It doesn't sound bad. Exposing the abject ridiculousness of luxury makeup companies = consumer rights. Being a fan of a brand, tbh, sounds so awful and wrong to me, but showing the very real, very poor value of these products is nothing but right! Consumers before brands (needs a cuter version: shoppers before scammers, but better than that lol)!!!
The look on her face when she got that fourth perfume sample was amazing lol You could tell that she was feeling a myriad of emotions and one of them is this luxury brand is really trying to play in my face
Well even the full size products aren't very much better than more affordable products... you're really paying for the brand, that's sadly a lot of these luxury brands? Even their staple products like purses or clothing or shoes? The qualities gone down hill
You could go stalk perfume counters, and get half of this calendar for free! If you are a DIY person maybe you could attach the charms to bracelet or make a cute pair of earrings. The lipsticks are limiting if you don't wear reds. Overall huge fail but hilarious commentary. I love this girl!!❤😂
In the 80s those mini bottles were free give aways when buying perfume. When the stores figured out how popular they were they started to sell them. I had shed loads of them in those little display wall shelves. I can believe they put these in a 600£ advert calendar. They only put cheap cheap crap and factory seconds in there
In the 80s, most sample sizes of higher end brands were free, or gift with purchase, where you would get 5-7 items in a makeup case. I usually waited until there was a gift with purchase to buy. Really irks me to see all the sample sizes for sale at Sephora and Ulta.
Uh so many things happened! They made me wear stiletto heels 38hrs + /week. First thing I was told by my manager was to be "scary and intimidating" towards the team. I was expected to lay out all the money and take a photo so they can count that I didn't steal any money haha 🤣 the team were very entitled and didn't want to listen to me about anything. They thought calling clients "babe" was acceptable. Customers were crazy as well... had a guy on drugs come in claiming he knew the owner and we needed to give him new shoes. The security guard we had on at the time was some tiny Indian girl who was scared so I had to call the police. Just madness...a whole different world there. Oh also no one is happy at work and complained about everything. It's a no from me and also the quality is actually pretty shit. We would have special orders for customers and they would arrive scuffed and they wanted us to sell this... so embarrassing! We would try to argue with head office that these custom shoes aren't sellable but they told us to figure it out. 🙄
It’s disgusting that they think they are so special they can charge 600 dollars for a bunch of tiny sample vials! It was fun to watch you open it though :)

This was actually a fitting end to the Advent calendar series. As much as I have enjoyed you opening these advent calendars, it really drives home the how much a company will do to make a profit. When I was a kid I was really happy to open my advent calendar that had one piece of candy 🍬 😂. Now every brand has one and CL really missed the mark!
It seems like these companies put so much effect into the calendar itself and then say, 'Yeah, just throw in any samples that fit the boxes. And put in anything else that didn't sell!'
Why be angry with the reviewer? She didn't make or design the calender... be mad at the people who made it and thought " good enough, it's ready to go"...
@@dianaqueenofcats5333I think she meant she shares the anger that the reviewer has with her disappointing advent calendar-not that she is angry at her.
It seems a lot of brands really flopped. The Swarovski advent calender has been one of the worst reviewed I’ve seen from videos of people opening them because everyone ended up with these tiny really generic looking ornaments that did not justify the price and this seems to be on par with several other High End cosmetic and skincare calendars as well.
19 minutes in when you said “that jingle gangle sound so help me” I actually laughed out loud. This wasn’t the finale I was expecting, but it was definitely entertaining!
I really thought they would surprise you at the end with a coupon for a full bottle of perfume of your choice. It is absolutely ridiculous to be so loaded with perfume samples, I was pissed for you. ❤

If you do this again next year, you should consider the Ritual calendar. They always have a design that turns into a gorgeous holiday decoration, plus a really nice variety of their products. (I don't recall you mentioning them but their products seem up your alley.) It's not as expensive as this but it fills that similar decor use.
I bought the premium one this year and it is absolutely amazing. It has a little DIY vibe, I put it together with my sister and we abslutely loved it and also love the opening of each day.
