    Lori, I just wanted to say how much I value you, I honestly think it is wonderful that you show people how to make wreaths and more give out free advice on business tips. I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos, you're so easy to understand and to follow always keep my attention. Showing me how to make a bow by hand wow that was always a challenge for me but thanks to you I finally got it. You are the best. I have learned a lot from you and still learning with every video I watch of yours. Again THANK YOU for all the information you have given me and the rest of your new clients your wreaths are amazing and so worth every penny that is where I want to be, again THANK YOU I can't say it enough. A Loyal Client Melisa

      Hello Melisa! This is the sweetest comment ever and you are so welcome. You don’t know how happy it makes me to know that my videos help you so much and that’s awesome that you can make bows by hand now. I’m always here to help if you need anything and thank you so much for your kind words. Lori

    This is so great! I think people who have never “made” anything themselves cannot appreciate what goes in to the creative process. Your time is really priceless and your “intellectual property”. The time spent putting together colors, products, and designs. The wear and tear of your “tools of the trade”, etc. As far as shipping, I would add it in to the cost...I think some people are shocked and turned off by the prices of shipping in today’s world. I love your channel and think you are an amazing designer! I’m so happy I get to watch your videos. 😊

      Oh Julie you are so kind and I’m so happy you enjoy my videos. You took the words right out of my mouth when it comes to hand made items and there is a lot of cost associated with it. It’s very unfortunate with everything going on and I really hope it gets better. Thank you so much for watching, Lori.

    Hi Lori...i have watched many of your video’s and just made a wreath for a friend and the wreaths that i created before were not a nice as this one and didn’t know how much to charge. She suggested $80.00 which i thought was a good price and then later she told me what you just said in this video which is hard for me because she is a friend and i didn’t want to charge her too much but you are right. Don’t take what you did for granted. You did this wreath and your time and money and you deserve to get money back from the product. Thank you for teaching me how to do an amazing wreath that she is in love with.

      Hello Justine! You are very welcome and I’m happy the video was helpful. It’s very important to get paid for your time and money you put into the wreath even if it’s a friend. I usually charge $85 for my wreaths. The important thing is that she loved it and I’m sure it was beautiful. Thank you for watching, Lori.

    Thank you so much for the information! I have only been making wreath & things for a hobby & have been giving them away for a few years now. I can't afford to keep doing this! My husband will say things like, "sell it for this much or sell it for that much." I needed to know how to go about setting prices & setting them fairly but not cheaply. I signed up for your price calculator. I will be doing a lot of "homework" & looking at what is out there & for how much. I watch your video's & have learned a lot. Thank you again.

    Thankyou for this video!!!! I love all of your videos!!! I have a question tho, how do you keep your deco mesh from fraying???

    • @craftingwithhwm
      @craftingwithhwm  4 года назад +1

      Hello Jasmine! You are so welcome and I’m happy you enjoy my videos. The most important thing about fraying is where you get your mesh from. Hobby Lobby mesh frays as well as Dollar Tree mesh. I buy mine from online websites like Trendy Tree, Craft Outlet, and The Wreath Shop. You will have a lot less fraying if you use good mesh. Mesh naturally frays so the best thing is to handle it as little as possible and trim the frays at the end. A lot of people use wood burners too which seals the edges of the mesh to reduce fraying. You can get one from Walmart or Amazon. I hope that helps. Thank you, Lori.

    Thank you again! I’m working on EVERYTHING you said we need to do. My big question is, I haven’t sold ANYTHING, I’m not ready or confident. To do anything, I need to buy sooo many things, I’m wondering if I need to get a wholesaler BEFORE selling $600; just to afford what I’d like to get instead of what would “”get me by” affordably. What should I do?

    • @craftingwithhwm
      @craftingwithhwm  5 лет назад

      Hello Marsha! Those are great questions. The most important thing I tell my followers is to not get discouraged. Right now is a slow time for a lot of crafters but it should pick up when we get closer to the holidays. I honestly purchase a lot of my supplies online from Craft Outlet and Trendy Tree and would probably say to wait. You can also try going to a craft fair to sell as well. Just don’t give up and join my free group on Facebook called “Everyday Craft Dreamers” cause you will have lots of support. I’m here if you ever have any questions. Thank you, Lori.

    Aloha Lori, thank you so much for all your teaching. I have actually been watching you for four years now. I did make wreaths and have sold a bunch.
    However, I did not have all this good information.
    I started this wreath business because I was care giving my parents and needed to make income. But since then I was not able to do this full time because of other unexpected things that hopped on to my ban wagon.
    I also wanted to join your small group but really couldn’t do it at the time.
    I was wondering how much is the price calculator.?

    Great advice Lori!! I started out making wreaths for fun. Then would make a couple for friend's birthdays. I made a Patriotic wreath for my M.I.L. for Mother's Day and several people have asked her where she got it. Posted some pics on a social platform and people asked if they can purchase them. I have really been charging WAY less than I should. I practically charge a few dollars over my cost because I was just doing it for fun and more so for practice because I was a beginner. Not enough confidence. Now I am inundated with requests from friends of friends so I am really going to have to keep close track of ALL my costs and start charging way more money. Thanks for much for the tips it is what I needed to hear and already knew. I watch your videos all the time and have learned a great deal from you.

I will figure my prices at a 50%, 75% and 100% and decide what I want to sell it for knowing 50 and 75 are not enough. Thank you so much for this advice, its greatly appreciated.❤

    Thanks so much for this video Lori that I so needed! I've rented wall space in a local antique/flea mall to try selling my wreaths and they are really priced so much cheaper than most sell them for, but I don't sell many because people think they are priced too high. I've even had the store call me with requests from customers asking me to lower the price $10.00 on a particular wreath and they will buy it, which I refuse to do. After listening to this video, I think my wreaths are in the wrong place to sell and I need to rethink where I need to sell them at an appropriate price. I've received many compliments on my talents for wreath making from customers when I'm in the store, but they don't buy them, so I think they might need a new home!

    • @craftingwithhwm
      @craftingwithhwm  6 лет назад

      Hello, there and welcome Gaby. Thank you, very much. I am glad this is an opportunity to help you find a better way to sell. I want to tell you and I stated on Etsy I wasn’t doing well at all, back then after a while I said something it’s not right. So, I went and made my own ebook own my self it has been very successful in selling and the most important out of all how it has helped many people with their sales and also beginners to sell on Etsy. On that ebook it shows set up and much more. Maybe, you do need a better place for your items to sell. Remember when selling in any local market they always want you to lower the price. So, in the featured look at it like this. If, I take away from the asking price let’s just said that 10.00. Well you’ll look at like this that is almost 2-3 rolls of mesh of better yet that is almost what I paid for the base itself or also look at this was minus ten that’s is on roll of ribbon I’m giving away. So, I hope this makes you understand what the examples I’m trying to open your eyes. I will send you my Etsy store. It’s a little empty as for now but when I get back it’ll be restocked again. Thank you don’t forget to like and share. Lori.
