    UPDATES:
    + Discovered a Death Combo with Tech Trap Fisherman's Slam: ruclips.net/user/shortsAzyb4Nlbz1U?si=afOv5hhjRHXFVoR5
    + As some of you may have already realized, avoiding every tech trap with side rolling right raises the question of whether there's a viable counter. The answer is yes and no. QCB3 allows for a hit on Side Roll Right and deals 76 damage, plus 18 damage with QCB3 for a total of 94 damage. It even hits if the opponent wakes up while holding back. However, it trades with some wake-up attack options and loses to side roll left, standing up, and staying on the ground. In my opinion, it's not worth the risk, as each tech trap attempt carries the potential to only deal 76 damage instead of the guaranteed 90 damage from the BnB route. On the other hand, other tech traps offer significant advantages, such as QCB4 and F4,1 launching for a full combo, and QCF1+2 launching with a heat dash or providing +18 frames on heat engage for 99 damage.
    That's why I didn't mention it in the video.

    since they nerfed the spike oki - the best counter to not get launched like that is just by normal standup (holding back; shown in the video too) They wanted to nerf Jun's combo but instead of focusing on Jun, they just nerfed a whole mechanic instead lol

      What you said is totally true!
      But be aware, that this patch somehow didn't affect Bryan. He has options to beat holding back. Especially in backturned it is easy to launch the holding back wake up option with QCB4. I don't know why he is not affected by the patch, but I even took precautions and tested in private lobbies with friends just to be sure.

    2:31 I feel though if they know how to avoid the tech trap by tech rolling right, shouldn't there be another thing to do vs side rolling right, no?

    • @LawFury
      @LawFury  3 месяца назад +1

      That's a valid point to ask!
      I've tried to lab against this as well and found out that Hatchet Kick (QCB3) does hit Side Rolling Right and also all other Wake Up Options (trades with some Wake Up Attacks), but loses to Side Roll Left and to Stand Up (also just laying down avoids it).
      I didn't felt like it was worth mentioning/going for, because Hatchet kick as counter measure for all these launch Tech Traps, does 76 DMG + 18 DMG (QCB3) = 94 DMG, If guessed wrong only 76 DMG.
      It might not be worth the trade for the Tech Trap, because you could just end the full string and get guaranteed 90 DMG.
      Whereas these other Tech Traps, really give you quite huge advantages QCB4 and F4,1 Launching for Full Combo and even QCF1+2 Launching with Heat dash or giving you +18 Frames on Heat engage + 99 DMG.
      They are more worth the trade of a potential loss of guaranteed Damage as QCB3 does sadly not fall into that category.
      Still you could ofcourse go for QCB3 if you know that your opponent "ALWAYS" tries to avoid all these other Tech Traps, by Side Rolling Right and punish him for 4 more damage with that. Is it worth it though...
      Ofcourse there might be something im missing out on, but for now this is all the info I've gathered!

    So i keep trying 0:13 online and ive only managed to pull it off like in this vid once. All the other times, my QCB4 gets blocked or I do the input too fast and i get B4 instead.
    Would an SS after orbital help make this more consistent and come out quicker?

    • @LawFury
      @LawFury  3 месяца назад +1

      This is a bit hard. You really have to find the timing to input qcb4. I tried with micro sidestepping and it works as well, but it really has to be a micro sidestep. I advise you to go into practice, set everything up like in the video. Do the combo and then record the status right before hitting d3+4, (2). Then you can each time rewind that screw moment into orbital -> tech trap choice and that way you can train this.
      Goodluck man!

    Will this work with db 1+2?

    • @LawFury
      @LawFury  3 месяца назад +1

      Just tested it out and yeah, db1+2 really catches the opponent on "Stand Up" and triggers heat engage/dash. Honestly though, I don't think it's worth going for. It only works on stand up, not on wake up (backward). Even though it might start a combo with a heat dash/engage on hit, using db1+2 for heat engage puts your opponent in a "downed" state, which only allows for follow up options like qcf1+2.
      For the "stand up" tech trap, moves like f4,1 or 3,3,2 are probably better options. Or you could go with the probably best one, qcf1+2, which catches both "stand up" and "wake up (backward)". Plus, it deals more damage than db1+2 and grants a full combo on heat engage without putting the opponent in a "downed" state.
      Thanks for the Input though, I hadn't considered trying out db1+2 after a tech trap.

    I need to ask cuz I don't understand... why does it work backwards but not front? I don't understand the reason

    • @LawFury
      @LawFury  3 месяца назад

      When you use Fisherman’s slam, you initially change your opponent’s position into back turned, which allows you to knock them down with their feet facing away from you. This is very different from a normal combo, where they face you with their front side, resulting in them being knocked down with their feet facing towards you.
      Now, lying on the ground with your feet facing away from your opponent behaves differently, as it restricts your options for getting up. For example, using 3+4 (Spring Kick) will not work when you are facing the opposite direction, and you will instead automatically perform a Wake-Up Low Kick/Sweep. The same applies to Wake Up (Backward) and Stand Up. The character has to perform a unique and longer wake-up animation to stand up from those two positions. Because this transition from lying on the ground to standing up takes a bit longer, you have a bigger time gap to hit them during that transition, enabling you to catch them with more wake-up options than you would be able to at the front.

    Thanks for this. Can you do tech traps off his command grabs?

    • @LawFury
      @LawFury  3 месяца назад

      As far as I found out, Command Grabs in the open rarely allow for tech traps and they sometimes offer you to connect 1 or 2 hits If your opponent does anything besides standing up as wake up option. Not really usefull there though in my opinion.
      Only at very specific circumstances you get acces to a True Tech Trap. For Example when you connect your FC db1+2 Command Grab and your opponent lands close to walls. When he now chooses to wake up with "Wake Up (Backward)", f4,1 would catch him waking up backwards allowing for a big boi wall combo.
      This is extremely rare to happen though...