Imagine opening this and the last calendar together on day 2, and learning the butt candle is the better item Jokes aside, I did really enjoy seeing these calendar opening videos. It's like vicarious Christmas shopping
I just knew Louboutin stilettos, so I was curious what would be in that calender. I'm glad that you are so disappointed at it and clearly show it instead of trying to pretend to be thankful and happy about the thing's that are in it. It's a pity that you wasted your money for that but it was funny to watch. 😂 Maybe it would be better next time to donate the money instead of investing it in one of these calender once more. 😊
This is my first video of yours but I’m definitely going to subscribe and watch more! I lost it at 19:05 when you’re saying, “So help me. So help me.” So funny!
This is my first time seeing one of your videos. I’ve been wanting a luxury advent calendar… I just want to thank you for taking one for the team. I will continue to live vicariously through you rather than waste hundreds of dollars on samples!
That sucks that they took a 7 perfume sample set that they sell for $60 and split it among 7 days. That's less than $10 per day. Also, how many days were wasted on that one lipstick component? I would only buy a branded advent calendar if I knew they made a bunch of different products. The Sephora calendars suck but at least there's a chance at different products. Same with Elf and Ulta.
They should have put all of the samples vials in one day, all of the charms in one day & given the full size mascara, that way they could have put some other decent items in the days that the samples/charms took up
That was my reaction opening my Beautylish Lucky Bag last year and my bag at least had value. I hated it and sold most of what I received but at least I was able to get my money back from the sales.
@@cynthiafisher3392 I've learned that if you buy a mystery bag, an advent calendar, or subscribe to a monthly beauty box, you have to leave your expectations at the door.
what Ive learned from all these advent calendars is that stores are either filling them with their misprints and seconds to grab cash or straight up filling it with samples far less than the value, thinking itll be a gift and no one can complain about gifts and arent going to return it. I appreciate youtubers doing these, you are saving others from getting ripped off.
High end brands really are insulting whoever’s buying their products!! Like how are they just throwing free samples and putting an insane price on them 🙂
Biiiitchh nooooo 😭 Criminal! Lol. Honestly for me, your reactions made it all worth it... keeping in mind that I an not the one who spent the $600 on this. Whyyyyy. Not all heros wear capes 👏🏻

Thats the reality...apple phones ...purses ...ect EVERYTHING WE BUY its the name were paying for ...we delude our selves that its quality were paying for but nope 🙅♀️ 😅
And that’s why these so called luxury brands deserve to go bankrupt. They couldn’t care less about their customers where as small brands that are bespoke care so much

I would be expecting more make up even if the perfumes were full size that would be way better, but I would think it would have more make up than anything. Sure throw in a few scents (not samples). Some people may not want any perfume.
I didn't realise they had so many perfumes... the minis are cute, the vials on the other hand. I don't think they want to give you value like other calendars (SpaceNK, Cult Beauty etc.). I even saw a video on the Dior one that cost like 5400 dollars and she calculated that you pay over 2000 dollars more compared to buying the individual items.
OMG, LAUREN!!! I was not prepared for this advent calendar! What a rip off! As much as you’re hoping to get a good value for the items in an advent calendar, you’re also hoping to get some special things and not multiple days of sample items or cheap charms. Like maybe if that had only been a few days to pad things out, but wow. I hate to say it but I laughed so hard a few times as samplegate continued. Well, now we know for next year. Go British and stick to something like Selfridges or Liberty. Loved the series, and thank you so much for taking us along on the ride!
@@ChristChickAutistic they do! Shipping is pricey but there is an option to pay some flat rate amount annually to get shipping for the year. My friend has done it before and said it was convenient. So I might take a look and see if that ends up being a good option for me this year.

I received the LoubiRouge sample as a free gift with purchase of the Allure Beauty Box. It was the same exact one you received, except mine came in a cute box.
I think u made a really good point honey...instead of wasting 600 DOLLARS on an utter disappointment of random crap....take that $600 girls and buy what you REALLY want from the line. You'll be so much more satisfied AND not wanna light their fancy packaging on fire. Im never buying one of these shi**y advent calendars😭
My theory: Brand boxes suck more because they aren't trying to gain new customers. The obvious ploy for the beauty store and the department store ones is marketing - the brand featured in there have received some kind of business proposal from the company putting the box together to participate, have received information on what kind of ROI / conversion they can expect from participating and how that likely increases by x percentage points for every dollar of value they contribute. It also explains the cheapo, dinky shit you got in the Sephora / Ipsy / Whatever boxes - they probably couldn't sell all the spots and so had to cover those days (and avoid too much loss on the box) themselves and that's why you got office party leftovers. Conversely, as you've said, unless you are already a customer of these brands, the likelihood that you are gonna get one of these brand-specific calendars is EXTREMELY low, so they don't need to sell you on anything. Are they doing you dirty at that price point with that junk? 1000% yes, but the philosophy makes gross sense. I'd stick with the beauty store / department store ones!
