I've been listening and buying CDs since Levelling the Land. Kind of hard to find CDs in the US of A and impossible to see in concert. I just keep putting up live shows and say this is the greatest band I haven't yet seen.
It's sad you never got to see them live they really are something else, the Glastonbury set of 92 is probably the best Glastonbury has ever seen but at least you have their great music.
being listening and seeing levellers in concert and various gigs for 16 years and they are awesome mcdermotts are a brillant band aswell. i had the privilage of seeing them live too wot an experience keep it up
Around about the time of Nick (McDermots 2 Hours) Burbridge there was another band Jam Jah Tree in Brighton as well, with Mark Chadwick in and Charlie Heather in and out of it too, lending an hand where he could. The co-founder of Jam Jah Tree Dave Tommo can be seen with his song Oh Dear Diana on RUclips. Dave Tommo and Jenny May are Purple May that can be heard at Band Camp.
seen both levellers and mcdermotts quite a few times over a 17 year span never been disappointed either...a new single in march of next year and a new album to follow cant wait..
I payed to have the Mc Dermotts first album (The Enemy Within) this comes from pressed to vinyl, best £2,500 I ever spent, I wonder if the Levellers would have heard it if not? All I asked for in return was a first pressing and they credited me on the album sleeve, which was a real nice surprise. Nick still sends me freebies of all his releases by way of thanks.
Nick sings his "corrupt corrupt" chorus from the original song at the same time as mark sings the "kick in the head" chorus from te levellers version. Clash of egos or agreed beforehand? Either way, a great performance. Ive seen the levs several times and never yet been disappointed, havent yet had the pleasure of McDs up north though.
Nick sounds like one of the Fury brothers from Ireland - Our old traditions, both English and Irish, transcend politics - long live the levellers - and f^ck the gentry that divided us!
As relevant today as ever-"The new details raise questions about the official version of events. The shooting triggered some of the worst riots in modern British history, which began in Tottenham, north London, in response to the treatment of the Duggan family................But the revelations also raise questions for the IPCC, whose public statements appeared to give a different impression of the shooting..." "Revealed: Mark Duggan was not armed when shot by police" today's Guardian.
Emma Pennington It's not anti English it's anti establishment Nick is British (Anglo-Irish to be exact) and Levellres are English, listen again. "How many Bastards have made their buck in an English Country Garden"

We still love Dirty Davey
My absolute favourite song, hey guys we are freakin old now!!
What a night that was. And an interesting journey home as it snowed while we were in the Opera House.
Did it now, snow at the opera house 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant. Burbridge is a fantastic songwriter, would've love to see him live with the Levs...best British band of our time!

love this tune ;) Always love the Levs since weapon called the world!
This is rather apt given the present state of affairs!
superb!!
Absolutely fantastic! I wish I was there, Levellers get your asses back to Norway soon!
Nick says how we are all feeling,it hasn't changed, the same shit just goes on and on...
oh fucking YES!!!!!!
I'm shocked you managed to get Jez to sit still for that long tbf
😅🍻
big tune
Fingers crossed this song will be out of date very soon!!! Today very much relevant!!
Big time awesome. Nick you ledge. Best intro ever. Don't vote. The same peeps still get in.
Credit due to the Levs, but nothing beats Nick Burbridge doing Dirty Davey, or any McDermotts songs for that matter. Legendary preformance.
Mr Burbridge and McderMotts 2 Hours Are Great too If You Havent Heard Them.
Went to both gigs at Buxton, the first by far the best, I mean after the mess n carnage the first gig left, why have the next on a school night?????
this is great !!!!!!

Burbridge! :D
@shadygrove937
Mcdermotts 2 hours is his band ...... I have their stuff too
That’s fuckin’ impressive.
4 Barstards fell off the wall 😏🙄😉🎸👏👏👏👏🥁🥁🎶🎶 Hup hup
when i was in prison a dude killed himself and it made me think of this song
Law looks after the majority of people and favour rich people. They make the law but what they do is not lawful in my humble opinion
what's the opening line from, a mcdermott's song?
Corrupt corrupt from the bottom to the top and you tell me it's the law!

No offence, but sounds like you are mistaking AOS3 cover of AK47s Tottenham 3, perhaps?
Seen poor nick burbridge get almost bottled off the stage at Beautiful Days 1
Dave Tommo was with these folks before they became the Levellers.
Shame Nick's live performances have been so few and far between!
Clash of egos or agreed beforehand?
Accident!
@GreenTeaGringo No, that's the problem. It really isn't.
Love the music but the anti English stuff is very simplistic.
Simplistic, but true! :-)
