More double coins, and more mushroom tyre ssmts. There's not really much else to say. Outside of the change in coinstrat and the ssmts, the only difference is that I found out that turning in the air with r is faster than going straight down and trying to bounce off the coral. It's honestly pretty magical to see this track at a 45 now, so i'm pretty happy with this run.

There are more consistent approaches then what is done in the TAS obviously lol, but yeah it's never easy, it does take quite a lot of perseverance to get a run in real time
the glitch itself is tough but not as tough as getting the perfect lines/time( including glitch).
getting the lap to count is the hard part trust me i've done half a dozen 3/3

But I got one question. Is "GCN" the shortform of GameCube? If yes, why is it "N"? :D In GameCube is not a single one and I never knew why this is.
Edit: I just googled for it, why ever I didn't do that earlier. GCN stands for Gamecube Nintendo. It's official press name is NINTENDO GAMECUBE or GCN in all-caps.
I didn't actually know why it was gcn, so thats good to know!

I've landed this glitch a lot but more often than not my lap doesn't count, do you know why that could be?
If you're too far to the right the lap doesn't count. For rta, you pretty much have to go behind the coral to get the lap count

I guess Mario Kart 7 must be really generous with its checkpoints if it lets you get away with that
The checkpoint system is somewhat generous, although with this track yeah you can do pretty much anything you want in the parts of the track that overlap
How do you even discover these?? Like seriously it's so specific!
I didn't discover this one, but with an understanding of the checkpoints, and also which spots are possible to clip into walls, it makes it easier to find things like this

TAS code moment. if i didn't hold r this is actually further to the left on most laps than the old tas, but just turning while in midair was a massive timesave since you get the lap count earlier than the landing

It depends on the trick. On this specific track yes, but it's faster to not go in the water for no glitch, so it only applies to glitch. On some tracks high tricks are faster. In most cases low tricks do tend to be faster though
What is TAS?
TAS is a tool assisted speedrun. It's a speedrun created using tools, such as slowing down the game (I usually TAS at 15% of the normal speed), as well as savestates to retry sections until they are optimized. There are also some other codes that we use, but those are the basics, and both are built into citra emulator