If you find the price on the website and divide it by the ml in the bottle, you get 5 dollars per ml. She says that a sample is 4ml 24:18 . 5x4=20 20x7=140 (in case your confused where I got 7 29:10 ) so she got 140$ worth of samples
You saved me money this year. I really really REALLY wanted to get an advent calendar. I’m not made of money at all but I really wanted to be happy surprised and find cool stuff and just be fancy. You saved me from ones I almost got and I didn’t end up getting a single one. Maybe next year? Depends on what you see and say. So thank you for all these ♥️♥️♥️
Plouise has an advent calendar every year and it’s usually around, $300ish. But everything they give out is full size products that are not in their website, so you get unique items. Plus they all add up to more than $600 of you compare to similar items of theirs. It’s so worth the price point. Plus the validate packaging is always amazing, as well as all the packaging for the items. I’m so bummed I didn’t get one this year but omg. Amazing!!!! This year was a train and it lights up.

"The bar is set in hell"...Im dead 😂😂 i feel for you but the fails are my favorite videos simply cuz I love your reactions
Imagine opening this and the last calendar together on day 2, and learning the butt candle is the better item
Jokes aside, I did really enjoy seeing these calendar opening videos.
Maybe it would be better next time to donate the money instead of investing it in one of these calender once more. 😊
Omg that was SO disappointing but I loved watching you open it all 😂
This is my first video of yours but I’m definitely going to subscribe and watch more! I lost it at 19:05 when you’re saying, “So help me. So help me.” So funny!
Clicked so fast. This will be total crap, I already know it😂
Bahahha, my thoughts exactly. Last minute cash grab😂
Ding ding ding!!
The expensive ones always are it seems😢
Haha tell me why I thought it might actually be good… 🤣🙃
@@LaurenMaeBeauty there is always hope 😂 the charms and free samples killed me.
This is my first time seeing one of your videos. I’ve been wanting a luxury advent calendar… I just want to thank you for taking one for the team. I will continue to live vicariously through you rather than waste hundreds of dollars on samples!
I just LOVE the shade ur throwing and give zero F's that its a designer brand. Yea they screwed people over FOR SURE!!!
The viles should have been one day together.
Anyway, this was a good laugh. Thank you. ♥ 🎄
They should have put all of the samples vials in one day, all of the charms in one day & given the full size mascara, that way they could have put some other decent items in the days that the samples/charms took up
I am so sorry that you are so miserable through this unboxing, but your reactions are freaking HILARIOUS!!😂😂😂
That was my reaction opening my Beautylish Lucky Bag last year and my bag at least had value. I hated it and sold most of what I received but at least I was able to get my money back from the sales.
@@WendyandBradPitt I had an experience like that with the Charlotte Tilbury‘s mystery box last year! I will never make that mistake again!
Like how are they just throwing free samples and putting an insane price on them 🙂
I think that red charm is just the red bottom of the CL shoes
The lipstick without the tube looks like a tester.
Screw them for ripping their customers off
The designer version of the Sephora advent. 😒
Not even as useful as scrunchies.
At least there's more variety in the Sephora calendar.
@@WendyandBradPitt just an unscented butt candle
@@tracyfrederick5606 a whaattttt lol
This makes me low key depressed 😢😂
Biiiitchh nooooo 😭 Criminal! Lol. Honestly for me, your reactions made it all worth it... keeping in mind that I an not the one who spent the $600 on this. Whyyyyy. Not all heros wear capes 👏🏻
I think the managers of the luxury brands get together and make a competition: who makes the worst advent calendar?
Every year, the same people will purchase & they will sell out!
You’re so good at detecting the scent notes! It’s fun and inspiring to watch you! 💖✨
I was going to comment this. It is absolutely impressive to me how she can pick them
When I sold perfume, many years ago, I discovered that I had "the gift" too! Big deal! That, plus $5, might buy me a small coffee. It's fun to impress your friends though. LOL!
I would do a chargeback due to false advertising with that mess
That is one pitiful Advent Calendar!
