be trying this on the new Red Magic Nova tablet with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 im getting at the end of this month. CEMU's absence on Android has been keenly felt by me, so hopefully, it will reach a point where it's as good as it is on Windows.
This is great that it's coming to android. I have to source the right files for it and I may have to finally clean OP my sd card to make room for them.
Absolutely love the rambling 😂 dgy game save was hilarious. Trying out cemu myself on the odin 2 most games are just dark but im sure whenever they fix that so many game swill be playable. Paper mario color splash definitely doesnt work
I understand it's one of the more difficult games to run,. I didn't think it was worth trying for this Beta as I figure I'd have seen some decent footage by now.
I'm very curious if I'll be able to use my surface duo 2 with both screens and a wired telescopic gamepad. I feel that could be an epic Wii U experience.
When it's out of beta and in better shape I think it could be very good on the Surface Duo 2. Edit - and I would say it makes the Duo 2 a lot more attractive because this emulator exists.
This would only work if Cemu supports casting to separate screens like DraStic does. And if it does, the Surface Duo 2 won't be strong enough for anything high end anyway. MisterDNEH's DNA Duo would be worth looking into, though.
For a beta version. This is already good enough (compared to the initial release of other emulators) I think cemu already learned enough that rushing release will just create a impression from N, and maybe will basically ended up like Yuzu does. I like where this is going, I really hope they really do release it in 2025. And it's already par in performance/efficiency with the current PC cemu, so even if they get DMCA, it's not a problem anymore to the user (Yuzu ended in a really bad way 278: have a lot of bugs)
It's good to see projects on android go on especially after switch emulation development shut down. What troubles me, this is again a nintendo console, their ninjas are everywhere 😅 I wonder if even ps3 might get one day it's emulator, it's probably too early since the Cell chipset was a tough one and probably requires more power than an odin 2 can give.
I've just ordered an ASUS ROG ALLY from Argos for £499. I have 12 months to pay for it interest free! lol It's better for emulators and can emulate Xbox and PS3! Only downfall is the battery, but I'll be using a plug 80% of the time. I think I have made the right choice.
If budget is no concern then yeah you are getting a lot more gaming options when you start looking at a Steam Deck or Windows handheld. Very difficult to choose between them though, the Deck has a more console like experience with way more community support whereas the Windows handhelds generally have more power and more gaming options without workarounds. If you got the newest Ally (the black one) you'll have a better battery than most, and if your use case is modern gaming such as new AAA titles and demanding emulation then the wattage necessary to play those does drain battery fast...this is why a lot of people are looking towards Android devices like the Odin 2 for being powerful and having long battery life, as well as their compact size (holding a big ass handheld for a while does get exhausting). I still love my GEEK1S and generally don't play it for long periods, it charges decently fast and I love it as a docked PC for my bedroom. Just bare in mind those Xbox/PS3 games are quite big and require some internal storage for shaders and cacheing.
got it all loaded on my retroid pocket 4 pro, games show up, when i try to launch a game it kicks me out. I'm on version 1.0 from an apk file, is there a newer better one?
I've not been able to get CEMU to work on the RP4 Pro, and it's probably because it has a Mali GPU. So I don't have high hopes of CEMU working on it in the near future at all.
Yeah i can't get d-pad to work in-game on Odin 2 or Odin 2 mini, and I've seen comments saying it doesn't work on the AyaNeo Pocket S too. I think the emulator just doesn't support d-pad in-game at the minute which is a shame. Still, mega early days and the emulator is running relatively great.
Eventually yeah but Idk why specifically it won't boot properly. Might have better luck with Winlator tbh as it's over 10 year old and might perform better at this point in time.
@@SteelCitySniperYT Because it's not on GOG you'd likely need the original PC files (probably from ubisoft launcher, maybe from steam) and a crack for the exe, as far as I know. I can't tell you anything more than that for legal reasons.
Wind waker looks amazing on my razers edge and no frame drops or anything. Only problem is it's a 21:9 ratio so when I set the graphics to widescreen it kills the performance. Since everything is still set up like the PC version. But mods work fine with the emulator.
Hey Alex. Fancy trying this beta on the RP4 Pro? Tried it on the Pocket Air and just get a white screen - no overlay display or anything and the Cemu locks up so curious if it’s Mali or Mediatek related.
@@-roetaka Just tried the latest experimental (what you tried isn’t a beta) - doesn’t work yet on PAir - but it gives an error about not able to initiate virtual device and render to it. So that’s GPU related at the moment
Latest Ssimco experimental build of CEMU (as of 4 days ago version 356b1ff) now supports Mali. Looks beautiful on the Pocket Air. Slow but early days. Throw it at the RP4 pro.
I want these cheap handhelds to start making Steam OS systems. Or I want Xbox to make a handheld. Whichever comes first is going to be my ultimate handheld device. Or i guess these handhelds could make one dedicated to bazzite? I heard that's like the best one that's closest to steam os.
They're a touch smaller, I have vita thumb caps on them to give them a little more comfort and height and they're great for me. But there's many different mods and sellers doing sticks, they're easy to pull off and add new ones.
Mass Effect 3 Special Edition runs on both my Flip 3 and Fold 3, both with the SD888. There's lighting and texture issues but the game is playable. However on another of my devices with a SD860 it crashes on trying to start the game.
Interesting! There was only a couple of options to test in this Beta so I didn't think much about it, looking forward to the first proper release for Android.
Please make a video how to download and set up CEMU on Odin 2. Can't wait to play Wii U it's a dream come true I finally get to Wind Waker HD, and Black Ops 2!

@@Akaraah now you're asking too much buddy at that point it would have costed like 400 bucks. The 888 would've put it somewhere in between the odin 2 and the rp4pro instead of the sidegrade we got, while costing just a little bit more
@@ZioFrankekko it could be a little cheaper at this point. The razer edge that has the same G3X gen 1 chipset goes for under $250 now.
