The voice actress for Rhea said that her direction was a young, female version of Albus Dumbledore. And that is a very intriguing comparison; both are capable of powerful magic, both are very secretive and use the hero for a madlad scheme, and both lead a school comprised of multiple rivaling houses. Hell, make that a... complicated relative relationship version of Albus. So... does that mean Seteth is Prof. Snape? Only he doesn't use a magic Shun Goku Satsu on the headmaster this time?
I’d say Snape is more like Aelfric: a professor who specializes in Dark Magic and has an unhealthy fixation on the main character because of his unrequited feelings towards their late mother.
And that is also extremely interesting considering how both of them performed nefarious deeds in the name of their "family". And how they are shown to get horrifying enraged when things don't go to plan (Rhea in CF, Dumbledore in book 5/6)

So what I'm seeing is... Rhea is Byleth's grandmother. Rhea created a woman that would become Byleth's mom, married with Jeralt. Jeralt was not related at first, but then Rhea did a blood transfusion in order to save Jeralt. The mom's pregnancy did not go well; The mother and her son / daughter was about to die, but Rhea transferred Seiros's crest stone to Byleth and so he / she is born with the crest stone. Rhea... Ages differently like most manaketes so she doesn't get old? Am I understanding this correctly?
Only thing you forgot to add is Rhea is possessed by Seiros. She did gruesome experiments on people to reincarnate her mother after she couldn't accept her death.

She does have extreme methods but she really does out of a genuine want for a better Fódlan with no nobility and need for the abuse of Crests for more status. She is no saint that's for sure. this is what is screwed up about all the hate people have for Rhea. She implanted Sothis into Byleth primarily because Byleth would have died without the crest stone. Yes she wanted to revive Sothis, but it's pretty clear that Rhea isn't as fucked up as people make her out to be.
Super late here, but she really is. The experiments themselves aren’t quite as bad as those who slither in the dark, but it’s still messing with life. She also lied about the entire religion and used it to gain authority over all of fodlan. Then when things didn’t go here way (eg black eagles play through) she flips out and is willing to murder anyone and everyone claiming they are heretics. This is essentially the good ending for her where she realizes she been a bit of a bitch and wants to step down as archbishop. I do still think edlegard attempting to unite all of Fodlan by mass murder and power were worse though.
But what if Sothis wanted to rest in piece? To have her heart Frankenstein-ed over and over in different live forms must not have been peaceful while in limbo.

She’s kind of like Edelgard, like her she has a motivation that makes her actions understandable, also like Edelgard she has flaws that make it easy to see why people would view her in a negative light. Her need to bring back her mother, again whilst understandable, started to become unhealthy and dare I say obsessive, especially in the Crimson Flower route, and even if she saved baby Byleth life at the request of Sitri her goal remained the same. She still intended to use him/her to bring back Sothis like she did so with all the others, including his/her mother. Hell, considering the fact she disappeared after she merged with Byleth, even Sothis didn’t want her to do any of it and I’m glad she sees that by the end of the Silver Snow route. So yeah, Rhea might not be a monster or even deserve death but I think it’d be justifiable for Byleth to be angry at her.

Nope. I did Claude route, church route and had the option to save her first. Once I saved her, I did not have to fight her and she made a healthy recovery. She was healthy enough to become archbishop and do her shady shit once more.

If you only have an A support, the only confirmation that you get that Rhea is alive is Catherine's solo Guardian of Zanado ending, where Rhea steps down from her position as archbishop and Catherine follows her. The only way she becomes archbishop again is if you S support her. She most certainly does not do "shady shit" in either case.

