  • Hello everyone and welcome to my channel.
    In this video I will show you step by step process of creating DIY Macrame lamp shade. I will be creating table lampshade but I'm sure you can use this design and pattern for doing ceiling lampshade. If you don't know by know I'm big fan of Macrame creations. I really like working with the cord, the process is just so therapeutic. I also like the cozy touch the macrame pieces bring to your interior, specially in the boho style home. But not only, using few pieces of Macrame in any interior style would look amazing. I decided to go for quite easy and very repetitive design. I just want my lampshade to be noticeable but not taking all the attention in my room.

    I just wanted to THANK YOU for putting materials list in description and in English ( btw your English is very easy to understand 👍) Your verbal instructions are fantastic. One question... how did you determine 11 cords to fit in each section? This IS on my to do list

    • @simplybya
      @simplybya  2 года назад

      Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it. ❤
      This number is irrelevant, as long as you have even number of ALL knots (in my case 6 sections with 11 cords each 6x11=66), the design should work out.

    • @debihinkle6100
      @debihinkle6100 2 года назад

      @@simplybya didnt answer my question lol... unless I totally misunderstood your response
      what did you do to determine you needed 11 cords for each section? how did you go about deciding to use 11 cords? experience?

    • @simplybya
      @simplybya  2 года назад +2

      @@debihinkle6100 this is just the amount which have fitted to each section. As I've mentioned before this number is irrelevant. I wanted to make sure each section is full and 11 cords was enough for this. If I would use thicker rope, the amount of cords would be probably smaller.

    Hey, the lampshade is so beautiful. But I would like to know more how you figured you need to multiply by 11 to find the total number of cords? Could you please explain ?

    Beautiful! Just a question, why do you multiply 35 x 5 ? Thanks 😊

    • @simplybya
      @simplybya  3 года назад +2

      Calculating how long cord you need for any macrame project is quite tricky. There is some set numbers you can help yourself with when planning your project. I multiply 35 cm with 5 as I think 175 cm of cord will be enough for the whole length of my lampshade.
      In brief - measure how long you want your project to by and then multiply with 4 or 5 to be on the safe side.
      I hope this resolved the problem :)

    • @simplybya
      @simplybya  Месяц назад

      It was 11 just to fill up that certain space. It will depend on your lampshade base.

      I'm really sorry to hear that. It's not good to waste any cord. I'm not sure why it didn't work 🤷‍♀️ did you multiple the length by 5 and then by 2 again? (As you folded your cord in half)

      I've got 6 equal section on this lampshade. Each of this section fits 11 Lark's head knot.