Thats the reality...apple phones ...purses ...ect EVERYTHING WE BUY its the name were paying for ...we delude our selves that its quality were paying for but nope 🙅♀️ 😅
23:28 How nice that they threw in some invisible eyeshadow.
Can you return it? Or write to them? Is there a way for you to get your money back? This is just too outrageous
There's no way to get your money back on an advent calendar.
And that’s why these so called luxury brands deserve to go bankrupt. They couldn’t care less about their customers where as small brands that are bespoke care so much
Wow! I cannot believe how much money you have spent on all of the advent calendars just for us! I hope you get so many views and commercials to help overcome the cash you spent! That said, I enjoyed watching you open every box! I lived vicariously through you and your reactions!🤗🎄🎅🏼
It's important we rewatch videos as much as possible. As long as we click them on she gets the credit for the view. I love going back and spending a few hours watching her old videos. Every little bit helps.😊❤
At least they are tax write-offs.
I would request a refund. That's disgusting.
I would definitely be taking that back
Absolutely a return. It’s trash. all of it
I would be expecting more make up even if the perfumes were full size that would be way better, but I would think it would have more make up than anything. Sure throw in a few scents (not samples). Some people may not want any perfume.
Big brands trying to get rid of their low selling products again! These advent calendars are always terrible but thank you for the awesome video.
26:43, its plastic they make in chinese sweatshops for cents, its not expensive, you fell for the brand being expensive.
I equate these to bubble gum machine “prizes”.
I wonder if Selfridge's ships to the US.
@@ChristChickAutistic they do! Shipping is pricey but there is an option to pay some flat rate amount annually to get shipping for the year. My friend has done it before and said it was convenient. So I might take a look and see if that ends up being a good option for me this year.
@@lavieenlavande thanks! 😁
Omg stumbled along this video and can't wait to go watch your other reviews.. refreshing to see honest and funny reactions 💖
"The bar is set in hell" had me rolling. 😂😂 I'm sorry this was such a dud. I've really enjoyed the whole advent calendar series but what a crock for $600. 😑😑
This is my first video I've seen of yours. You are hilarious!. I'm so glad I found your channel.
Does the light up packaging make up for the butt candle?😂
I've been Leery of this brand because I bought a nail polish. It's better as a bougie weapon, than an actual nail polish. It chips !
A fool and their money are soon parted.
I really enjoy a failed advent calendar because you’re so funny! 😂
Not on topic, but this is the first video of yours I've seen. Your makeup is beautiful, and so are you. I really love your lipstick.
This calendar is such a gyp!
Yeeeeah ill keep my $20 Trader Joes advent calendar 😂 ive loved every single day so far and am planning on buying a few full sized versions of what was in the calendar. Ive had so much fun opening it
Never seen you before , you’re fun to watch; so real😊
Perfect for the "lipstick charm" lover in your life!
“This is a little bit insulting”
Louboutin: waaaait for it, you’ve seen nothing yet
I think that Coco Chanel calendar with all the stickers was way worse though
I received the LoubiRouge sample as a free gift with purchase of the Allure Beauty Box. It was the same exact one you received, except mine came in a cute box.
Clearly the moment called for it.
They don't think you're idiots - they know you're idiots.
so entartaining, so much fun, honest and down to earth. loved it.
You are killing me!!!!!! So appreciate your honesty...and humor. Thank You.
I'm starting to think it would be better to find/make an empty calendar and fill it yourself.
If you find the price on the website and divide it by the ml in the bottle, you get 5 dollars per ml. She says that a sample is 4ml 24:18 . 5x4=20 20x7=140 (in case your confused where I got 7 29:10 ) so she got 140$ worth of samples
those samples are free, tho, who are you kidding 😂😂😂😂😂
@ I’m not saying I don’t agree that it’s a scam but that’s just the math for it
You saved me money this year. I really really REALLY wanted to get an advent calendar. I’m not made of money at all but I really wanted to be happy surprised and find cool stuff and just be fancy. You saved me from ones I almost got and I didn’t end up getting a single one. Maybe next year? Depends on what you see and say. So thank you for all these ♥️♥️♥️
They should be giving mini perfumes and small eye shadows and better stuff. The charms are complete bullcrap!!
I watched this video with my mouth open and I just realized it... these "luxury" brands are delulu, this is a shame
I looooved this series! Thank you for doing it, even if this is how it ended 🤣😬