If you go down the BE route it’ll split into two different routes when Edlegard tries to steal the crest stones. You have to choose to either side with Edelgard or with the church. This is the last chapter of the church route.
It's disturbing how little people seem to pay attention. Rhea is NOT Byleth' mother. She is also not his/her daughter, because Byleth is NOT Sothis. Byleth also isn't Sothis' reincarnation. Byleth is nothing more than a random child of one of Rheas experiments. So she isn't even Byleth' grandmother. Byleth got Sothis' heart by implantation, nothing more. Rhea could've implanted the heart in other children and she did that in the past. That's why she called Byleth "just another failure" when he/she sided with Edelgard. Brother, the Crimson Flower route only a portion of the full Lore; Verdant Wind covers the most followed by Silver Snow. Even Azure Moon has some pretty important clues as to what is going on, that you don't find in the other routes. It's literally impossible to get the entire lore by just playing a single route in the game. That's the whole point of 3H, to get to play everyone's perspective to have a clear idea about what the heck is going on.

this is what is screwed up about all the hate people have for Rhea. She implanted Sothis into Byleth primarily because Byleth would have died without the crest stone. Yes she wanted to revive Sothis, but it's pretty clear that Rhea isn't as fucked up as people make her out to be.
Super late here, but she really is. The experiments themselves aren’t quite as bad as those who slither in the dark, but it’s still messing with life. She also lied about the entire religion and used it to gain authority over all of fodlan. Then when things didn’t go here way (eg black eagles play through) she flips out and is willing to murder anyone and everyone claiming they are heretics.
This is essentially the good ending for her where she realizes she been a bit of a bitch and wants to step down as archbishop. I do still think edlegard attempting to unite all of Fodlan by mass murder and power were worse though.
But what if Sothis wanted to rest in piece? To have her heart Frankenstein-ed over and over in different live forms must not have been peaceful while in limbo.

She’s kind of like Edelgard, like her she has a motivation that makes her actions understandable, also like Edelgard she has flaws that make it easy to see why people would view her in a negative light. Her need to bring back her mother, again whilst understandable, started to become unhealthy and dare I say obsessive, especially in the Crimson Flower route, and even if she saved baby Byleth life at the request of Sitri her goal remained the same. She still intended to use him/her to bring back Sothis like she did so with all the others, including his/her mother. Hell, considering the fact she disappeared after she merged with Byleth, even Sothis didn’t want her to do any of it and I’m glad she sees that by the end of the Silver Snow route. So yeah, Rhea might not be a monster or even deserve death but I think it’d be justifiable for Byleth to be angry at her.

Silver Snow was THE route originally. The Warriors/Tokyo-Mirage-Sessions team was left to make the other three routes, and screwed up so royally with Verdant Wind and Crimson Flower because they had no time even after a delay.

Nope. I did Claude route, church route and had the option to save her first. Once I saved her, I did not have to fight her and she made a healthy recovery. She was healthy enough to become archbishop and do her shady shit once more.
@@aldosantin1485 The only way you can save Rhea in the church route is if you have an A or S support with Rhea. If you only have an A support, the only confirmation that you get that Rhea is alive is Catherine's solo Guardian of Zanado ending, where Rhea steps down from her position as archbishop and Catherine follows her.
The only way she becomes archbishop again is if you S support her. She most certainly does not do "shady shit" in either case.

If you go down the BE route it’ll split into two different routes when Edlegard tries to steal the crest stones. You have to choose to either side with Edelgard or with the church.
This is the last chapter of the church route.

It's disturbing how little people seem to pay attention. Rhea is NOT Byleth' mother. She is also not his/her daughter, because Byleth is NOT Sothis. Byleth also isn't Sothis' reincarnation. Byleth is nothing more than a random child of one of Rheas experiments. So she isn't even Byleth' grandmother. Byleth got Sothis' heart by implantation, nothing more. Rhea could've implanted the heart in other children and she did that in the past. That's why she called Byleth "just another failure" when he/she sided with Edelgard. Most of the people in this comment section only see what they want to see.

Me after playing Crimson Flower and learning the full lore: I feel manipulated
Brother, the Crimson Flower route only a portion of the full Lore; Verdant Wind covers the most followed by Silver Snow. Even Azure Moon has some pretty important clues as to what is going on, that you don't find in the other routes.
It's literally impossible to get the entire lore by just playing a single route in the game. That's the whole point of 3H, to get to play everyone's perspective to have a clear idea about what the heck is going on.
