When you're issued a subpoena, it's not a suggestion. They're not going to forget about you! Maybe the system has been so corrupt, people are used to doing what they want with little consequence. But things have changed--there's a new sheriff in town! These beaurocrats had better straighten up and be front & center when called upon!
The two gentlemen who chose not to attend the above meeting were invited rather than subpoenaed. Thus they were under no legal obligation to be there.

While I understand why he made sabpenas. Um... an invitation is just that with the options being "I will show" or "I will not." It's called freedom and it is extended to those even "suspected of" what chaffetz should have done was not invite but initially subpoena those men. I think any of you would agree that it's a strong arm tactic he pulled by first inviting them then making the subpoenas. We are a country of laws and they should be followed by all and not played with because you have authority. We the people hold that ultimate authority. The indignation is justified, the blustering was not. I was more interested in Cummins demonstrating the more dignified way to give ATF the opportunity to change their approach. The chairman should carry himself with the same dignity, show power without resorting to forcefully acting out.
