I've just started metal detecting, is there a book that has depictionsof roman items, so I know what I've found? From my fist rally I thought I'd found only buttons but from watching I have clearly fond thimbles too. Lol
If ever there was a perfect reason to film a 4th series of the BBC series Detectorists and have all you guys playing yourselves in cameo roles !! that would be my jackpot and see you all doing the 'gold dance' .....Superb history and a Superb Channel Leigh .... 🤙🤙
Man this is my dream land for detecting! I’m from Puerto Rico and our history is a little over 500 years. Anything older than that is traveling back to the time of indians. Some day I’ll make the trip over to find me self some of that roman history. Love your videos especially the metal detecting ones. Cheers mate
to clean zilver you can take a bowl put some aluminumfoil in it then the silver and put soda on top and poor boiling water on it and let isoak for a while , enloying your blog !! thx bondi !!
It is nice to see you digging in a field and finding artifacts. Are you planning on making The Netherlands your home permanently. I am glad you had a super day. You are so lucky that Nicky works so well filming with you. That makes it nice that you two enjoy working together. 😀
though I had some problem with sea water It also ruclips.net/user/postUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn
Love the history of your fabulous finds today. Really enjoy your videos and your attitude you make everything so enjoyable. Thank you be safe.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
That was super cool!! Nicky did great video taping you 3 and your treasure was really epic with the silver coin!! To clean my silver I use a piece of tinfoil at the bottom of my sink, then I add boiling water, baking Soda and while vinegar. All I do is dip my silver in and take it out and it’s as shiny as can be. What a great treasure hunt!!🤙🏻☺️🐬
Love watching your videos and have gotten my 5 year old grandson watching too! He loves Bondi, you remind him of a guy that was on the beach when he was 3 and he took him for a ride on a Gator... he even remembered his name was Frankie.
the item on 21:56 could be a Knife Crown. I dont know the right term in englisch in germany we call it a "Messerkrönchen". it is a part from the end of a knife handle. greetings from bavaria Lechsonde.
I love the guitar music you choose sometimes. Makes it much more enjoyable to watch. Also love the positive reinforcement you speak to anyone and everyone. Well done mate. 🏆
Now this was some serious treasure hunting!! Only way it could have been better...if I was there as well.😂 Super Cool day. Roman Coins!! Fantastic you guys had fun. Be Safe ❤️🙏😎
Great video. Item with three loops is the top of a Roman key, iron bit corroded away. I think I saw the top of a seal box early in the vid too - flat bronze with two loops on one side
Love that your finding true treasure today. You deserve it. Love you guys. Nice to see Dennis with you too. 🤙🏻🤙🏻. Just wonderful to see you so happy. Hi Nikki. You have a great job. And u r very good at it.
It's about time you got some valuable finds for all your hard work, Leigh. I thoroughly enjoyed this. The weather looked pretty nice, too. :D See you on the next vid.
Somebody made that one day, not unlike today. Someone wore that on a day, not unlike today. Someone lost that on a day, not unlike today. Just thinking about it. They woke up, had breakfast, kissed their spouse and kids, went to work or to war, or just a stroll and lost it. Maybe they were bummed about it, maybe they didn't even notice. And now 2000 years after you find it and we have the opportunity to see it. Just awesome mate. Thanks for the cool videos! I'll be subbing to the channel with pleasure. Cheers!
@@BondiTreasureHunter Yes, and these small "everyday" things you find make me think about those stories even more than big archeological finds. They make it seem more relatable.
In the beginning, Two other guys..I have a coin, I have a coin, Lee...I have trash🤣 You ought to go back after the ground is turned. It may bring up more treasures for you. That's how I found arrowheads. Great finds and thanks for sharing
gosh you know alot about roman artifacts and such....im impressed, and i think this beats getting your pants all wet from the sludge you pulled out of the canal magnet fishing....good video, thank you
Man, as much as I love the magnet fishing, at the end of the day you're left with bikes, chav canisters, and rotten metal. This episode was PROPER treasure hunting. I am so jealous. Incredible finds by everyone. Wow.
And believe me, I am not dissing the magnet fishing! I'll take all of that you got! Hell, I'd watch you shovel snow. Also, I was so happy for Dennis in this video. He killed it!
I don't think the "minimi" is what you say it is. There is a cross on it, and the design makes me think of a coin minted anywhere between 800 and 1200 of our era.
Awesome finds, a lot of dream finds! Love the history on the Roman goddess coin💖. Happy to see you out with the metal detector treasure hunting, it’s like seeing you win the lottery for a change instead of pulling bikes out of the canals 🤟🏻eeeeuuuuu!
WOW! What an incredible place for detectorism! You are the man ! Like! They are Historical finds. Do local authorities not require that the findings be handed over to museums or archaeological institutes?

That was so awesome.....great finds especially that itty bitty coin.....wish they had fields like that here in USA but Romans never traversed this far either 😁.
A Roman minim, I guess that's what we got minimum and miniscule!😂🤣 cuz that thing performs magic it just disappears! Good video that's great to see something besides magnet fishing, excellent finds you guys
I, too, have heard about sling shot being drilled with holes so that they would make noise as they flew. (It's similar to the noise-makign apparatus of the 'draco' standard carried by Roman cavalry. There's an episdoe of 'Time Team' in which they recreate one.) Sometimes, slingers would scratch the name (or other indicator of the person he was trying to hit) into the shot (or 'bullet'). Hence the phrase used even today by soldiers referring to fallen comrades: 'That bullet had his name on it'. I've seen photographs of such bullets in National Geographic many, many moons ago. By the way, do you watch the channel 'TerraGermania'? Hans finds minims fairly regularly, along with lead bag seals. The lead items you found early on may be something similar.
Something you won’t find in a very young country like Australia Roman artefacts or artefacts of any kind Just shows how old history is in Europe And you had such a real nice day out in the country And not messing about in the those muddy stinky canals Looking for safes and bikes 👍👍
Who are Dennis and Robert ? I want to metal detect with them. I want to find Roman stuff to. I search for 20 years but haven't found much Roman stuff. I think it's great to search a day with them.
Definitely checked a few items of the Treasure hunting Bucket List..First Silver Roman Coin! Hope you liked this video 👍😃

What a lucky day you had, so many roman finds. Keep them coming!!
Thanks mate...this sure was just a dream day detecting!
Pp ok k
What kills me is you guys find a 16th century coin and say: “That’s really cool.” I find a 1964 nickel and do somersaults for half an hour.

So jealous. United states doesnt have cool finds like this!!!
So true! We can find arrowheads though it you find them cool treasure.
Nor Australia
Some places up north has a lot of old old items. I used to go digging with my Granny and she would find cool stuff.

Some great finds! This location is much better than the last time you were treasure hunting for old Roman coins.
Historic treasure - great finds!
So many great finds! I'm shocked you didn't find a bicycle though.
At 17:41 the flat object with the punch hole in one end looks like a medieval strap end.
Like all you do. Your enthusiasm is catching.
