Today we would like to defy this tough reality by demonstrating the market’s cheapest expedition rigs that still possess worthy globetrotting capabilities, but at least carry price tags in 5 and lower six figures margins.

You can buy a decent army truck online for £20K to use as a base vehicle. Then spend the same again on a newish 2 / 3 berth caravan and strap it to the back and HEY PRESTO, instant overland truck.
One of these vehicles on this vid was exactly what I just described, only they are charging $150K for it.
What's the labour cost? I saw a build where the guy spent $9k for the truck/van, $25k for the 4x4 conversion, then $60k for the cab so $94k for the lot.

I would start building one with a Kamaz, 4x4 (4350, €37k), 6x6 (5350, €40k) or 8x8 (6560, €110k) depending on the needs. If the sport variant is good enough to win the Dakar 18 times a stock should be more than enough as a basis of a expedition vehicle.

the Aeon RV best suited with the IVECO Daily M140 20W 4X4 + 2.0 in. Lift 5.6 TDI I6 4-Dr Double Cab Camper Truck (RHD) . . .
Two of those are constructed with our camper kits.

The hunter rmv isn't a good value because it's a $25k truck with a $18k travel trailer bolted to it. They disguise it with the shroud between the cab and camper section. The other vehicles on the list are much better options

So you're suggesting an Expo vehicle is $100K+, define budget! I guess this was click bait, how about a 1971 Volvo 245, RTT, tent and gear, it will go p-laces those monsters can't. Now, put a real budget list together.
